This is an older, reputable four-star hotel chain in Hong Kong, and this Tsuen Wan location is the most affordable. I chose it for my island-hopping trip to Hong Kong, finally fulfilling my wish to swim and hike at Half Moon Bay in Sai Kung. I booked a room with either a king or twin beds. On the first night, being a Saturday, there were more tourists, so the hotel didn't have any king rooms left and just pushed two twin beds together, which was a bit tight. On Sunday, I asked to switch rooms, and they accommodated me immediately, but there was no complimentary upgrade; upgrades cost extra. The room was quite small, barely enough space to open two carry-on suitcases. Some of the garden view rooms faced an old, dilapidated gray factory building, which wasn't very appealing. The rooms have been newly renovated, and each comes with an air purifier. If you don't have a converter, there are USB ports by the bed for charging. There's a TV with movie channels, which was a nice bonus. Unfortunately, the bathroom in the king room had a minor leak, but it dried up after the room was cleaned. The cleaning was thorough, and they replenished tissues and toilet paper. They'll change the sheets upon request. The hotel doesn't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste, but you can buy them at Mannings, about a 10-minute walk away. They also don't provide bottled water, but there's a water dispenser in the hallway. Theoretically, tap water in Hong Kong is drinkable, but some buildings have old pipes, so filtering is a good idea. From 11 AM to 5 PM daily, the hotel offers self-serve complimentary drinks at the entrance; the Roselle tea and longan ginger tea were both delicious. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Tai Wo Hau MTR station and about a 20-minute walk from Kwai Hing MTR station, but there are plenty of buses nearby, and the double-decker bus offers great views. In April, the hotel's swimming pool wasn't open yet. The gym is open 24 hours and has some cardio equipment, 1-10kg dumbbells, a weight bench, and yoga mats, along with sweat towels. The hotel has a restaurant and a cafe. The front desk service was a bit average, but the concierge and restaurant staff were very good. There's also a shuttle bus to nearby shopping malls. The 7-Eleven at the entrance is open from 7 AM to 11 PM, which is convenient for buying things. However, the hotel doesn't have a microwave, so you can't heat food when the 7-Eleven is closed. There are many restaurants in the residential area, about a 10-minute walk away, offering choices like cha chaan tengs, beef noodles, and char siu rice, and most stay open late. Check-out is quite early at 11 AM. I called the front desk to request a 12 PM check-out, and they said it would cost an extra HKD 130. After check-out, luggage can be stored for free until midnight that day; after midnight, it's HKD 10 per piece per day. When I went to pick up my luggage, I saw a tour group from mainland China, which gives you an idea of the number of tourists the hotel hosts on weekends. Overall, I would still highly recommend it; it offers excellent value for money in Hong Kong!

It's a 10-minute walk from the metro station, which can be a bit inconvenient with luggage, but overall, it was a good experience. The area around the hotel is an industrial zone, but that's only an issue if you can't accept it. If you can't, then you might want to reconsider. Getting around Hong Kong by metro is very convenient.

Environment: Surrounded by famous attractions, I also recommend Peng Qing Kee Michelin restaurant.

I traveled alone with my child to see the (G)I-DLE concert and chose this hotel because it's right next to the venue. I knew it was close, but I didn't realize just how close! We literally walked out of the hotel, went down two sets of stairs, passed a separate security check, and we were inside the main stadium – it was incredibly convenient! Plus, from our room, we could see the Kai Tak Sports Park right on our right, which is perfect for families with kids.  Secondly, let's talk about the transportation convenience. After exiting T1, I looked for city bound transportation. I opted for the bus as the MTR seemed a bit indirect. I took the A25 Kai Tak route. I bought my ticket manually; there was no queue, and it cost 40.8 HKD cash per adult. I was a bit nervous on the bus because many guides mentioned getting off at Mutai Street Station, but it wasn't listed on the route map. So, I kept a close eye on the announcements. Rest assured, everyone, it does stop at Mutai Street Station, and the hotel is just a short walk straight ahead from there.

