Our stay at The First Collection at JVC was nothing short of fantastic. The hotel offers a perfect blend of modern comfort, warm hospitality, and great value for money. The rooms were clean, stylish, and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay.

What stood out most was the exceptional service. The staff were consistently courteous, helpful, and attentive. From check-in to check-out, everything ran smoothly. The rooftop pool and lounge area at Mezzanine level were a highlight, offering stunning views of the city. There was construction going on nearby which was a little loud, but it was not heard in the rooms. The in-house dining options were impressive too, with a variety of cuisines and great quality food.

Located in the heart of Jumeirah Village Circle, the hotel offers easy access to many of Dubai’s major attractions, while still providing a quiet and relaxed atmosphere away from the crowds.

Would highly recommend to both business and leisure travellers looking for a high-quality stay in a less touristy but convenient part of Dubai.

I like the front desk staff, they are very friendly, funny, problem solving, down to earth. I like the middle eastern style food for breakfast, as tourists this is what we want to experience. The room service is average, I don't need daily cleaning, but I expect water and tea to be replenished daily... The bar, restaurant, cafe, shisha are all good, the service at the pool is also good, I like it and will come again next time

Great hotel/room, staff were lovely. It was nice having the marina and JBW on the doorstep.

Very convenient location in downtown Chicago.  Walking distance to lakeshore and navy pier.  Lots of good restaurants nearby.  The room is modern and spacious.

The location is very convenient, only 2 minutes away from CTA. The toilet exhaust system is not very effective, but it can be used. After we checked in, we found that the children in the next room were very noisy. The hotel communicated with the next guest in time and changed our room. Overall, the attitude of hotel staff is good.

I’ve stayed here multiple times now, but don’t feel like they appreciate my business. No upgrades ever. Asked for quiet room and got one on a high floor. But there was constant noise from the machine closet or elevator. Lobby feels crowded and there’s sometimes a line for the elevator. That said, location is awesome and I love the Nespresso machine in each room.

The slogan is quite interesting: 'Singapore's only hotel where each room can accommodate six people,' under the Marriott brand. Reviews are mixed, but considering a preference for greater comfort, we ultimately chose it. The multiple occupancy is primarily achieved through bunk beds.

**Environment:** Located in Little India, close to the MRT station, and not too far from the airport, the location is very suitable. You can stroll through Little India and visit temples nearby.

**Hygiene:** Clean and tidy, including the bunk beds.

**Facilities:** It still embodies Singapore's characteristic of making the most of every inch. The bathroom is very small, and the room isn't as large as it appears in pictures. The biggest 'bug' is shown in picture 6: the side passage is already very narrow, serving both as an entrance/exit and a walkway, yet a shelf board was installed there. While it provides a bit more space for belongings, you're bound to bump your head if you're not careful. The orientation of this board in our room was different from the pictures; if you get one with that orientation, definitely ask for a different room.

**Service:** Overall very efficient. Breakfast was the most satisfying part, with a customizable menu (five options in total), including appetizers, main courses, side dishes, juice, and tea or coffee. The taste was good and fresh.

**BTW:** The price at this hotel is quite similar to official channels, so if you care about SPN, you can book directly.

There's parking available on the side of the hotel, making airport transfers very convenient.

Pros:
Beautiful Interior Design: The hotel’s aesthetic is moody, endearingly campy with carefully chosen décor that creates a unique and stylish atmosphere.
Comfortable Bed: The bed was a much-needed haven, providing a ”cloud nine” experience after a long day of walking.
Thoughtful Gesture: The staff prepared a delicious welcome cheesecake for our anniversary, which was a lovely personal touch.

Cons:
Cramped Room Size: For the price, the room was surprisingly small, with barely enough space to open both of our luggage comfortably. Although it was listed as 21 sqm, we had to move carefully to avoid bumping into each other or the furniture.
Limited View: Albeit having a window, the only view we had was the sad block of building across and a patch of fake grass below.
Cleanliness Issues: The shower corners had visible mold, which was disappointing for a Marriott subsidiary.
Noisy Area: There was a significant amount of construction nearby, which walking to and from the metro a bit stressful.
Average Service: While service was adequate, it was a bit impersonal. We had warmer welcomes from serviced apartments and 3-star hotels. 
Distance to Public Transport: The nearest metro station was an 8-10 minute walk away, which can feel lengthy when carrying luggage or in inclement weather.

Overall,  aesthetics took precedence over functionality in The Vagabond Club. For the price, we probably wouldn't stay here again and would look for alternatives which provide a more comprehensive service tailored to the everyday needs of the average traveler—especially those who require ample wall hooks and prioritize functional accommodations.
