The location is excellent, and the front desk proactively upgraded our room, which was a nice gesture. The hotel property is a bit old, and the facilities are dated, but daily maintenance seems adequate.

Initially, I booked for 2 nights, but due to changes in my travel plans, I wanted to extend to 4 nights. During my stay, I inquired about the monthly rate for a long-term stay. A staff member took down my contact information and promised that a colleague would follow up, but I never received any callback, even by check-out.

Each time we extended our stay, we had to go to the front desk to reactivate our room key cards. The lobby is on the 38th floor, requiring an elevator transfer. The underground parking lot lacks clear hotel signage, so if you're driving, you have to figure out the route yourself. Parking costs 50 yuan per day.

The biggest drawback of this experience was the obvious flaw in internal communication. I had requested a late check-out until 2 PM. However, at noon, I received multiple calls from housekeeping and had staff knocking on my door repeatedly asking about extending our stay or checking out. The constant disturbance ultimately forced me to check out early with my child and move to another hotel.

The lobby staff were polite on the surface, but they lacked proactive service awareness. I was traveling with a child, and not once did anyone offer slippers or bath towels (I brought my own toiletries, so this is just an objective observation).

Compared to hotels of a similar caliber, there's a significant gap in the meticulousness of their service, which I believe is the main reason for the branch's low overall rating.

An exemplary stay.
My experience at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Shanghai was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, the professionalism of the hotel team was evident. Their proactive service, meticulously confirming all my needs, set a wonderful tone for the entire stay. The guest room design perfectly balanced aesthetics and functionality. The smart home system allowed for effortless control of the room's environment, and the specially selected mattress and high-quality bedding ensured an excellent night's sleep. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning views of the bustling city and river, while cleverly keeping out any external noise. The independent workspace was a particular highlight, with high-speed internet and an ergonomic chair making business tasks easy and comfortable.

The service team was outstanding; whether I needed extra amenities or information, their response was always prompt, and the staff consistently maintained a professional yet warm demeanor. The breakfast spread was extensive and exquisitely prepared, with staff always attentive to guests' needs. In-house guests also received a substantial discount on the dinner buffet. This stay truly highlighted the hotel's meticulous attention to detail. From the thoughtful configuration of hardware facilities to the optimization of service processes, everything demonstrated a high level of professional management. It is indeed a top choice for travelers.

This is the 223rd hotel we've visited with our kids. This weekend, I randomly picked a highly-rated hotel in Shanghai. I've stayed at several Marriott properties before, but this was my first time at a JW Marriott. I felt there were quite a few issues (especially compared to other Marriott and Renaissance hotels I've stayed at this year):
1.  Upon arrival, our room wasn't ready. We were told they'd call us once it was cleaned, but we never received a call.
2.  Our package included dinner for two adults and one child, but the buffet restaurant didn't assist with reservations or seating. As a result, the three of us were crammed into a tiny two-person table.
3.  The dirty dishes were stacked ridiculously close to the dining tables, lol.
4.  The breakfast selection was sparse, and only one station was open. Due to the high number of guests, they clearly weren't paying attention to quality; even the wontons were undercooked.
I could overlook these issues if this were a Courtyard or Fairfield, but for a JW Marriott... hmm.

A truly satisfying stay! The JW Marriott Hotel Shenzhen is indeed a top-tier hotel. The lobby exudes a light luxury and grand atmosphere, and the public areas are spotlessly clean. The staff at check-in were very professional and explained everything meticulously. The room layout was well-designed, the furnishings were exquisite, and the cleanliness was meticulously maintained—even the corners were sparkling clean. The mattress had just the right firmness, ensuring a sound sleep until morning. During my leisure time, strolling around the hotel was very pleasant, offering a tranquil and comfortable environment. The guest relations team proactively checked on our experience, and any issues were addressed promptly. The hotel restaurants offered a wide variety of dishes with fresh ingredients. Overall, the experience was comfortable and relaxing, making it perfectly suitable for both short stays and longer trips. I genuinely recommend it to anyone traveling.

A truly healing stay✨. Our butler Cassie's service was incredibly impressive. She was meticulous, reliable, and always ready to help, showing genuine thoughtfulness in every detail. It wasn't a standard, by-the-book service; instead, it felt like sincere and caring attention. The environment was quiet and comfortable, making for a superb experience. I genuinely recommend it and would definitely come back again.

This hotel is located in the heart of Xuanwumen, not far from famous attractions like Tiananmen Square, and also very close to Xidan and Financial Street, making its location excellent. Last time I stayed, I dined at the hotel's Marriott Chinese Restaurant, and the dishes were quite good. This time, while waiting for my room, I had a light meal at CASALINGO Italian Restaurant, which was a pleasant experience – quiet and comfortable. The domed swimming pool on the 19th floor has great natural light and clear water, making for a very enjoyable swim. Overall, the service was satisfactory, but there's one area I hope the hotel can improve: I had arranged for a late checkout until 2 PM, but I received two reminder calls after 12:30 PM before leaving, which was quite disruptive to my rest.

My flight was delayed by almost 4 hours, which was incredibly frustrating. But when I checked in, Ann at the front desk said, 'You've had a tough journey,' and it instantly gave me a boost of energy. She also noticed I had two kids and gave us two fridge magnets. Such thoughtful observation! It might seem like a small detail, but those little things really matter. The location is excellent, right next to SKP, just a 5-minute walk. The breakfast was delicious, and the variety was quite good. I stayed for 8 days and 7 nights, and I even wanted to book for another two days, but unfortunately, my itinerary didn't allow it, haha. After I checked out, I received an email saying I'd left something behind. I asked what it was, and it turned out to be just a hair tie and a hair clip, only worth a few dollars. But it shows they really care about their guests. I usually have trouble sleeping, but the soundproofing was decent. The slippers were soft and comfortable. The cleaning staff were always smiling and very polite.
