Excellent overnight stay at HND’s Terminal 2. Room was spacious, clean and functional. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Hotel could hold my luggage for 6 days until I come through to collect. Breakfast was a little expensive but spread was decent. The ANA check-in counters were just 20-30 m from the hotel entrance which was super convenient for me to catch my ANA flight to Sapporo the morning I checked out.

The room is spacious for Japan, and the location is excellent with convenient transportation. The corner room offers a fantastic view, overlooking classic street scenes and an intersection, where you can hear the trams coming and going.

We had a great stay at Shibuya Stream Hotel. The service was excellent, and the staff kindly allowed us to check in earlier, which we really appreciated. The location is very convenient and easy to find, with great access to transport and nearby attractions - Shibuya Sky. The room was clean, modern, and stylish. Overall, a very comfortable stay—highly recommended!

The hotel staff are generally helpful. Hotel is accessible to train station, bus interchange, eateries, local market, and malls. There is also a lovely neighborhood park with a lake nestled in Kichijoji. Our family enjoyed exploring the small shophouses lined along small streets in the vicinity. Was surprised to stumble upon several thrift shops and 2nd hand electronic store.

Overall room is generally clean but our bathroom had a strong stench of urine hence, giving 4* rating for cleanliness. Location is good is 5*. One of the reasons I chose this hotel is because the pickup point for the express limousine bus to Haneda airport is just a stone throw from hotel.

The hotel's location is right in the heart of Shibuya, close to the subway station, and there's a bus stop right outside, which is super convenient. The room was clean and tidy. Although there's a train line downstairs, the windows have sliding wooden panels specifically designed to block out noise, so it wasn't noisy at all. The lobby on the first floor offers complimentary toiletries, tea bags, and other items you can take. The front desk staff were warm and professional, which was excellent.

We liked this hotel is near at the subway and there’s a lot of restaurants nearby. But We traveled with our 2 babies 3y/o and 7months and we used a lots of clothes and this hotel don’t have a washing machine 😞. They offer laundry in house but it’s expensive. And then they gave us a 2 twins bed and push it together but didn’t put anything in the middle so my 7 months old baby got stuck in the middle all the time 😞.

Wonderful hotel that goes above and beyond for families traveling with children. From the child amenity kits and pajamas for our toddler to the crib and diaper pail for our infant we felt that every need was met which made for a really comfortable trip. The 7eleven in the hotel was the icing on the cake! We also were able to utilize the Poppins onsite daycare although this is run independently and you should book well in advance of your trip as only 1 day that we requested was available for booking. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

The room is nice but there is no bathtub in the room which is not convenient for us because we have small children with us. The hangers in the entrance right side were covered with dust. There were coffee and water in the room since we have children we hope to have juice for the kids too.
The breakfast was very good, the cook and servers are very polite. The bread and miso soup was very good.

I come to Tokyo several times a year, staying a fortnight or more each time. This time I spent seven nights at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu.

The room faced Hie Shrine. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows I could see the shrine's copper roof and half of Tokyo's skyline. The décor was modern without excess; the layout flowed easily, Bose speakers hidden in the walls, another set in the bathroom ceiling, connected by a 3.5mm jack. The curtains were motorized, though you hardly needed to close them.

The turndown service. I would leave in the evening and return late to find the room changed: only the hallway light and bedside lamp left on, a bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, two chocolates beside them. The evening tea and teacup, previously stored in the cabinet, had been moved next to the coffee machine. These changes were so slight you had to think back carefully to confirm they had happened at all. The temperature and humidity had been adjusted. As if the room itself remembered your habits.

Room service fell short of the ryokan in Hakone or Lake Toya, but well above the ordinary hotel. Each day I made two or three cups of complimentary coffee, played music, read, wrote. In seven days I finished three books. The research ahead began to take shape.

There were drawbacks. No washing machine, but a decent laundromat ten minutes' walk away—a chance to wander the streets of Akasaka. The room provided HDMI and ethernet ports but no cables; for those who came to rest, perhaps a mercy. The minibar fridge was mostly occupied by drinks for purchase, same as the Imperial, though there was still room for my sparkling water.

