The breakfast was excellent, featuring soup curry, caviar, sashimi, sushi, tempura, and even a DIY seafood rice bowl station. Although the selection wasn't vast, everything was incredibly fresh and delicious.

The location is fantastic: just a 5-minute walk from Odori Subway Station. Exit the main entrance, turn right, then immediately left, and it's a short stroll away. (You can catch trains to Shiroi Koibito Park and Hokkaido Shrine from Odori Station).

The hotel's back exit leads directly to Tanukikoji Shopping Street. Turn left out of the back door, walk to Tanukikoji 1-chome, and you'll find Nijo Market.

From JR Sapporo Station: After exiting the ticket gate, walk straight ahead. When you see the area shown in Picture 3, take the escalator down and continue walking straight. The exit is to the right of the sign in Picture 4. Turn right as shown in Picture 5, and then take the escalator up as shown in Picture 6, and you'll arrive at the hotel. (It's about an 18-minute walk from JR Station to the hotel).

I had a very pleasant stay at Richmond Hotel Sapporo Ekimae. The room was clean and well maintained, with housekeeping done every day. Towels were changed daily, which I really appreciated. Even the bathroom was spotless and well kept throughout my stay.

The staff were friendly, polite, and very welcoming, which made the experience even better. One highlight was the breakfast service — it was excellent and is a full meal course. You can choose from six different set options, all of which were satisfying and well prepared.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. The location is convenient, about a 15–20 minute walk to Sapporo Station. Getting around is easy as Sapporo has many interconnected underground walkways, which is especially helpful during cold or snowy days.

The room is compact but has enough space to open luggage comfortably. The location is convenient, within walking distance to the JR station and Kyoto Railway Museum.




The bathroom is well-designed with a separate wet and dry area. The shower area feels like an onsen-style setup, with a space for washing before soaking in the tub — my son and I enjoyed a bath there both nights.




Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. The hotel also provides complimentary items like bath salts and lotions, which was a nice touch.




The Kyoto-style atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. There’s also a popular ramen shop downstairs, perfect for a late-night meal.

This is one of the hotels that we genuinely love to come back to.

The room exceeds my expectations, in terms of the aesthetics and the comfort of the room. It provides confortable pajamas which is a pleasant surprise for us. The size is bigger than the typical hotel rooms in Japanese hotels 

The breakfast buffet is highly recommended and we definitely felt worth the additional fee to opt in for the breakfast, where they provided tasty japanese style breakfast.

The evening drinks and snacks were definitely welcomed and truly introduces us to Japanese snacks and alcohols.

Location of the hotel was decent, with it near bus stations and the train station. It also has supermarkets nearby where we can get our own late night snacks to bring to our hotel room

Richmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel. 

They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient.

It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking.

Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.

The staff were friendly and nice! I asked for their names, but they forgot them again ㅠㅠ When I did my laundry, I accidentally put it in the dryer, so I asked the reception for help, and they were quick and friendly. Thank you!💓
The breakfast was also delicious. They even had local Kagoshima cuisine, so I was satisfied every morning.