The room design is excellent. The air conditioning works perfectly, keeping the room cool. The shuttle bus service is very convenient, and the complimentary breakfast vouchers lead to a delicious meal. The hotel's location is fantastic, and overall, it offers incredible value for money! I would definitely consider staying here again.

For this price in Hong Kong, it's really good value for money. The hotel upgraded our room to a high-floor city view, which was surprisingly quiet. If you head right out of the hotel and down the slope, you'll find another hotel managed by the same group. That's where you can catch the free shuttle bus – just check the schedule for rides to Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, and even the Airport Express station in Sheung Wan. The hotel practices eco-friendly management, so they don't provide toothbrushes or other amenities. For frequent business travelers like us who always bring our own, this isn't an issue, but for others, please remember to bring your own or buy them downstairs. Drinking water also isn't provided in bottles; you need to take your room's bottle downstairs to refill it (as shown in image 2).

I had a very enjoyable stay at Dorsett Hotel. The room was nice, clean, and cozy, making it a comfortable place to relax after a long day. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming. The facilities were well maintained, and the location was convenient. I would definitely recommend Dorsett Hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Thank you for the great hospitality!

I had a pleasant stay at J-Hotel by Dorsett overall. The location is very convenient and surrounded by many popular spots such as TRX, MMM, Yang Butong BBQ, Grumpy Bagels, Hai Kah Lang, and many other food options within walking distance. It is a great area for food hunting and shopping.

The room was comfortable, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The soundproofing definitely needs attention, as I could hear doors slamming early in the morning between 7am-9am when guests were checking out or going for breakfast. Between 10am–12pm, conversations from housekeeping staff along the corridor were also quite loud and could be clearly heard from inside the room, which disturbed my rest.

The overall cleanliness could also be improved further. I appreciated the simple birthday room decoration prepared by the hotel. Previously, the hotel offered a slice of cake as a birthday gesture, so it felt a little disappointing that it was not included this time, as it would have made the celebration feel more special.

Aside from these points, the stay was still decent and the hotel offers good value considering its strategic location.

We stayed there for 6 days and 5 nights. The hotel is clean and conveniently located close to everything. Drinking water was also provided. The breakfast menu was tasty but lacked variety. We were also allowed a late check-out until 1 PM without extra charge, as our flight was delayed.

Unfortunately, the room service still needs improvement. We called twice to request extra pillows and spoons, but no one delivered them until the next day. I hope this can be addressed.

The hotel might be a bit older, with some irreversible signs of wear, but you can tell the cleaning is thorough. It's right next to the metro station, offering direct access to Bukit Bintang and Petaling Street, making it super convenient for getting around the city. It's also very close to UCSI, about a kilometer away, which you can reach by bus or on foot. The front desk staff doesn't speak Chinese but they're fluent in English; if you don't speak English, they'll use a translation app to help with check-in. You can also store your luggage there.

I stayed in this hotel for the second time, but this time my experience was not the same as first time.

The hotel is good enough actually for the price. But if you want an advice, then I recommend to go for the better room (not a standard room). Delux or premium is just wonderful for it's price. But this time I went for standard and it's so much worse (now I can understand negative reviews on this hotel: that all comes from a standard room experience). Well, the room is okay, but really, in KL there are so many options to stay that the standard room looks poor and old. It's quite small also. Better type of the rooms are not much expensive but it's big and much much better. So I really suggest to upgrade the room and to have a great experience of stay rather than save a few dollars and to stay in standard room.

The location of the hotel is central and this makes it very much worthy anyway. Petronas towers just 15 minutes walk. River of life is also not far away. It's a good central location, no doubts. 

Cleaning of the room is good. Every day someone comes to clean the room, to give some water bottles and to change the towels. They change bedsheets every two days. 

There is an AC in the room but it seems to me to be a bit old, so it's not that powerful (even on maximum cool mode). But it works, it was enough for me. It's ok if the weather is not too hot. If it's really hot, I am not sure if this AC is enough. Or it's ok if you don't like when AC is too strong. 

