The room was a bit small; once our suitcases were open, it was hard to move around. However, the bedding was great, with one soft and one firm pillow. The pajamas provided were very comfortable, and the free foot patches and face masks were a nice touch and very effective, helping me sleep soundly. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but the quality and taste were excellent.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to a subway station and a supermarket. It's super convenient for shopping in Ginza, Shibuya, and Shinjuku. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, and they provided toiletries, water, cosmetics, and coffee, which was a nice touch. The water pressure in the shower was great. The front desk staff spoke good Chinese, and we had a wonderful time sightseeing, haha!

I stayed at this very hotel 10 years ago when I first visited Tokyo, and I still distinctly remember the vintage floor clock by the elevator. The hotel is situated on a relatively quiet side street in the heart of bustling Ginza. Ginza-Itchome subway station is directly opposite, and Ginza Station and Higashi-Ginza Station are also within easy walking distance. Ginza also provides a convenient airport limousine bus service to Narita Airport; for those who prefer to avoid the hassle of multiple subway transfers, this bus is an excellent choice, reaching Narita in just over an hour. Beyond this, Ginza offers an incredibly diverse and rich array of dining and shopping experiences. The hotel's service was also exceptional, making it highly recommended.

Trip.com's rating is too high; it should really be around 4.0-4.2. If I had just checked Google beforehand, I wouldn't have booked this hotel.

Pros: Good location, quiet air conditioning.

Cons: The facilities are incredibly old. The dark flooring looks ancient, the toilet seat is icy cold, and flushing requires reaching awkwardly behind it. The coating in the sink is peeling off in patches. The showerhead is the most baffling thing – you can't adjust its angle, so if you're 1.6m tall, it's either blasting your face or your stomach! And to top it off, it's *only* a high-pressure jet mode! Unbelievable! The room is very humid, so clothes don't dry. There are no USB ports or power outlets by the bed, and the desk lamp is covered in dust. The room is also extremely small.

Too lazy to take photos; I just felt it was dirty.

Our 25-day summer trip through Japan in 2025 kicked off with a stay at Hotel Monterey Akasaka. We rented a car and headed southwest from Tokyo, driving as far as Hiroshima. We explored almost the entire Shikoku region, completed the northernmost part of the Shoryudo route up to Himi in Toyama, watched the Lake Biwa fireworks, savored Hida Takayama wagyu beef, indulged in open-air hot springs, visited Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa, climbed Senkoji Temple in Onomichi, toured the Shikoku Aquarium, and crossed nearly all the famous bridges over the Seto Inland Sea. Our journey came full circle, ending with a second stay at Hotel Monterey Akasaka. The generous self-serve drinks and the hotel's quiet, comfortable atmosphere once again provided the perfect end to our trip! If we return to Tokyo next year, we'll definitely choose to stay here again. Looking forward to it!

The hotel lobby is quite grand, very much in the classic Hotel Monterey style. It was a slight disappointment that the small castle next door wasn't open to the public, especially since the Nishi-Umeda branch I stayed at last year allowed visitors. However, the hotel's location is absolutely superb – just a 5-minute walk to the JR station and with convenient Kansai Airport bus access, which was the main reason I chose it. Another pleasant surprise was the stunning night view from the room; you won't even need to go to places like Umeda Sky Building for a view! Overall, it's a fantastic stay, though it is a bit on the pricey side.

Facilities:
✅ Has a hot spring for soaking.
❌ No facial cleanser or makeup remover. If you forget to bring your own, you'll need to go to the hot spring area to use theirs, and the elevator up and down is very slow.

Hygiene:
Clean, and tidied daily. New toiletries like toothbrushes are also provided every day.

Environment:
Decent. It's a bit far from the subway station, taking over 10 minutes to walk.

Service:
Quite good. They handled a sudden issue with my child very empathetically.

The only minor issue was that the room lighting was a bit dim. The triple room, with one large and two smaller beds, was excellent as it allowed everyone to have their own space without disturbing each other. The hotel's B1 basement has direct access to Nishiumeda Subway Station. The last two pictures show the underground route back to the hotel via exit 6-30, which is also conveniently close to the JR station.

When we first arrived, we went through the wrong entrance, and the front desk staff came down to meet us. The location is excellent; you just cross a pedestrian bridge outside and you're at the subway station. The service was fantastic. We were even more pleasantly surprised when we entered the room—it's definitely a very spacious room for Japan. We had no problem opening all three of our suitcases. The room facilities are very comprehensive. Every day, housekeeping cleaned the room thoroughly and replenished everything. We will definitely stay at this hotel again next time we visit Osaka.

We booked a triple room. The hotel itself is quite new, and the room was very spacious, much larger than typical Japanese hotels. While the bathroom wasn't a wet/dry separation type, it was also more spacious than what you usually find in Japanese hotels.

There's a restaurant and a large public bath on the third floor. Someone supervises the entrance to the bath, where you give your room number to register and receive towels.

One thing to note is that the hotel entrance is quite small. We accidentally walked into the Mante Hermana Hotel next door while looking for it, as they're not far from each other. The hotel's front desk is on the third floor, so you'll need to take the elevator up.

I was very satisfied with this hotel. It was clean and quiet, and the staff were incredibly friendly. They happily helped us book restaurants. There are several convenience stores nearby, and the location is very convenient, just a three or four-minute walk from the subway station, making getting around super easy. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Fukuoka!

The hotel lobby also offers complimentary coffee, which is a lovely touch for a warm drink before heading out or upon returning.
