What a fabulous place to stay. A beautiful Art Deco Building right in the centre with easy access to the Medina, shops, restaurants, railway, etc. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly from the Reception to the dining room staff and housekeeping. On arrival we were allocated a room on the lst floor at the rear of the building. There was a small block of flats not far from the hotel building where unfortunately there was a dog that barked a lot of the time which included late into the night and very early morning. It appeared to be left out on the balcony. I don't know what the hotel can do about this but it is a problem. The next day we were given a room on the 3rd floor at the front of the building. So thank you to the gentleman at reception who arranged this. It was perfect, no noise and like the first room was of a decent size and comfortable. The breakfast spread was great with hot and cold dishes and a lovely selection of cheeses, breads, pastries and much much more. A true feast. A well deserved Excellent rating (despite the barking dog) and we will definitely stay again.
The property has potential however overall I did not have a successful stay. Upon check in I was advised that the room had a shared bathroom. The owner advised that he had a room with a private bathroom but this was more expensive. He advised me to cancel the original reservation and re-book the en-suite room and he would authorise a refund via ********** for the full cost of the original booking. I did this with great difficulty, as to why this could not have been sorted locally I am still unsure! Anyway ********** emailed to advise the owner had not waived the cancellation fee for the original booking. When I approached him he stated they had not contacted him. I wasted two days of my holiday dealing with this. The owner then said that as the second booking was made using a promotional rate (but still much higher value than the original booking) he wanted me to give him the amount of the promotion back in order for him to agree the refund of the original reservation - basically blackmail. It was clear he had not responded to ********** intentionally and this was part of his game to extract more money from me. Added to this the hotel had no heating on my first night and was not comfortable. The owner spends all of his time chain smoking in the kitchen - yes Kitchen! Meaning the whole place smelled of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was very basic and of poor quality and finally the photos on the website are not recent and not a true reflection. I do not recommend.
This hotel is located in the center of Tunisia and is an old hotel. As soon as I entered the hotel, I saw the big boss of the hotel supervising the work at the front desk. The boss also walked back and forth and helped with the management of the hotel. This was very impressive. The boss is polite and warm. I booked a suite this time and it was very clean and comfortable. The most unique thing is that there is a stool in the bathtub. This is specially arranged for the elderly or travelers with limited mobility. This is very thoughtful and deserves praise. It was very peaceful to sleep at night. The suite has a balcony with city views. The room includes meals, and the food is local specialties and delicious. I will stay at this hotel next time I go to Tunisia.

Negative: The moquettes are dirty and sliced as the restaurant seats. The ”quad” and ”pirate boat” services are poor and priceless. The real pirates are in the hotel ...A avoid ... The restaurant is very supermarket cafeteria. Although some supermarkets do much better. The price of the week is too high for the service and the country. The tourist has to pay and he does everything for. Positive: The staff is mostly sympathetic. The swimming pools are low (1m) but pleasant. The beach is in contact with the hotel.
Very nice little hotel.
Centrally located.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Rooms were very clean and equipped with air conditioning and tv equipment.
Car could be parked in the associated underground car park.
Again any time.
The hotel is set at 3 stars at best, but safety is the first priority. Breakfast is average. The environment and food in Islamic countries cannot be complimented. It only costs 20 dinars from Tunisia airport to this hotel, but the airport rental is too bad and charges 50 dinars You, especially the hotel’s parking taxi drivers, must take pictures and keep them in order to avoid complaints when they are cheated. I have issued a taxi license number for a liar. Don’t take this liar’s car.

