My recent trip to Hangzhou led me to choose the Canopy by Hilton Hangzhou West Lake, and I was genuinely surprised by how wonderful my stay was. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting West Lake.

The hotel's location is truly excellent. The South Gate offers convenient access, allowing you to walk to the West Lake scenic area, and the surrounding commercial district is well-developed, meaning no long treks for dining or shopping. Getting here from the high-speed train station was smooth, saving me a lot of travel time, which is a huge plus for a short trip.

During check-in, the front desk staff were gentle and polite, and the process was efficient and quick. Their service was meticulous and thoughtful, patiently answering any questions I had. The room's decor was modern and trendy, clean and fresh, with great natural light, and the facilities were well-maintained. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a very peaceful night's sleep. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, and the toiletries were of good quality, making for a very pleasant daily experience.

The public areas had a fantastic ambiance, with a chic and minimalist design, featuring local Hangzhou elements everywhere, giving it a unique city character. In my free time, I could relax in the lobby with a drink to unwind. The hotel's services were comprehensive; the breakfast offered a rich variety and authentic flavors, setting me up perfectly for the day ahead.

When I felt like a leisurely stroll, I could either head to the lakeside to enjoy the beauty of West Lake or explore the streets and alleys for local delicacies. It's a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle, without any sense of noise or disturbance.

Whether you're traveling solo for a short trip or just looking to relax and unwind, this hotel is an excellent choice. The thoughtful and attentive service, superb location, and clean, comfortable rooms made my Hangzhou trip much more enjoyable. Next time I'm in Hangzhou, the Canopy by Hilton will still be my top choice, and I highly recommend it to all travelers.

This was my second stay, and this time I brought my parents along. The experience was still very good.

The hotel is very close to Metro Line 1, about a three-minute walk. You can take six stops directly to Hangzhou East, or continue further to West Lake. The transportation is convenient. Just a few steps away is Jinsha Lake, where you can have a meal, grab a coffee, and watch the fountain show – it's quite nice.

The service was still very good. We received welcome water, and there were no strange odors in the room. This time, I booked a connecting room with two twin beds and one king bed, which made it easier to communicate with my parents.

Regarding dining: The freshly squeezed juice was still very sweet, and the beef noodles and chive steamed dumplings were delicious as always. However, the variety of other breakfast items was mediocre. It was the same in October as it was in August, with no new options. So, after having breakfast on the first day, we weren't eager to have it again on the second day. I suggest they change up the breakfast offerings more often.

This hotel really exceeded my expectations. Most hotels in Washington D.C. are quite old, but this one seems to have been recently renovated, creating a vibe that's both classic and contemporary. The hotel is located north of the White House, on the central axis. While it's a bit of a walk to the subway, it's definitely within walking distance. What truly stands out is the hotel's decor and furnishings. The room perfectly embodied that cozy American aesthetic I imagined, and the bathroom was spacious. The artwork chosen for the room showed good taste, and the lighting in the common areas was very comfortable. Just a heads up, the hotel doesn't provide disposable toiletries, and breakfast is à la carte. I ordered a set meal and coffee, which came to $30 including service, and it was quite delicious.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Canopy in February. The employees were very friendly and went above and beyond excellent service. One of the front desk clerks went out of her way to help us when we got turned around because of some construction work. She actually stood outside to look out for us. We highly recommend staying at The Canopy! It was very clean and met our needs perfectly! Great location and we enjoyed being on the water. There is a shuttle stop just up from the hotel which made it easy to get around. We enjoyed walking around DC! We LOVED our stay!! Thank you to Patrick and the wonderful front desk folks as well as the friendly housekeepers! We’ll be back!! 🥰

We traveled as a family of two adults and one child, staying here for one night after checking out from the Tokyu hotel.

As a new hotel, it is indeed very clean. It shares three outdoor pools with the adjacent Hilton, one of which is adults-only. The hotel's own infinity pool on the 12th floor offers a genuinely fantastic view and is well worth visiting in the morning; however, past noon, it gets too hot and suffers from backlight.

Regarding family-friendliness, it's a bit of a mixed bag. There is a children's pool with a small slide that kids will love, but absolutely no children's toiletries or even a step stool are provided. The beach is entirely made of crushed coral and shells, making it impossible to build sandcastles. You can't even go barefoot as you'll easily get cut. The waters on both sides are flanked by extended breakwaters and structures, ruining the view. Honestly, the experience is only salvaged by the infinity pool. The beach is in a completely different league—and far inferior—to the Tokyu's.

As for check-in, even if your room is ready, the earliest they will let you check in is 1:00 PM; otherwise, you have to wait until 3:00 PM.

We didn't have the hotel breakfast, so no comment on that. About a 15-minute walk from the hotel, there is a Miyako beef teppanyaki restaurant that requires reservations. The food is pretty good, and if I recall correctly, it costs around 500-600 per person.