The day I left it was half past five and fully dark. I could barely make out the faces of the bellhop and the taxi driver. Together they loaded my luggage into the boot. I wished the bellhop a happy new year in Japanese and told her I liked her hat. She smiled and returned the greeting. As the taxi pulled out of the underground drive, I thought of the inns Kawabata once wrote about: what had to be sought in the mountains of snow country can now be reached by elevator from the B2 exit of a metro station.

I have watched the Shinagawa Prince Hotel loosen quietly over time, slip a little. That kind of decline is rarely one great error. It begins the day someone forgets to leave a glass of water, neglects to move a packet of tea, omits a newspaper. As for The Capitol Hotel Tokyu: in Japanese, what I experienced over these seven days is called ちょうどいい.

I had a wonderful stay at Sapporo Stream Hotel from 11–18 April, in a Superior+ room, and it exceeded my expectations.

The room was modern, spotless, and well designed, with ample space to relax after a day of exploring Sapporo. The highlight was definitely the bed and mattress—I slept incredibly well every night, better than at home. The room was also quiet, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped, including a large-sized Panasonic air purifier/humidifier, which was especially helpful in the dry weather.

The hotel location is unbeatable—subway is direct access from the basement, connected to Cocono Susukino shopping mall, and within walking distance of Ramen Alley, Ichiran, EDW pancakes, famous soup curry spots, and Nijo Market. It made getting around and dining out extremely convenient.

I stayed for 8 days and really appreciated the daily housekeeping (not always common in Japan). There are washer-dryer on Level 8 (4 in total). A tip: avoid doing laundry at night as it gets busy—afternoons are much quieter. Using the time to shop or grab lunch nearby works perfectly. Also, don't overfill the machine; slightly more than half full works best and helps clothes dry more efficiently.

Overall, everything felt well-organised and guest-focused, making the stay very comfortable and stress-free. I would absolutely recommend Sapporo Stream Hotel and would happily stay here again on my next visit.

Since it's an older hotel, the facilities and decor are pretty standard. Because of its prime location in Sapporo, the price is a bit high. Compared to a similarly priced hotel I stayed at in Hakodate, this one felt a bit lacking. Plus, they're promoting eco-friendliness, so they only clean every three days unless you specifically request it. However, this hotel is a common meeting point for many tour groups and buses, making it super convenient if you book one-day round trips online, or have ski or airport transfers. The location is excellent, right in Susukino. My suitcase accidentally got mixed up with another tour group's because it's a meeting point, but the front desk staff were incredibly helpful, contacting their driver to bring it back. So, their service is really top-notch.

Good, very good, absolutely amazing! The front desk lady upgraded us to the top-tier suite with the calmest words! The room was very spacious, with a separate wet and dry bathroom, and a large dressing room equipped with bottled lotion and toner. The room also had bottled water and capsule coffee. After a long day of sightseeing, there was even a massage chair! The location is a ten-minute walk from Nakajima-koen Station. Great value for money, highly recommended! 👍

Super great, I really love Tokyu. I'll definitely stay here again in the future. Facilities: Very complete, there's even a fitness room. Hygiene: They clean every day, it's very clean. Environment: Very good, there's a pleasant scent and everyone is so nice. Service: Extremely polite.

Not the kind of hotel that tries to impress you.
This one just quietly does its job… better than most.

Rooms? Small la—Japan standard. You open luggage, suddenly feel like you doing yoga with your suitcase.
But clean. Proper clean. Not “we spray Febreze and pray” clean.

Location ah… this one solid.
You step out, Umeda already hugging you—food, trains, chaos, neon, everything within walking distance.
You get lost also cannot cry, just turn one corner, got 7-Eleven to emotionally support you.

Service? Polite until you feel guilty for existing.
No drama, no nonsense—just efficient like a well-run terminal shift.

I stayed for two nights, which was perfect after a fun day at Universal Studios Japan – I could just come back and relax. The hotel is surrounded by a bustling shopping street with plenty of restaurants and shops. I even grabbed some Sushiro takeout to enjoy back at the hotel. The room was very spacious, and I especially loved the three-part bathroom setup which was super convenient. All the bath amenities were well-stocked too. In the evenings, I could pop down to the 24-hour Lawson downstairs to buy a couple of onigiri to store in the mini-fridge. Each floor also has a microwave, so I could just heat them up before heading out the door in the morning.
