I stayed at Shinjuku Washington Hotel and unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations.

I understand that hotel rooms in Tokyo are generally compact, but this one felt exceptionally small. There wasn’t even enough space to slide a large suitcase under the bed, which made unpacking and moving around quite inconvenient.

The bathroom design was also problematic—the toilet and bathroom floor were noticeably elevated, so stepping in and out felt awkward and almost like a small jump each time.

The location was another downside. While it’s technically in Shinjuku, the immediate surroundings felt more like a business district than a tourist-friendly area. It was quiet and somewhat gloomy, especially at night. Dining options nearby were limited and underwhelming.

Although Shinjuku Station is within walking distance, the walk felt long and uninspiring, with very little to see or explore along the way. Starting the day with that walk was already tiring, and the thought of carrying shopping bags back made it even less appealing.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially for travelers with larger luggage or those looking for a lively, convenient base in Tokyo.

The hotel has a free shuttle to Disneyland. 
The airport limo bus stops directly at the hotel. 
No house keeping. The rooms are very small. Can probably open one luggage at a time. 
Take note that during winter, the aircon is on heater mode. The room is very hot and stuffy. Only returned to the room at night, hence the temperature was still bearable. If during the day, I think the room will be extremely hot without the aircon.

Stayed one night and liked it so much that I'm planning to return to this hotel tonight after visiting Kamakura. The room is spacious and the transportation is convenient. Traveling with my son, this was a very satisfying stay in Tokyo. I also stayed one night at the Washington hotel nearby, which has A and B buildings. We had unagi (grilled eel) at a restaurant next door; they only serve 10 portions a day, and I got the last one. Couldn't order it for my son, so we had to order from the downstairs menu instead.

My stay at the Akihabara Washington Hotel was quite enjoyable. The location is absolutely fantastic, right next to Akihabara Station, making it super convenient to get there with luggage in just a few minutes – perfect for first-time visitors to Tokyo. There are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so grabbing a bite or exploring in the evening is a breeze. While the room wasn't huge, it was well-designed, clean, and tidy, with enough space for my luggage. The soundproofing was also better than I expected, allowing me to sleep soundly. The front desk staff were very professional, and communication in English was no problem; both check-in and check-out went smoothly. Overall, it felt like a consistently reliable and comfortable hotel, one that you can count on not to disappoint. If your itinerary mainly involves exploring central Tokyo, especially areas like Akihabara, Shinjuku, and Ueno, this place is an excellent base. I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Tokyo.

The service is great, the hotel staff is very polite, patient and attentive. The breakfast variety is also very rich, the hotel hygiene is also quite good, a very satisfactory accommodation experience!

Located on the top of a business building linking to the Yamagata station.

You won’t have to be worried even if it’s snowing or raining.

A side note to travellers from the hotter climate, the hotel doesn’t supply air conditioning during winter. Instead it has a small webbed facility that allows outside air to flow into the room. This slight chills the room. However during the day, the room will be super hot.

Initially we had a room facing the sun and when we checked in, the room is super hot. Called the customer service only to find out they didn’t have air conditioning during winter and we have to rent a fan from them.

After a slight communication, the customer service is kind enough to upgrade us to a bigger room which is slightly cooler. Big props to the customer service lady! 5 stars service !

The whole hotel gives an old impression.
The air conditioning is centrally controlled and the temperature cannot be set.
The bathtub is small and it's not possible to relax in it.
I think there is a reason why it is cheap.
There is a multi-story parking lot behind the hotel where you can park for 750 yen per night.
I think the Washington Hotel in front of Yamagata Station is several times better.

Excellent hotel with wonderful staffs.  The hotel is situated just few minutes from Rinku Outlet and the train station. Once you enter the hotel, the ambience and atmosphere are very pleasant. Though it is close to tain station, hotel also provide free shuttle bus to airport and AEON Mall.  The room size is huge compared to other hotels in Japan, can open two large suitcases at the same time.  Cleanliness and quality is very good, can see the hotel managed very well.  Nothing to complain.  I need to make good comments on Front Desk staffs for their prompt response no matter via email or walk in person at the Front Desk. The story is the hotel using centralised conditioning, in which I cannot stand the heat though with the window opened, the next day when I I check out I informed them of the situation and they quickly solve the problem saying will arrange a electric fan on my upcoming visit coz I will return to stay for one more night after 14 days before my return home flight.
