The room size is reasonable for an average hotel in Tokyo. In terms of convenience, it’s fairly good, with the train station just a 7-minute walk away. The location is also strategic, as it is close to bus stations and stops, and convenience stores like 7-Eleven are only about 300 meters away.

However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. There was visible rubbish when we first entered, and we encountered the same issue again in the bathroom on another day. This level of cleanliness is not acceptable for any hotel in Tokyo, especially since it occurred on two separate occasions. The room itself is quite dusty. Empty space below the bed is dusty and have rubbish inside. The tissue box is full of dust.

When we raised issue to the receptionist, she only replied the hotel will check & asked to get back to us but she never get back to us until we leave

Right in the heart of Asakusa, Richmond Hotel was in a really good location for our first time in Tokyo!

It’s a convenient 10-minute walk to Asakusa Station or Tawaramachi Station, with loads of stalls and bars along the streets for nightlife and late-night eats!

Room comes with a bathtub and toilet with a japanese smart toilet, which is very convenient. Ample space for all 4 of our luggages. 

It’s about a 5-minute walk away from Don Quijote, and a 2-minute walk from Uniqlo for all your shopping needs!

Staff were very friendly and helpful, setting up my Suica card for me and providing information on how to get back to Narita Airport on my last day.

Keisei Richmond Hotel Tokyo Monzennakacho: A Perfect Stay!

I highly recommend the Keisei Richmond Hotel Tokyo Monzennakacho – the service was absolutely five-star! The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and explained all the hotel policies patiently and thoughtfully. We arrived early, before check-in, and the front desk proactively arranged for us to store our luggage. When we returned to check in, our bags had already been delivered to our room, making the whole process effortless and pleasant.

The hotel itself is fantastic. From 2 PM to 9:30 PM, they offer complimentary coffee, ice cream, sodas, and teas. The breakfast was high quality, with fresh and delicious Japanese dishes like tempura, chawanmushi (savory egg custard), tuna, and mentaiko (spicy pollock roe). I definitely recommend choosing a room with breakfast included. The hotel is very welcoming to Chinese guests and also great for families. Check-out was quick and efficient. There's also a small but functional smoking room.

The location is superb, just a 5-minute walk from the nearest subway station. To get to Disney, you can walk about a kilometer to catch the JR local train, which takes about half an hour directly to the park – super convenient transportation. Right outside the hotel, there's an amazing tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) restaurant called Marushichi, which is definitely worth trying. Next door, there's also a large local supermarket with a wide variety of items at great prices. Overall, the hotel experience was impeccable and offered excellent value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Tokyo. A big thank you to the hotel staff for their wonderful care!

The room was a little small, but with eight suitcases we expected that. The one thing that did make me uncomfortable was the bathroom. The floor didn’t feel stable — it seemed to shift or sit on an angle, which made me feel like I was moving, almost like being in an airplane lavatory. I didn’t feel good standing in there.

On the positive side, the location was excellent and close to everything. We were on floor 12, very nice views. The staff were fantastic, and I really appreciated the display showing laundry availability.

The room itself was alright. It's conveniently located near Oshiage subway station, making it easy to get to all the popular attractions. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but the quality was good, and the ingredients were fresh.

hotel was one of the best value hotels in tokyo i have stayed at considering it was a weekend & there was also decomiku concert, front desk was very friendly & allowed to store our luggages till 9pm the next day!

The location is convenient. It’s only a few steps away from the elevator to Oshiage station. And it’s right beside Kura Sushi. There are two convenience stores nearby, and a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood.

The room is spacious and has a view of the Skytree. Our only problem was the vent of the aircon unit. It has already accumulated dust. And it’s directly above one side of the bed. We informed the lady at the front desk about it the next morning, but it’s still dust filled when we returned. It’s our only concern.

As a heads up, there is an accommodation tax which the front desk will ask from you upon check-in. ☺️

My recent stay at the Richmond Hotel Tokyo Shiba was quite a shock, definitely not as good as previous Richmond stays. I encountered a lot of issues during my four nights there. First, regarding my request for 'no corner room' – I had communicated this in advance via Ctrip. However, each floor at this hotel is small with only a few rooms, so there's not really a distinction between corner or non-corner. But I was still assigned a corner room on the top floor, which was really inconvenient. If the elevators were busy, I had to wait quite a while 😂. Two elevators really aren't enough. 

Next, the cleanliness. On my first day, I didn't select the continuous stay option on the TV. The hotel's policy is to clean every three days. I changed it to have cleaning for the remaining three days. But, dramatically, the first cleaning was fine, while the second and third had issues. During the second cleaning, the hotel's cleaning staff left two of their rags in my room. I wrote a note, but received no response, giving me the impression they just thought 'oh well, it's in your room now' 😃. The third cleaning was very simplified, and some areas were clearly missed.

As for the front desk, their English proficiency was quite limited, and sometimes they couldn't understand what I was saying. However, the female staff generally maintained a smiling service, while some of the male staff were expressionless.

