The Great Mosque

It is jointly constructed by the Third Engineering Bureau of China Construction and China Construction Algeria Company. The total contract amount is US$1.5 billion. It is the largest project currently undertaken by China Construction in Africa. The project covers an area of more than 400,000 square meters. After completion, it will become the third largest mosque in the world. The 265-meter-high minaret will become the tallest mosque minaret in the world after completion. At the same time, this super-large building complex also includes a prayer hall covering an area of 20,000 square meters, a library with a rich collection of books, a cultural center, a Quran Institute, a parking lot, as well as 12 buildings such as the management center, dining area and several gardens.

Its tower is 92 meters high. The entire tower is shaped like three palm leaves that stand obliquely from the outside to the inside. It is said to symbolize the three revolutions of industry, land and culture, so it is called the Three-Leaf Tower. The three leaves meet at a height of 45 meters. There are 5 floors above the intersection, 4 of which are used for communication, and the first floor is for visitors, overlooking the Bay of Algiers and the entire city of Algiers. There is a statue at the root of each of the three leaves, representing the resistance movement, the national liberation struggle and the image of the National People's Army soldiers in Algeria's history.