The hotel has some problems with insects (though it's not that bad, it felt clean enough, but sometimes you can see). While I stayed there in December and in March, they had something to with it (kinda spray shots as a part of cleaning). If it bothers you, better not to go there. I did feel bad about it. No smell. Just a single shot of spray in the bathroom and that's it. My friend didn't like that it happened at all. But what can they do? The hotel tries its best to keep the building clean. So sometimes there is no other way because insects might come and it's better to prevent it.

I met different managers of the reception and the guy was really good and friendly. And both ladies were not friendly at all. They made me pay the taxes again though it was already included in the price. Then I had to show them the proof that I have already paid it. No apology. On the contrary, she blamed me in her mistake and behaved so much unfriendly that my friend was saddened by it a lot. We got a refund, but really, this was unpleasant. When the guy is there, he smiles and he is happy to held. But not the lady. 

Overall, the price of this hotel is cheap and I would recommend it for a location. If you can go for a better room, then it's worthy of staying there. Won't come again in a standard room. 

The swimming pool is beautiful and there is almost noone there. It's a plus point. They also have sauna for men and sauna for women. But you have to press the button to make it work in advance (20 minutes before you plan to visit), otherwise it's not hot there (because there are almost no people). You can swim in the pool while it's getting hot there. Sauna and pool are really good there and it's a plus point for this hotel.

Breakfast is average. Actually there are many dishes and it's good enough, but the general impression is just okay okay. Everything is there, I can't say anything bad. But if you are not too fond of having breakfast in hotels and if you prefer to sleep long, then really, you better sleep, it's just an okay breakfast.

1. The location is quite good, with Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Sun Fong Bak Kut Teh, and Regalia Suites & Residences nearby. Getting a Grab (ride-sharing service) is also very convenient.
2. I booked a two-bedroom apartment, which faced a high-rise residential building under construction. It was a bit noisy, but tolerable. However, the view wasn't great. The circular balcony was a selling point, but I barely used it. Also, whether from the room or the infinity pool on the rooftop, you could only see the very tips of the Petronas Towers.
3. The security management (card access for elevators) and housekeeping were pretty good. The water heater is electric, and after the initial few minutes, the hot water was consistently piping hot.
4. Check-in and breakfast are at the adjacent Regalia Hotel, not in the Regalia Residences itself, but it's only about 20 meters away.
5. My wife was quite unhappy with all the mirrors in the apartment; she joked that it looked like some kind of ritualistic array, haha. But seriously, there were too many mirrors – in the living room, bedrooms, everywhere. Even the coffee table was mirrored. I don't understand this style at all. If you mind a lot of mirrors, you might want to choose another place.
6. The washing machine has a drying function, the fridge is huge, and the air conditioning works really well.
7. Toothpaste, toothbrushes, and towels are provided. I recommend buying a pair of slippers in Bukit Bintang, as the paper slippers provided in the room can be slippery since the bathroom doesn't have a wet/dry separation.

I stayed here for the Billkin concert, and it was incredibly close to the venue! The room was simple and clean, and the air conditioning worked perfectly – no complaints there. The handheld showerhead was broken, but the main shower had great water pressure, and I could easily adjust the hot and cold water. It was surprisingly quiet, not noisy at all. They didn't even ask for a deposit. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I'd definitely choose this place again in the future.

This photo is from my room view. An important things to said if you drive can just consider other hotel. This hotel did not provide free parking as you know the town areas parking at Singapore are expensive. But this suitable who will take mrt, is just right below the hotel which is outram park. The pool have made my mom a bit disappointed because of not really have good maintenance since this is a 4 star global hotel, really cannot compare with Dorsett KL😌

I have met a front service counter staff, I hope she is just tired, because she looks like we owe her. She is very good on speaking mandarin and just nice this hotel nearby Chinatown. Might have a lot of mandarin users.
