The Island View Guesthouse is a hidden gem overlooking Charlotte Amelia! The rooms were quiet, clean and well appointed! The food was amazing and eating al fresco overlooking the water was so special! Marshall, Libby and Randall were so welcoming and gave us such great service!

The room was smaller than I expected and the area isn’t really walking friendly nor is there anything nearby however overall it was nice the view is beautiful and there’s a nice pool here that looks over the whole island, as well as a restaurant upstairs, the owners greeted us once we checked in and showed us around the property and there is also an honor area/bar where you can make your own drinks and get snacks.

View is second to none. Lovely meal and sitting area.
Owners are lovely, good breakfast, pool is refreshing, the resident cats are adorable, the property and rooms were clean and comfortable. AC was good.
The only real difficulty was transportation. To have the amazing view provided, means you're up a steep hill from town. The owner, Libby, helped with rides when possible, but otherwise, the taxis are hard to pin down and the road is a bit dangerous to walk. This isn't the hotel's fault, but it is just something you need to consider. You can't just go to a store to grab something. It's $12 "per person" for a cab one way, so just need to maximize the times you use them and the price does not decrease with more people carpooling. Locals are the first to admit, this isn't a great scenario.

Beautiful view and wonderful hospitality. Honor bar and kitchenette in room are so convenient, room was comfortable and clean. Great value. We would definitely stay here again.

This property is located on the side of a hill about 2 km from Charlotte Amalie. Great views if you book a room above the hydro wires.
The property is car access otherwise you can end up spending a small fortune on taxis… many are not reliable for pickup. One also needs phone access as there are no phones available anywhere in the rooms or common areas. The owner was very generous to drop us off in town for dinner.

It was nice to get four fresh towels every day.
The honor bar is a great feature.
Nice to have microwave and fridge/freezer in the room.
Ony downsides: internet was sometimes flaky, water did not get really hot.

Every aspect of our stay from the welcome to the feeling of warmth from the staff to the amenities were wonderful. Well appointed pool area was a plus as were the available beach chairs if you wish to go that direction. We dined with them as they are opening a new food service it was exceptional. The only reason I gave less than five stars in some categories is because the property could be spruced up a little bit but the view is outstanding would definitely return

Libby & Marshall went out of their way to ensure my/other guests needs were met during our stay. The view was great; the lobby was serene and peaceful & the plants/gardens were beautiful. The complementary breakfast and honor bar were very nice. Libby arranged an in-room massage with her masseuse Jane and it was phenomenal. The internet was hit or miss (not their fault though; the issue was due to new provider to the island). Recommend you rent a car, as it’s not so easy to get one and the cost adds up really fast. For any questions or advice, just ask and they will do their best to help in any way! I had a basic room but it met my needs; I plan to return with family and stay in a larger room with a microwave and fridge.
