Valentine’s Day special menu was inventive and imaginative. It was well thought out and very enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive. This menu was more expensive than other local pubs but well worth the extra. The atmosphere was lovely.

A very nice historic pub, with spacious and clean rooms. The bathroom was large and nice, as well as the breakfast being very good. I was disappointed for the price I was paying, for the TV I was provided in my room, hence the lower review

Me and my mum came for lunch on Saturday (13th) and everything was wonderful, I had a lovely burger which was perfectly cooked. I wanted to say a special thank you to the guy who was working (I am so sorry I didn’t catch his name) he seemed to be running, bar, foods orders and service on his own but kept personal and helpful throughout! He defiantly is a credit to the Nags head!! Thank you x

Enjoyed a five-night stay at this classic Buckinghamshire establishment in Great Missenden. Nice upstairs room — a bit small but fine as a home base while going out and about. Main issue was the (very) creaky floor and paper-thin walls. Nice bathroom, small but well appointed. The Nag's Head kitchen is amazing — everything was spectacular food-wise. Well done. Recommended for a nice Bucks stay. -Pawlie.

We were in Great Missenden for a friends 50th and decided to stay here instead of the conference centre at Missenden Abbey and I'm so glad we did. I can't speak for the dinner as unfortunately, we arrived a bit later than we were expecting so didn't have time, which was a disappointment as the menu looked fabulous and if the breakfast is anything to go by I'm sure the quality of the food would have been amazing. Both my wife and I commented that it was the best breakfast we've ever had in a hotel, high quality ingredients cooked to perfection. The only note for improvement would be that perhaps they could have some vegetarian sausages on standby for people who don't eat meat (like my wife) However she did have the rest and they put some wilted spinach on her plate which she said was absolutely delicious. The room was a good size, the bed was comfy and everything including the bathroom was scrupulously clean. If I'm ever remotely near the area again I will definitely be staying there.

Great pub with friendly staff, a real country pub that also serves great food. It's not the cheapest place in the world, but it is worth the extra cost. But don't just take my world for it. Check the Nags Head out for yourself next time you're in the area.

Perfect place to stay after a wedding at Hampden House! We slept very well and had a lovely breakfast, plus the whiskeys looked good - although sadly we didn't get round to trying them! Staff were really nice too. Only drawback was the shower, which was a bit temperamental - it ran hot and cold every few seconds. Otherwise great.

Room and bathroom both compact, but generally very comfortable with useful additions such as water in the room. Bed was excellent. Shower was slightly annoying as it ran cold for one second every 10 seconds. Nice and quiet when we stayed midweek in October but I would be concerned about potential noise from any events in the teepee just outside our room in the summer. Dinner was excellent the Roast Cauliflower was awesome -so good i had it again the 2nd night. Breakfast was great and included fresh warm croissants!

Booked via ********** and stayed the nights 15+16 August 23. Couldn't fault the hotel, food and the staff. My problem is that on checking my account at the end of the month I noticed that I had been charged by both ********** an the Nags Head (plus food and drink) I have been overcharged by £243 and despite several phone calls where they agree and say they will return the money but they haven't yet.