Great location and very kind staff, let me check in early and left me in peace for the duration of my stay. Hotel is a little dated and amenities are a little basic but it’s cosy and has nice views. Balcony door didn’t open but wasn’t too much of an issue. For the price and location this is a good option.
The hotel is very new, the equipment is good, the most nice thing is that the hotel staff has no problem in English communication, and the room is automatically upgraded to a suite, giving a big surprise.
Rooms are very small and very basic, like a jail cell with one very tiny window. Rooms temperature is controlled by the management so they choose if you get air conditioning or not. So when it’s hot outside, your room is very very hot too but when you tell them, they act like it is the first time they are hearing it; don’t be fooled, they know exactly what’s going on. Service in the front desk with the exception of two people is completely non-existent and you have to try very hard to get service and responses. The girl in the front desk with the black hair is usually smoking in the back office and playing on her phone and the restaurant staff have to tell her to come out to serve at the front desk. The other blonde haired girl, her name starts with A, is very mean and rude to most guests Omar and Asma are very nice. Housekeeping is super slow and not organized. Restaurant staff provide no service at all, not even a greeting. If you ask a question, they clearly are not happy to be disturbed from playing on their cellphones. They hide in the corner and gossip all throughout the meal service and play on their phone. It is not walking distance to the Old Town, it’s quite a walk so be very prepared to walk or take a taxi. Use Bolt Taxi and drop the price 3 dinars if you want to negotiate a rate. Airport to hotel from departure area was about 7 dinars but you can get it at about five dinars. Food is horrible at the hotel but they do serve an overpriced breakfast buffet. Outside it is very Sandy and dusty.
The rooms are large, beautiful, ok in a little hilllot style, beautiful bathrooms. The girl with the reception is very nice, I don't understand these criticisms. Most of all about the price. Of course we are not in George V in Paris, but we pay 15 times less!

The hotel is newly opened, modern and clean. The staff is helpful and management is doing wonderful job paying attention to details. Food not that good and options are limited. Clean and comfortable standard rooms. Location is at city center, good for business and tourism.

GGuest UserTunisia is definitely cheap. To eat, make gasoline, shopping... However, hotels are not really gifted. At least, not if you book from Italy, via Booking and looking for a minimum quality/price ratio. This hotel, 10 minutes walk from Porte de France and therefore from the entrance of Medina, has a good quality/price ratio and is perfect for the city to be revolving. The rooms - we had a triple - are large and functional. The comfortable beds. The large and well-organised bathroom is also good, the hygienic level is good and the breakfast is different in the price. The reception is open h24 and for those travelling in a small car there is a custodian parking.

河河马小姐1I lived twice for a total of four days. The first time the quilt was already used, the other bird's hair was above, and it was good to go to the front desk to clean up. After an hour, I didn't come up, but I found it again. The waiter didn't come for 2 hours before and after. Finally, he found him to remove all of our sheets, quilts, and pillowcases. I didn't come back. It took only two and a half hours to change the quilt. The result was not changed. The second time we made a suggestion before the check-in, it was really clean, but there was no breakfast but didn't remind us. We had to check out and told us to add 120 yuan for breakfast. About 200 people were famous. To be honest, half a person in Tunisia. Different hotels living in the month, her family's breakfast is small and poor, the variety is very poor, the place to eat is as big as a public toilet, 哎

How can you-Hotel ibn khaldoun allow your own staff or persons connected to Harass and Disturb guest(just as myself) because some government officials(fbi, tunisian officials) have told you to bother and surveill me? You had your staff use an unoccupied room(s) below my room and Blast the television to the max volume all through the night for over 10 hours!! I addressed this issue with the reception desk person-Methlouithini and some other of their ”colleagues” and they lied and stated that the targeted, blatant noise disturbance from rooms 714, 716 would be resolved and it wasn't. Obviously, I will Never stay at this establishment and implore everybody else never to patronize this hell hole Ever!
GGuest UserThe hotel is old and cheap but the receptionist was friendly and informative. There was no security guard at the entrance. The room was full of dust, there were holes in the bed sheets and they were dirty as well, I had skin rush due to that. The mattress was so stiff and hard, I woke up with a back pain. The air conditioner was not working so was the room was boiling during the summer I felt so insecure during my stay I'll never book there again. Not recommended!
