I recently stayed at the Mercure Melbourne in the heart of the city, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The location couldn’t be better—right in the middle of Melbourne, with shops, restaurants, public transport, and major attractions just steps away.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the amenities you’d expect from a quality hotel. The bed was cosy, the Wi-Fi was fast, and I loved being able to walk straight out into the buzz of the city. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and professional, making check-in and check-out smooth and hassle-free. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of fresh options, and the dining area was bright and inviting.
Overall, Mercure Melbourne is perfect for both business and leisure travellers who want convenience, comfort, and great service in the heart of the city. I would definitely stay here again.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne. The location is perfect – right in the heart of the city and just a short walk to the free tram zone, which made it very convenient to explore Melbourne. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast was delicious with a good variety of choices. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Melbourne!

Overall, the place is fine. The location is good, lots of places to eat nearby. The room was decent and a good space. The shower was a little weird when I turned on the hot water, strange sounds came about and the filling blasting water would suddenly turn into drips. I had to turn the handle further to fix the issue.

Hotel Review – Ibis Central
Rating: 3.75/5
I recently stayed at Ibis Central and overall had a pleasant experience.
Location:
The location is definitely a highlight—conveniently situated next to a major shopping center, which made exploring and grabbing essentials super easy.
Room:
The room was clean and comfortable, with an interesting layout where the sink is placed inside the bedroom instead of the bathroom. We were kindly placed on the 18th floor, which offered great views—shoutout to the reception team for that.
Service:
Reception staff were friendly and accommodating. However, communication with housekeeping was a bit of a challenge due to the language barrier, especially when we tried to request extra blankets and pillows. It would’ve been better to ask directly at the front desk.
Amenities:
Something to keep in mind—there were no complimentary toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers provided, so be sure to bring your own.
Breakfast:
The breakfast was decent with a good variety of options, though it stayed the same each day. The standout feature was the make-your-own juice station, which was a nice touch.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, a solid stay with a few minor inconveniences. With some improvements in guest amenities and communication, this place could easily push closer to a 5.

I stayed at 3 hotels all near Flagstaff stations for this trip, just to try something new and compare. Excellent location and the Flagstaff garden is at the opposite. The Pegasus has a real kitchen and utensils since it's an apartment hotel. No view at all but it's ok for a night's stay. The bed is so soft but so as the Radisson and the Jazz hotel so I guess it's the standard?.. Staffs had reasonable service, but I overheard the guest in front of me checked out 30mins later than he should and the staff were not happy about it at all, like teacher talking to a misbehaved student. Overall it's price for money.

Great location next to the Southern Cross center with a railway, tram and bus connections.
The hotel itself was ok, but they MAKE PHOTO OF YOUR CREDIT CARD what never happened to me when staying in any other hotel all around the world. Basically they have both side of your credit cards (reportedly for deposit) which can be used for any transaction that is totally unsecure and for example in my home country not allowed. The receptionist told me that is in line with their procedure and if I am not ok with it I can talk to their manager.... There is no information about this procedure in their description. Be mindful and better avoid this place for sake of your card security.
Room was clean and ok, they have also swimming pool and small gym.
The breakfast is absolutely disappointing, disgusting coffee and very limited choice of toast bread, jams, scrambled eggs, beans and oats. One of the worst hotel breakfast I have ever seen. We check out hungry and went for proper breakfast to bar nearby...

Traveling to the airport was super convenient thanks to the nearby SkyBus. The hotel also offers luggage storage, which made things even easier for us. Our room was very spacious and looked exactly like the photos—clean, modern, and sweetly comfortable. The bedding was especially nice and cozy.
The layout of the hotel is a bit complex, so it took us a little while to find our room, and it was a bit of a walk from the elevator. Still, once we settled in, everything was great.
We didn’t use many of the hotel’s facilities, but we did enjoy the gaming area located at the back of the lobby—it was really fun and a nice bonus. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay.
I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable stay close to the SkyBus!

