I was running a two day workshop in the conference facilities here and staying. Isabelle was super helpful with all my last minute requirements. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant was a little slow on service (lunch was +1.5 hours even when we said we were on a tight schedule) but that might just be me needing to slow down! The rooms are quiet (despite a railway right next door) with the front facing having an epic view of lake Geneva.
The location is great, right next to the lake and by the ferry stop. I paid the local tax on check-in and stupidly declined to get a receipt - they'd have noted it. But no, i was asked again for it on check-out the next morning. I went out and stupidly handed my key in. On returning, a group was checking in. My key was handed to them. Luckily they spotted they had too many keys and handed it back. While all this was going on, someone, the restaurant manager?, was loitering around. Surely they'd have been able to give me my key rather than keep me waiting? It was like it was beneath his dignity to deal with the front desk, which is really only a desk in a corner of a bar area. The restaurant was cleared up/set up for breakfast until after 1am. Cleaning started before 7am, including hoovering and clearing the restaurant toilets opposite my room. I didn't have a great sleep. I didn't have dinner or breakfast.

The treatment I received from the receptionist present on Sunday morning overshadowed everything that could have been good. When I told him that the room key didn't work, he sent me upstairs and the housekeeping opened my room and confirmed that the key wasn’t working and that it needed to be changed. I asked once more the receptionist to have a new key, but he insisted it was working good (meaning that or I was lying, or I was not able to use it). He came upstairs with me babbling that the key was working perfectly while rubbing the key on the coat only to discover that the key was not working. Complaining, he came downstairs to change the key and, instead to apology, he added that I had the check out that day and that I did not need the key anymore. From my point of view, such an arrogant and rude behavior is unacceptable in a hotel. The room was tiny, but by reading other reviews, I imagine that the lake side ones are bigger. The bed is a French size (140x200cm) and uncomfortable, and only had one duvet (160x200cm) for two guests. The hotel sells parking cards in the area. I suggest you not buy them: there is a car park two minutes walk from the hotel (Parking La Possession) which you pay from 7 am to 8 pm (it's free at night) and 4 hours cost 5.40 CHF plus 3.60 CHF for each additional hour. It only makes sense to purchase day passes if you no longer intend to touch the car between your arrival and departure. If you use it even just to go to Lausanne or Vevey, you will have to pay for the actual time of use.
Crét-Bérard: a place of dream, beauty, source of inspiration, at an affordable price, where nothing will disturb your rest in clear, clean and beautiful rooms, where the food in abundance fills your papillae, and where the staff - at The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. Indeed, one day, when I arrived, he just answered my greetings and that did not even look at me. And after having made a service I thanked him, I heard him say in my back: ”Thank you not!” But perhaps he had not heard or retained my thanks... That says, This exception cannot keep all the well-affirmed about Crét-Bérard.
Great views from all over the place over the lake and mountains. Friendly staff. Good choice at breakfast. Dinner was excellent. We had the alpine salmon & the chefs ravioli. Good service. Reception gave us a tourist card for discounts on several attractions. Parking free & in front of the entrance. The rooms are partly in need of refurbishment but for the price thats what we expected. Its difficult to sleep with open windows as they close from the wind. We placed a shoe like that it worked out. The floor in both rooms had gaps.. why does the hotel accept this. The floors dont look to old. Windows are old. We had some smashed moskitos on the sealing. Was difficult to shower without making the hair wet as there is always coming some water out of the rainbow shower even when using the hand shower head. The kids loved to watch the animals in the parc. Overall a good experience.
Especially suitable for leisure trips with children. Ctrip currently has a low score. The cogwheel train going up the mountain is amazing, and the dynamic mountain and lake scenery is unobstructed. The hotel is located on the pelerin mountain, with a wide and beautiful mountain and lake view, which kills some grape terraces and internet celebrity bars😊. The lobby, room balcony, restaurant, and swimming pool are all viewing spots. I feel that breakfast is too expensive and it’s not worth saving. I ate bone-in steak at noon at the hotel’s barbecue restaurant. In the evening, I ate the Japanese restaurant tempura ramen (delicious) and teppanyaki beef (average). The bone-in steak was delicious. There is also a deer park on the roadside at the entrance of the hotel, a children’s playground, and children will also like it.
Excellent location, beautiful hotel, clean, large rooms with all the comforts. nice staff. Good breakfast buffet. Recommended by location and for the structure. Accompanying a great shop of handicrafted chocolate. 2 steps from the lake.
