Hotel near Vieux Port - La Canebière,Marseille
Ideally located in the heart of Marseille, Hôtel Ligo offers a privileged setting to discover this magnificent city. The property features several room categories, all spacious and comfortable, equipped with quality amenities to ensure a pleasant stay. Some rooms feature a balcony with a sun lounger, perfect for making the most of the Marseille sunshine. Each room is equipped with all modern comforts, ensuring a relaxing stay in an elegant setting. Thanks to its central location, you can easily explore the many cultural, historical and commercial attractions of this iconic Mediterranean city, while enjoying the comfort and services offered by the hotel.

"First, the positives: The breakfast was fantastic, and the coffee was great, which is a rare find at this price point. The room had a kettle, and the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! The hotel is a convenient 10-minute walk to the Old Port. The lobby offered free coffee and croissants. I was really worried about service staff in France only speaking French, but everyone at this hotel spoke excellent English. Now for the issues I encountered: Initially, I was given a room on the fourth floor. When I pulled back the covers, I found a significant amount of hair on the pillows, which seemed to be a mix of human and animal hair (this hotel is pet-friendly). Lifting the duvet revealed even more hair, making it seem like the cleaning staff hadn't changed the bedding at all. The front desk immediately offered me another room on the same floor. After moving my luggage, I still found a small amount of hair when I pulled back the covers in the new room. I then asked the front desk for a fresh set of sheets and duvet covers. They offered to move me again, this time to a room on the 6th floor. This room was much better, but the pillowcases had yellow stains on all four corners. I requested new pillowcases from the front desk and changed them myself. One minor concern: The hotel isn't on the main street and is a bit close to the train station, which made me slightly uneasy walking around at night."

"This place was a bit expensive for Marseille imo and paying to hold luggage was definitelya first for me. The staff was friendly, though. There is an itty bitty cafe downstairs but when thr room fill up, it'sa pain to order anything. I was in a room with a leaking sink drain pipe and water got everywhere. B'c there are no towels, I had to dry it up with my own personal towel and then buy a new one for myself. So. I then needed to go to a laundromat which there is ine conveniently around the corner. Pricey. Location of the hostel is pretty close to all transport so it was easy to find. The city is beautiful so I'll come back again."

Located in the heart of the Old Port, the Grand Hotel Beauvau invites you to a sunny, exclusive Marseille stopover. In a contemporary ambience, the historic hotel of Marseille has retained its timeless spirit in the style of George Sand and Frederic Chopin who stayed there. The Grand Hotel Beauvau offers all the facilities for business meetings or to enjoy a relaxing Mediterranean feel.

"The hotel's location is amazing, right in the Old Port, with the balcony facing a row of yachts! They gave me a free upgrade to a two-story suite with a skylight – the vibe was incredible! It's a shame I only stayed one night; I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Marseille."

Sabah kahvaltı için yine 10 dk mesafede Good Time diye bir yer vardı, özellikle naneli çayına bayıldım. Kalanlara bol keyifli bir Marsilya seyahati dilerim."

"Coming out of the train station, head towards Marseille's Arc de Triomphe. You'll know you're there when you see the Arc de Triomphe Hotel; the entrance is on the right and the hotel itself is on the left. If you have luggage, use the side entrance as the main entrance has steps. The rooms aren't cleaned daily, and extra towels come with an additional charge. It gets incredibly hot in the room, even though it doesn't get much direct sunlight. If the price difference isn't significant, I'd recommend booking a room with a balcony. Those rooms face outwards and offer a view of the Arc de Triomphe. There was a bit of a mix-up with my Ctrip reservation. The younger guy at the front desk couldn't find my booking, but the more experienced staff member was really helpful and sorted it out even before Ctrip could. The French lady at the front desk during check-out was excellent, very proactive, and even said goodbye in Chinese!"

This hotel offers excellent value during the August holiday season. Breakfast is open until 11 a.m. on weekends, which is great. It's open until 10 a.m. on weekdays. However, breakfast is often out of dishes and not replenished promptly. I strongly recommend adding a green vegetable to breakfast. 🥬 These past few days, I've had no greens at all. Fruit, yogurt, delicious madeleines, and fragrant crepes are all available. The room, while minor, was cleaned promptly. The area around the hotel is much safer than the old town. The only problem is that the room is on the side closest to the light rail. You'll definitely need earplugs when sleeping, and if you want to sleep in a little longer, you'll need Bose noise-canceling headphones. 🥲 Marseille is a magical place, a blend of chaos and beauty.

Much better than expected! The early flight arrived at 9 o'clock, and the room was ready! Victoria, the front desk lady, was very enthusiastic and spoke good English. She answered all kinds of questions carefully, including various matters about chartering a car to Nice. But the hotel's charter and taxi reservation are a bit expensive (50%+ premium vs. market, I chartered a car for 400 yuan, the hotel quoted 600 yuan; Uber 15 to the train station, the hotel charged 25 yuan...) This may be the only point that is not so ok, but this is an additional service outside of accommodation, so it is not included in this rating. The room facilities are very new, and the inner courtyard is very quiet, I like it very much.

I chose this hotel because it is close to the train station and convenient to take the airport line the next day. The location is very good, just a few steps from the subway station, two stops to the old port. Most of the attractions in Marseille are around the old port. There are not many hotel rooms, the room is not big or small, if you open two large boxes, there is a little restriction on walking. The room rate is early, there are not many breakfast options, there is a courtyard where you can eat breakfast, you can have a cup of coffee in the courtyard.

The bed is quite big, maybe not as big as a king, but two adult women won't feel crowded. The room is a bit old, but it's still quite clean. There is a shower and a bathtub, but the seal of the shower room is not well pasted or old, and it leaks. The balcony faces the port. The rooms with balconies are all on the lower floors and face a road to the port, not directly next to the port. The view is average, and Marseille is always windy in winter, which feels quite tasteless. The breakfast is average. I don't know if there are not many varieties in the off-season, but the restaurant is high and you can see the whole Marseille. The popular seats on the terrace are not open in winter (and it's really cold). The hotel has a basement where you can pay for parking, 32 euros a day, and the entrance and exit are very narrow, so be careful. But this location is convenient for highways. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the center of the old port. The area around the hotel feels safe, and it's no problem to walk back after dinner in the evening.

Second stay at this hotel. Convenient for when traveling to / from the cruise port or airport. The hotel itself is very nice, small but great character and good facilities. We had a double floor mezzanine family room. Great room with comfy beds, clean, good amenities and nice bathroom, fridge, coffee machine etc so everything you need. There are two big downsides to this hotel that are out of their control. The old big French doors / windows look great but are not good at all for sound. We were on the 5th floor and heard cars, sirens, mopeds and people until the early hours and this does impact sleep. The second thing is the area, not a pleasant place at night. Lots of Homeless, rough sleepers and not a welcoming place. For us, simply going there to sleep and be comfortable and have a nice room it was good and we’d stay again, but it is expensive when you consider the area and noise at night vs some other better located hotels in Marseille

The biggest advantage is that the train station is very close. The train station is on a high ground. It is very difficult to pull boxes in the city, such as the old port. It is recommended that the subway taxi is closer. The whole Marseille has various heights and lows. ibis is mainly soundproofed. The sound of other neighbors closing the door is not loud outside the window. Breakfast is really good at this price hotel.
