I noted it was my birthday when I booked, and the hotel did a lovely job with some simple decorations and even provided a small cake.

The front desk, concierge, and housekeeping staff all had excellent service attitudes.

The room was very spacious and well-equipped, definitely deserving of a five-star rating.

The package I booked included a complimentary zongzi (rice dumpling), and the packaging was beautiful – the bag itself was so nice you could use it separately.

For those who are in town for meetings and exhibitions near Hongqiao, this hotel is ideally situated and your must go place. What we loved was the uber comfortable bed, good bedroom size and layout of the room. Despite its distance from the usual shopping areas, dining and amenities is not a problem with ******* as they have a separate holding areas for the delivery team to place your orders… they were very efficient and careful when collecting off my Taobao orders on my behalf ! 
For those who wish to visit downtown (eg to the bund) for a look, travelling could be a little inconvenient as it takes approximately 40mins by cab or 30mins by trains 
Overall - a great stay at the Hotel.

My mother had always wanted to visit the InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland, and we finally made it! Our whole family, young and old, came along.

**Room Experience**
We splurged 2200 for a room, which was upgraded to a 2900 Sapphire room (room number 808). It was right in the center of the hotel's curved facade, offering an excellent view! 

However, the room was very dusty. Dust kept blowing out of the air conditioner, and there were a lot of bugs. The moment we stepped onto the balcony, we saw all sorts of insects, and there was even a dead fly in the sink – quite disgusting. The hotel service was also a bit odd; they put a bottle of shampoo by the sink, and I assumed they mistook it for hand soap. 

Check-out was at 14:30, which was a nice bonus!

**Dining Experience**
We ate at three different restaurants over four meals.

*   **Fisherman's Wharf:** We had lunch here. They only offered set menus, 698 for two people. My husband, our child, and I shared one. It only included salad, soup, steak, and yogurt. The taste was mediocre, definitely not worth the price. It's the kind of place you visit once in a lifetime. It was slightly better than the one at Atlantis.
*   **The Source All-Day Dining:** We had the dinner buffet, 698 for two people. Children under 120cm were free. Honestly, there wasn't much to eat. My child had some sashimi and a few skewers, while I ended up eating a bowl of blanched greens. It would have been better to order takeout.
*   The **breakfast buffet** was definitely worth it. They had many live cooking stations: made-to-order omelets, ramen, Jianbing Guozi (savory crepes), and a station for blanched vegetables.
*   **Cai Feng Lou:** We had lunch here on our second day. There were various awards displayed at the entrance. We ordered a special lobster, cod, and some vegetables. I thought the cod was decent, but overall, the dishes were quite salty. However, this was indeed the best restaurant in the entire hotel. They even gave us a free dessert because they forgot one of our dishes. The bill was over 800 for three people – the best value for money!

I also ordered takeout twice! You have to go to the hotel entrance to pick it up yourself, which is very inconvenient! I highly recommend takeout from Songjiang University Town – it's delicious and affordable!

**Travel Photography**
Booking a session was very difficult. They called me the day before, and the only slot left was Sunday morning at 9 AM. We got three free photos and a video. The shoot lasted 20 minutes, as we had to rush to breakfast. The final photos were good, and the editing was quite exaggerated. No one would guess I weigh 170 pounds! Hahahaha.

I came for a last-minute trip and chose the InterContinental, which was close to my destination. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an open-plan suite.

- **Service**: Warm and welcoming. I arrived in the early hours, and the concierge was still very friendly, helping me check in and guiding me all the way to the elevator. The housekeeping staff always greeted me with a smile. The reception at the 24th-floor printing area was also very polite.

- **Environment**: The hotel has been open for some years, and the furniture and decor retain a classic 'Shanghai style' – vintage but not outdated. It's a refreshing change from the modern designs of many hotels today, offering a unique charm. (Though the bedside switches could use an update).

- **Breakfast**: Quite abundant, with a standard spread, plus local Shanghai-style mini wontons. The freshly made Western scrambled eggs were delicious, and you could pair them with baked beans and sausages to make a full English breakfast.

