It's a Relais & Châteaux hotel, but this was the only room available when I made the reservation. I didn't expect it to be so small. If you can afford it, book a larger one. It's comfortable to stay in and there's a Michelin restaurant downstairs.

The environment is very good! Very cost-effective! But you need to drive to get there. Suitable for self-driving guests. The breakfast is also very rich and clean.
The hotel was hospitable with very friendly staff however location wise it was quite far from the places I wantes to visit however it was close by to the town centre with many halal restaurant suchs as lake raj. Overall it was a pleasant stay!!!
The hotel is located on the mountainside of the lake. It is an old-style British hotel with a history of more than 300 years. Extra beds can be charged for children with children.
The environment is great. You can see the lake when you go out. It is the hotel's private lake view.
The room is also large and the hygiene is good in all aspects. There is no elevator, but staff can carry luggage.
But it is more suitable for self-driving friends. There are very few bus trips and you can only take a taxi. In the Lake District, there are only local taxis and no Uber.
I especially recommend this hotel, a old English villa, which is newly renovated and British style. It is very clean and full of toiletries. It is 3 minutes away from the town by car. The room can see part of the lake view and the surrounding environment. Very good, I especially like their afternoon tea, the tea set is very exquisite, and I look at it with great care! Part of the breakfast is buffet, and the main meal is à la carte, with a large portion and enough to eat! If you have children staying with you, you must tell the hotel in advance that the children need to charge a fee of £28.50/piece/night! This fee includes breakfast and extra bed. If it is not stated in advance, the fee will still be charged, but there will be no extra bed!
Expresso capsule coffee is provided free of charge in the room, which is my favorite. Those who like coffee are very surprised!
The main building of the hotel is a white three-story building. The interior and exterior of the room are well maintained, clean and tidy, with beautiful scenery and quietness, suitable for vacation! Most of the staff's services are very good. There is a handwritten welcome card in the room, and the supporting items are very complete. If you stay in a room with children, you will have to pay an extra 35 pounds per night, but breakfast is included. It is a relatively expensive room in the Lake District, but we like it very much. The only inconvenience is that it is a bit far from the center. It is more convenient to drive, but taking a taxi is slower!

Outstanding
GGuest UserStayed two nights in the ”Cosy room.”
Room was abit small but lovely and well presented, although I felt the room it's self wasn't fully cleaned. Their was a few cob webs on the ceilings, quite abit of rubbish under the bed and the shower had abit of mould on the sealant around the shower door.
Breakfast was lovely, with lots of variety and polite and friendly waiters.
AAnonymous UserGreat hotel with a decent location in the middle of the Lake District. You can walk/ cycle to Ambleside which is 5 miles away. Low fells are easy to hike for great views of the area around.
The hotel is more like a private house with rooms. We got a small suite with bedroom, bathroom and living room. We could just about see the lake from the living room.
The bathroom only has a bath and no shower head which was a difficulty for washing hair. Except for that it was very well organised.
Breakfast was at a nearby pub - The Good Sport. It was a limited selection on the menu: full English, breakfast rolls, toast or porridge. You also got a 10% for dinner in the pub too.
22031771270It is a perfect hotel with a great view. The layout and lighting at every angle are designed with meaning. You can take great photos no matter how you take them. You can see the lake from the hotel. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel, so it is convenient to go anywhere. You can also call a taxi. It is worth staying!
Ffollow523meVery satisfied with the YHA Youth Hostel!
Facilities: very clean and easy to use. There is a sink in our room, and it is very comfortable to wash your face with hot water. The bathroom and shower room are very close, clean and easy to use. There are two kitchens, both are very large, very clean and very convenient!
Hygiene: very clean, very satisfied
Environment: right by the lake, very convenient for viewing. We lived in the attic on the fourth floor, and when we woke up in the morning, we found the morning mist in the lake, which was very beautiful
Service: very good, very satisfied
Ssun.9Temporary transit overnight hotel, just down the main road, the parking lot is large, convenient parking! There are also many travel brochures at the front desk for guests to read, it is recommended to stay!
Rrita-forever1. Location, the hotel is just by the lake, but it is a 30-minute drive from Windermere, and it is far from the Lake District. 2. Some rooms can accommodate an extra bed, 15 pounds a day, including breakfast. 3, the hotel is large and has a lot of parking spaces. 4. The meal is great, classic English. 5, the hotel toiletries are good, is the British Royal Development Supplies MB, the bathroom's heating rack is open in the summer, the towel will be done overnight. Great
XXiyechengI saw 167 square meters on Trip.com. It was a pocket room. It was too far from the city center and scenic spots. There were few buses and self-driving was acceptable.
GGuest UserA bit far from Windermere town. Limited parking space. Luckily I arrived early and managed to get a parking lot
Good full Cumbrian breakfast. Room and bed is ok except that the room heating needs improvement.