I originally chose this hotel because of its good location, close to the JR station, which was indeed convenient. It's also close to Shiba Shinmei Shopping Street, Shiba Park, and Tokyo Tower. But I'd say the service was mediocre 😂. The room was also quite small, and I felt there were too few power outlets.

The room was spacious and comfortable, allowing for a very relaxing stay. Membership registration allowed for a leisurely check-out. The staff were very polite, there was parking available downstairs, and the restaurant offered plenty of delicious vegetables. I was extremely satisfied!

The illuminations along the path to Mitaka Station, where I took a walk, were very peaceful.

Located conveniently across from Tokyo Dome City (LaQua mall) and right above a Don Quixote, which is open 24hrs, the convenience is amazing at the price point. It is also near a few train and subway lines within walking distance which makes it easy to get around. The rooms are clean and simple with ample space. Amenities are free to pick up from the 4th floor lobby so it’s not that troublesome. Did not get breakfast from the hotel which I understand to be at the Saizeriya on the 3rd floor of the building.

We stayed at Richmond Hotel Hakata and Richmond Hotel Tenjin for our first two nights and final two nights, with a trip to Yufuin and Nagasaki in between.

The Hakata property is slightly older, while the Tenjin hotel feels brand new. The Tenjin hotel stands out for its modern design, central location, and well-thought-out lighting controls, making the stay more comfortable and convenient.

Breakfast at Royal Host in Tenjin was also very good, offering a satisfying start to the day.

What truly impressed us at both hotels was the staff. They were consistently courteous, helpful, and well-trained—always patient in assisting with any requests.

Overall, we had a very positive experience and would happily stay with this hotel chain again on future visits to Japan.

The room was spotless. The front desk offered complimentary toiletries like toothbrushes, facial cleanser, lotion, and even face masks. The bathroom's bathtub was very clean, perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day. I really appreciated that the room wasn't cleaned daily, as it allowed me to leave my belongings spread out without worry. Every day, the staff would hang fresh towels and other amenities in a bag on the doorknob, and we could simply place used items in a bag outside the door for them to collect. The hotel breakfast was fantastic, and the location, very close to Hakata Station, was ideal. It's a great choice, and I'll definitely pick this hotel again on my next trip.

The room was clean and tidy, and the service was warm and attentive. I had a great stay and highly recommend it! I particularly want to mention that due to my own health reasons, I suffered severe insomnia for two consecutive nights and couldn't continue my trip, so I had to check out early and return home. During the checkout process, a front desk staff member named Zhang patiently and warmly assisted me. He went above and beyond, thinking of everything for me and doing his best to communicate with the booking agent, ultimately securing a successful refund. I want to express my special thanks to him here. I've uploaded a picture of his name tag. I also want to thank Trip.com's customer service for their kind communication throughout; I didn't have to worry about a thing. Their handling was efficient and sincere, definitely a five-star review!

Overall, we were quite satisfied with our stay. The hotel's location is excellent, situated in a vibrant and convenient area, making both travel and shopping very easy. Furthermore, the hotel's overall cleanliness was commendable, with both guest rooms and common areas meticulously maintained.

However, there were a few aspects that left us disappointed.

Firstly, regarding breakfast. We noticed that some items at the breakfast buffet ran out before the serving time ended and were not promptly replenished. For guests who arrived later for breakfast, the food choices were significantly limited, which fell short of our expectations for a hotel of this size.

Secondly, concerning the complimentary drink vouchers. We booked three rooms for a two-night stay and received quite a few complimentary drink vouchers, for which we were very grateful. On our last night, we used all remaining vouchers at once, redeeming over 10 drinks. The drinks were delivered smoothly, and the hotel also provided some small servings of mixed nuts to accompany them.

However, we only received a total of four small bowls of mixed nuts. When we politely requested more from the staff, we were told that the nuts were ”out of stock.” Frankly, this response left our entire group surprised and speechless. For a hotel of its size, located in a bustling area, to run out of even basic bar snacks was truly puzzling.

We understand that mixed nuts are merely complimentary snacks and not a mandatory offering, but such handling inevitably made us feel as if the hotel wasn't particularly welcoming to guests using vouchers. Since the hotel actively distributed so many drink vouchers to guests, we hoped that when guests redeemed them according to the rules, they would receive a service experience consistent with the hotel's standing.

Despite these issues, the hotel's excellent location and good hygiene still added a lot of convenience and comfort to our trip. We hope that hotel management will address the issues with breakfast replenishment and bar service to further enhance the overall service quality and provide a more complete guest experience for future visitors.

Very good hotel with a convenient location, within walking distance from Sapporo Station. The room size is comfortable—not too small—and I was able to open two 28-inch suitcases easily.

Breakfast is served as a set meal with a good variety of choices, and everything tasted great. The staff have an excellent service mindset.

I was also able to leave my luggage at the hotel after check-out while traveling to other areas, and then return to stay at the hotel again, which was very convenient