My family and I enjoyed our recent stay at Citadines on Burke Melbourne. The standout positives were:
1. Staff Service: Check-in was excellent. The staff were warm, professional, and very helpful, setting a welcoming tone immediately.
2. Room Size: Plenty of room for luggage and for everyone to move around without feeling cramped.
3. Bathroom Amenities: The provided toiletries were nice quality and appreciated.
Items for improvements:
The spaciousness makes this hotel ideal for families. However, to make them truly perfect for families like ours, I'd suggest the management consider offering some room options with two queen-size beds to enhance comfort and sleep quality for parents and children sharing the room.
Despite this suggestion, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay thanks to the great service, ample space, and good facilities. We would definitely consider staying again.

Premium King was the perfect choice. Incredibly spacious, perfect for working out of the hotel in between business commitments.
Bed was comfortable, bathroom and general area incredibly large.
Staff at Flagstaff were friendly, helpful and kind. They assisted as much as possible while I was sick towards the end of my stay.
Very comfortable stay!

Stayed at Ibis Kingsgate for two weeks as I was here to celebrate my birthday. It is my second time staying here; I also came here last year for two weeks and for my birthday!
The hotel is located within a good and safe area - which is great for solo travellers such as myself.
I’ve seen families at this hotel too.
Ibis Kingsgate is within the free tram zone (you can take the 86 or 96), with access to many amenities nearby such as Coles, Woolies, Southern Cross Station (great for when you have to catch the SkyBus), My Chemist, and a range of food and cafe options.
Located at the cross junction of King and Bourke St, the hotel is also walking distance to other popular streets such Elizabeth, Queen, Williams, Colins, Lonsdale, La Trobe, and more! Flinders is nearby too, and you can just cut across to Southbank as well! In fact, you can even walk to Lygon, Docklands or even as far as Collingwood, which I did!
If walking is not your thing, there are also many options for trams, trains, and buses near this hotel.
Room is adequate and clean, with a nice range of television channels. There’s a fridge, kettle and tea/coffee which is occasionally refilled. Bathroom is good too; sufficient and spacious enough, and for some - there’s even a window in the bathroom!
The hotel staff are nice and it’s always great to be back. Thank you for the room upgrade, it made my trip even more special. I returned the gesture by keeping the room as clean and tidy as possible. ;p
Until next time! See ya later!

NNelly11Great location. Right in the heart of the city. If you like to walk it takes 15-20 minutes to get to everything in the city. Staff are very helpful and polite. Access to washing machine and dryer for 5 dollars. Also gym has decent cardio equipment and cable machine plus free weights. Rooms are cleaned everyday. Will definitely recommend.

AamittraWe stayed in Room 1003 at Arrow on Swanston as a family of three—two adults and a child—for a short visit to Melbourne. The location was the strongest advantage, offering direct access to Swanston Street’s tram network and nearby restaurants and a short walk to our daughter’s student accommodation at Scape Swanston. The room itself was compact but functional, with a well-equipped kitchenette suitable for preparing simple meals. Although the space was limited, it was clean on arrival and the bed was reasonably comfortable.
Housekeeping, however, was only scheduled once every four days, and we had to make repeated requests to have the room cleaned. Towels and toiletries were not replenished automatically and had to be collected in person from the reception. Elevator service was also a drawback—there are only two passenger lifts, which were often slow to arrive, and on multiple occasions, garbage bins were transported in the same lift as guests, making for an unpleasant experience. The sofa bed provided for our child was adequate for a short stay but may not be suitable for longer durations. Heating worked well, which was appreciated during colder evenings, and the kitchenette offered basic but useful amenities. Reception staff were generally polite and helpful when approached. That said, the room and some common areas appeared dated and would benefit from refurbishment. Overall, while the property felt slightly overpriced given the service and maintenance levels, it was convenient and met our basic needs for a short family stay.