My stay at the InterContinental Ruijin was absolutely fantastic, earning a perfect score! It's truly an exceptional choice for a city getaway in Shanghai. The hotel is nestled within historic buildings, a collection of charming vintage villas scattered elegantly. The red-brick architecture paired with exquisite carvings exudes the unique grandeur and sophistication of old Shanghai. Each building showcases a classical beauty shaped by time, creating an incredibly atmospheric ambiance.

The hotel's garden landscape is equally stunning. The entire area is lush and verdant, with flourishing plants, ancient trees, and intertwining vines, making the air delightfully fresh. The expansive central lawn is perfectly manicured and vibrantly green. Sunlight filtering through the trees creates soft, gentle shadows, making every photo Instagram-worthy. It's a tranquil and therapeutic escape, completely isolated from the city's hustle and bustle – utterly relaxing.

Throughout my stay, the service was attentive, meticulous, warm, and thoughtful. From check-in and concierge transfers to everyday inquiries, the staff were consistently enthusiastic, polite, and quick to respond. They thoughtfully arranged electric cart transfers between the main building and the VIP building, showcasing incredible attention to detail. The entire experience was comfortable and truly pleasant.

I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a Grand Deluxe King Room in the VIP building, which I was thrilled about. The lobby manager and Mr. He Hui, the concierge at the VIP building, left a particularly strong impression. The room's decor was elegant and sophisticated, with high-quality hard finishes. Marble flooring and exquisite ceilings added a touch of luxury. Vintage art on the walls and refined wooden furnishings throughout exuded a classic cultural heritage and a timeless quality. The room facilities were comprehensive and well-maintained, blending vintage charm with modern comfort – quiet yet luxurious.

While I didn't experience much of the dining, the breakfast selection was incredibly rich and diverse, featuring a wide variety of Chinese and Western dishes, desserts, and beverages. The ingredients were fresh, exquisitely prepared, and of high quality.

Overall, the InterContinental Ruijin combines beauty, heritage, and excellent service. Its classical architecture, magnificent gardens, attentive service, and exquisite dining perfectly complement each other, resulting in a wonderfully therapeutic and perfect stay. It's definitely a place worth revisiting!

Third time here, and I'm very disappointed! I won't be coming back again.

Reason: We were staying as a family with children and I booked half a month in advance, specifically requesting a twin room. However, during check-in, I was told that whether I'd get a twin room would depend on availability on the day. This is the first time I've ever encountered such a response; previously, when I checked in elsewhere, requests were noted during booking or confirmed via phone. If a twin room couldn't be provided, it would have been helpful to know in advance, as it's really inconvenient when traveling with kids.

The front desk staff's response was: ”Then go stay at another hotel... Or we can refund your money...” I was speechless; it felt like they were just giving up.

Even though I live in Shanghai, it's a huge city, and this hotel is quite a distance from my home. If they couldn't accommodate my request, a heads-up via phone or email would have been appreciated.

During our stay, another guest was asking a question at the concierge, and the first staff member's response was also perfunctory, almost rude. I thought that even though this five-star hotel is a bit old, I was paying for the service, but the service was terrible. The same front desk staff member who checked me in this time was also the one who checked me in on my first visit and even asked me for a good review. This time, *he he*...

My overall experience at InterContinental Shanghai Dishui Lake was great. Both the environment and service were quite impressive, making it a highly recommended lake view resort hotel.

**Environment and Scenery**
The hotel is located on the South Island of Dishui Lake, surrounded by the lake and green spaces. The scenery is pleasant, and the environment is quiet and beautiful. From the room balcony or public areas, the lake view is expansive and delightful. The atmosphere in the morning, evening, and at night is fantastic, perfect for photos and leisurely strolls.

**Facilities and Rooms**
The room size is ample, with a modern and minimalist decor. The cleanliness is generally good, and the bedding is quite comfortable. The hotel's public facilities are comprehensive, with well-maintained gardens and walking paths. Strolling by the lake is very relaxing.

**Service Highlights**
I'd particularly like to commend Tim Bi at the front desk. His service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. During check-in, he meticulously introduced the hotel's facilities, and his attitude was very friendly, leaving an excellent first impression as soon as I arrived.

