Very tranquil all the amentities you need and York centre only 4 miles away with a local taxi firm or nearby bus stop to take you in. The pods are spacious clean beds so so comfy we wish we had booked a week just for the great nights sleep. Barbeque facilities if you need to borrow and a little room with a fridge microwave etc if needed. Everything at your fingertips left feeling refreshed content and fulfilled with our stay , it really is the perfect little get away bless you little hide xx"

The Downe Arms

The Downe Arms

📍 The Downe Arms, 15 Market Pl, Snaith
★★★ 8.2 (57 reviews)

"Room clean and tidy with good facilities such as hair dryer, iron, board and  fridge. Would have liked a bath mat in bathroom and possibly a handle to help in bath for when having a shower. Shower head would not stay in position so had to be held. Other than that very happy with room. Window had a blind as well as a curtain keeping the room dark for a good nights sleep."

The Abbots Boutique Hotel

The Abbots Boutique Hotel

📍 81 Micklegate, Selby
★★★ 8.9 (22 reviews)

"This is a small hotel in Selby, without even a front desk. You have to check in by email in advance and then receive a code to open the door. There's no elevator either, so you have to carry your luggage upstairs to your room yourself. The room is quite large, clean, pretty, and comfortable. The window faces the main road, and the soundproofing is poor; you can hear cars whizzing by. Luckily, we're not light sleepers. Breakfast is simple, packaged food, no hot food, not even a boiled egg. Check-out time is 10 am. I emailed to request a later check-out but received no reply. Then, after the appointed time, someone came to kick us out (yes, we didn't see anyone when we checked in), and said they'd charge an extra ten pounds! They took my email address. Fortunately, I haven't received a payment reminder yet, but I'm still a little uneasy, like I'm waiting for the worst."

Stapleton/Parkgate Cottages

Stapleton/Parkgate Cottages

📍 1, 2, 3, 4, High St, Carlton
★★★ 9.2 (37 reviews)

"It took me a long time to find it. It's a residential house on the side of the road. However, when I went around it, I found that it was a renovated residential house, as if it had been renovated by a sub-landlord. The house had a damp smell and was very unclean. There was no air conditioning, no WiFi, and cobwebs. It was close to the road and very noisy. The overall experience was very bad. The good thing was that there was a supermarket next to it, but nothing else!"

"We had the most wonderful, peaceful time in the Daisy roundhouse which was beautiful, all communal areas were perfect and provided everything that we needed. We had breakfast with alpacas, fell in love with Vulcan ❤️ made use of the row boat around the lake, searched for fairy doors and found lost marbles will definitely be booking again, Wendy and Andrew were amazing hosts"

"Just stayed here Thurs-Saturday. Fantastic little place, defiantly lives to it's name, really peaceful away from traffic very pretty and 10 minute bus ride into the centre of York #40, taxi fare around £12.50. Pod very nice and the bed was one of the comfiest I've ever stayed in. 1 min walk round to the toilet/shower block. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again in a heartbeat "

The George Inn ★★★
"British country hotel, simple folk customs! Safety. It's just that the water in the shower in the room is too fine, and the water cannot be removed well, and it's blocked! Great English breakfast!"
