The hotel location is the best, only four minutes walk to the Tokyo station. The room size (17-sqm) is small which is pretty standard of Japanese hotel and good enough to sleep at night. From 11:00-22:00, there are free drinks, including water, soda, tea and coffee at the lobby which is very refreshing after a long day outside. 

There are also free amenities available for you to pick up at the check-in counter as well, such as facia mask, lotion, food pad, etc. The hotel staff can speak English very well and friendly. I will consider coming back here for my next trip.

Facilities: Excellent and well-thought-out.
Cleanliness: Spotless.
Environment: Very comfortable, and the location is fantastic. It's within walking distance to Tokyo Station, even closer to the subway entrance, and super convenient for exploring nearby shopping malls.
Service: Wonderful. They provide pajamas, face masks, foot patches, and various other amenities, which were incredibly relaxing after a day of walking around. I slept really well. Highly recommend!

This hotel is super convenient, right across from Exit 5 of the Hanzo-mon line. It's also really close to popular spots like Chidorigafuchi and the Imperial Palace, and getting to other train lines for transfers is a breeze. We've stayed here twice now and both times were great. The room size was good, and the price was fair. It's not a super new hotel, but its fantastic location and overall decent amenities make it excellent value for money, in my opinion. Oh, and they provide basic toiletries and even some makeup – there were two options on the first floor. Since we stayed in April, it wasn't too hot outside, so we didn't really need them, but I imagine they'd be a nice bonus in the summer. Their tea is also really delicious! They even have face masks, not top-of-the-line, but perfectly fine for a quick hydration boost while traveling.

Pros:
1. The overall design is quite appealing.

Cons:
1. The 15 sqm room is incredibly small. Don't believe for a second that this room type can accommodate two people! If there are two of you, you'd need at least 20 sqm, and I doubt this 15 sqm room is even truly 15 sqm.
2. The hotel has an absurdly small number of power outlets. There are no outlets by the bed at all! This is a terrible design. You can only charge devices by the TV. The room only has two charging outlets in total – one in the bathroom and one by the TV! How are two people supposed to charge their devices?
3. The hotel entrance is also very small. Across the street, Koko has sofas and other seating areas, but this hotel only has a few outdoor stools.

There is something unique about this Hotel Monterey in Akasaka that made our stay so enjoyable.  Location yes but the little details of the hotel made for a most enjoyable stay; the free cold beverages in the lobby; the hotel front desk staff accommodating our request for a larger room; the in room kettle; coffee machine; ceramic coffee cups/teapot; the unique showerhead; the linens; the bedcover and most definitely the mattress.  The one awkward item would be the difficulty in navigating through the Japanese language media selections.Thank you.

I specifically chose this hotel for the ARASHI concert in Osaka. The location is truly excellent. Osaka OCAT is right below the hotel, offering buses to Osaka's two major airports, Tottori, Tokushima, Takamatsu, and more. It's about a 50-minute ride to Kansai Airport. The hotel's basement has JR, Osaka Metro, and Hanshin lines. It's a 10-minute walk to Namba Takashimaya Department Store and the surrounding shopping streets, and a 15-minute walk to Shinsaibashi Daimaru Department Store. There are many restaurants in the hotel's underground mall, and a supermarket on the first floor of the adjacent building where you can shop and get tax refunds.

The hotel lobby and restaurant have a Western classical decor, and there's even a small chapel. I saw a wedding taking place there on the day I checked in. However, the room decor is a bit old and simple; the single room size isn't small for a Japanese hotel. The hotel lobby is on the 22nd floor, and guest rooms are from the 24th to 31st floors. Each floor entrance requires a room card to access the corridor, which is a good security feature. My room was on the 29th floor, with an average view – facing another guest room. On a side note, the sheer curtains in the room are very transparent. If you have the lights on at night with only the sheer curtains drawn, people in the opposite rooms can see inside, as I unintentionally experienced myself 😅.

The hotel breakfast offers a rich variety and excellent quality, including Japanese and Western dishes, desserts, ice cream, and fruits, even watermelon and cherries. The breakfast restaurant on the 23rd floor has an excellent view; the last two photos are taken from there.

My only dissatisfaction during this stay was the hotel's service. Most guests at the hotel were Caucasian, with some Koreans and people from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. It was noticeable how enthusiastic the hotel staff were towards Caucasian guests, and how indifferent they were towards Chinese guests. I wouldn't call it discrimination, but more of a perfunctory, by-the-book service. On the first day at breakfast, after scanning my room card, I was told my booking didn't include breakfast. I informed the staff that my reservation did include it; after a phone confirmation with the front desk, it was indeed included. To my surprise, the same issue occurred again on the second day. I'm unsure if the breakfast information wasn't entered into the system during check-in or what caused this recurring problem. Why wasn't the dining information updated after the first day's incident? Crucially, throughout both interactions, I didn't sense any apology from the hotel staff. However, the housekeeping staff were quite enthusiastic; they would actively greet me in the hallway and step aside to let me pass first.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka. The location was excellent, within walking distance of Osaka Station, restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping areas, making it very convenient for sightseeing and transportation.

The room was clean, modern, and well-maintained. Although the room size was compact, which is common in Japan, it was thoughtfully designed and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet, allowing for a good night’s sleep.

One of the highlights was the public bath facility, which was clean and relaxing after a long day of exploring the city. The staff were friendly, professional, and efficient during both check-in and check-out.

The breakfast offered a good selection of Japanese and Western dishes, and the quality was excellent.

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for travelers looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located place to stay in Osaka. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

This was my second stay at this hotel, and this time I stayed for five days and four nights. There was a slight issue with my initial room, but after speaking with the staff, they moved me to the room next door. The room was quiet and spacious enough. The hotel's breakfast was also excellent and varied daily. Most importantly, the hotel's location is superb, offering a peaceful retreat in the bustling Umeda area, as long as you're not right next to the train tracks.

The room was quite spacious, and the service was excellent. The front desk even provides some toiletries, and there's tea and coffee available in the lobby.

The hotel's location is great, just a 5-minute walk from Watanabedori Station and very close to Tenjin Underground City.

This hotel is super conveniently located, close to the subway, right between Tenjin and Hakata. A taxi to the airport was only about 100 RMB. In the lobby, they have complimentary tea bags and hot water, plus an electronic scale which is really handy for weighing your luggage. The rooms are spacious and even come with a humidifier. There's also an onsen (hot spring bath) at the hotel. We stayed in two different room types, and the more premium one had even more amenities like bath salts and mouthwash. The service was excellent; my room key fell out, and a kind passerby found it and returned it to the hotel, which I really appreciated.

Extremely satisfied with this stay! 👍 I've stayed at this hotel's Ginza location in Tokyo before, and this was my first time at the Fukuoka Tenjin hotel. The room was cozy, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious! The bathtub 🛁 was large enough for a relaxing soak. Downstairs there's a 24-hour sushi restaurant, and a 7-Eleven right in the building – so convenient! I'll definitely be back to stay again! Highly recommend!