**Dining Experience**
Both Chinese and Western options are available. The taste and quality are considered above average for hotels in the same category, offering good value for money overall.

In summary, if you're looking for a quiet, well-situated lake view hotel for a getaway near Shanghai, this is a worthy option to consider.

Last weekend I stayed at InterContinental Dubai Festival City with my family, where we had booked two rooms. Overall, the experience was pleasant, and the hotel’s location is excellent.  Especially its direct connection to Dubai Festival City Mall, which made dining and shopping very convenient.

However, the check-in process was quite disappointing. It took over two hours to receive our room keys, which was frustrating . Given that we had booked two rooms, it would have been reasonable to at least provide one room key while we wait for the other room. This delay suggested a lack of efficiency and experience at the front desk, which was unexpected for a hotel of this standard.

On a positive note, the breakfast was excellent, with a great variety and quality that we truly enjoyed. Aside from the check-in issue, the rest of our stay was very comfortable. The facilities, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all commendable.

Exceptional Transit Stay at InterContinental Dubai Marina

I stayed at the InterContinental Dubai Marina during an 18-hour transit from Dubai, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. I arrived at the hotel around noon, even though the official check-in time was 3:00 PM. Despite my early arrival, the staff were incredibly polite, friendly, and accommodating.
I waited about two hours for my room, but the receptionist went above and beyond by offering a complimentary upgrade. We received a stunning room with a beautiful view, which made the wait absolutely worth it.
The professionalism and warm attitude of the staff truly made a long transit stop feel relaxing and enjoyable. I sincerely appreciate their efforts, and I will definitely choose InterContinental Dubai Marina again on my next visit.
Highly recommended.

The bathing facilities are not good. The Studio suite has a bathtub but no shower. The bathtub is too high from the ground and it is easy to fall. This needs to be improved.

Service is also very thoughtful

Although the hotel has been open for a while, it's well-maintained overall and doesn't feel dated. The public areas are fully equipped, and there's even a complimentary mini-train for guests. This time, I paid to upgrade to a suite, which was very spacious and had a small balcony, though unfortunately, there was no view. An air purifier was constantly running, adding to the comfort.

The hotel boasts a huge outdoor water park, pool, and beach. Even during a holiday, when it was busier, it never felt overwhelmingly crowded. I recommend bringing your own sand toys, as buying them at the hotel can be pricey.

The hotel's soft play area charges an extra fee, so I didn't get to experience it.

As a city-center resort hotel, it's definitely worth a special trip for families with children.

Before checking in, I received a call from Aggie from the hotel, who understood my travel needs in advance and helped arrange everything perfectly. Full marks for service.

Facilities: InterContinental's hardware never disappoints. It keeps up with the times, constantly upgrading its amenities. Within the hotel, you have everything you need without stepping out: entertainment, a gym, swimming, games, and dining. 
Hygiene: Despite being an InterContinental hotel by the sea, there was absolutely no musty smell in the room, which was a pleasant surprise. Every corner of the room was spotlessly clean, and the toiletries were neatly arranged. 
Buffet: Both breakfast and dinner offered a wide array of choices, all delicious. Dinner and photo shoots need to be booked in advance. 
Service: What truly impressed me this time was the service. I've always felt that InterContinental's resort hotels generally offer better service than their city counterparts. Before check-in, they called to confirm my arrival and asked about any needs, which they tried their best to accommodate. The guest relations manager, in particular, proactively contacted me to inquire about any special requests. Upon learning I was a member, they thoughtfully arranged a room upgrade when available, which I'm incredibly grateful for. I was extremely satisfied. Throughout my stay, they consistently checked in on my needs. The entire experience was very satisfying and complete. Thank you, InterContinental.

My overall experience during this stay was excellent. The room was clean and tidy, with a comfortable layout, and the environment was quiet and pleasant. Linda, a member of the staff, was incredibly warm and friendly. She handled the check-in and check-out process efficiently and patiently answered all my questions, paying attention to every detail. The hotel's location is superb, making it very convenient for getting around and shopping. The thoughtful service combined with the comfortable living environment made my trip exceptionally pleasant. I'm very impressed and will definitely choose this hotel again for future travels.
