Friendly in English. Most foreigners stay. The room with bathroom and toilet is impeccable. The hotel recommends Japanese massages very unusual. The breakfast and dinner portion is suitable for ordinary girls. Morning and evening meditation has no English/Japanese background to feel the environment. It takes a little 15 minutes to walk from the main street. The hotel has a paid luggage service, which is convenient for people who need to walk to the next stop.
The location is very good, clean and tidy, the morning class is relatively simple, and there are no activities such as meditation and copying scriptures. On the whole, it is completely fine to be used as a hotel pure accommodation, but there is not much atmosphere of the temple.
This temple stay is amazing. Vegetarian breakfast and dinner was great. The morning prayer and fire ritual was great to take part in. They also offered an afternoon mediation tutorial. There was a night tour for the cemetery, however I did not take part. It was a little concerning that the English tour was ¥1000 yen more than the Japanese tour. Overall I highly recommend this place.

The location for a spiritual purification journey is excellent. Across the road is Tanshang Jialan, a complex of ancient buildings among thousands of woods, which is very spectacular.
The rooms at Sochiji Temple are very large, with one bedroom, one living room, and a separate bathroom, but the bathroom is a public bathroom with a hot spring. This is their style and a very special experience.
The vegetarian meal is like kaiseki cuisine, with many courses served in order and taking more than an hour to eat.
The service staff are very enthusiastic and nice!
The hotel and the rooms are large and comfortable inside, and there are many places to visit. Breakfast and dinner are both super delicious. Be sure to experience the Japanese temple's Shojin cuisine. There are two kinds of hot springs. I think the carbonated spring is cool and very comfortable to wash in. There is access control at 9pm. The staff speaks English.
It is said to be the imperial residence of Emperor Toba and Empress. It has a beautiful environment and the hardware is new and clean. The location is good, in the middle, you can walk to major attractions in ten minutes. There is a short uphill walk to get off the bus.
I booked a Japanese-style room with a bathroom. I stayed in a room on the second floor. There was a small entrance hall, a sink, and a small bathroom at the entrance. It's very cold in Mount Koya in winter. With the air conditioner and heating on, the room is very warm.
The breakfast and dinner of Shojin cuisine are very sumptuous. In the morning class, the master will lead the chanting of sutras and incense, as well as Azi Temple meditation. If you want to participate in the fire offering, you need to make reservations at other temples. There are dedicated people who come to the room to take meals and morning classes, and the service is very considerate. I’ll come back next time during the red leaf season.
Very good, not far from the Jingangfeng Temple, dinner and breakfast for the vegetarian meal is also very delicious, half an hour of early classes, a lot of foreigners. It is important to note that dinner, morning classes and breakfast are subject to time. It must be said that the travel experience of Koyasan exceeded expectations.
If you never try temple stay this is a must.
Cons side u only bath once a day from 4pm to 8pm. With 4 person sharing the same bath tub.
Upside the room given is so luxurious and night dining in room. But as this is temple expect all vegetarian.
Cool stay at a monastery in Koyasan! As far as I understand, Shojoshin-in is one of the larger temple lodgings in Koyasan. Our room had an amazing view (koi pond and forest) from the tea room. All our basic needs are met including amenities. They served authentic Japanese vegan meals; I particularly enjoyed the dinner as it had a large variety of small dishes. Keep in mind this is Japanese style lodging, where you have a shared bath with other guests.
A short walk from Ekoin, very hospitable and friendly service. Room is big and clean with heater provided. Public bath is big but there’s only one so have to reserve slot. They have fire goma ritual everyday for guests and also sutra writing for free provided. Very recommended temple stay!
