What a spot! Amazing hotel- hidden gem in the area! Amazing personal, food and of course the view! The hotel filled in with Art, it has a little art gallery and each corner is a master piece. Rooms are very well equipped and have very comfy beds. Also, it has a lovely gym and few pools. The pool area is fantastic, it has views on both sea front and green valley. So definitely good choice!

We loved our stay at Trogon House and Forest Spa, a beautiful retreat deep in the forest. The architecture is stunning, like a Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece, all glass and stone and hand-hewn wood beams with gorgeous furnishings all built into the treetops and connected by elevated wooden walkways. One of the advantages of visiting in the shoulder season is that we were the only guests and had the chef and butler to ourselves for dinner by the fire (food was excellent, personalized service even better). On site massage was a nice treat as well. Highly recommend staying here!

I would love to give 4.5 stars and if we came in summer it would be 5 stars. The gardens are stunning specially the aloe garden and the peaceful, mossy path leading to the chapel. The staff were wonderful and the open glass conservatory for breakfast was the most beautiful breakfast room we have ever experienced. The olde-worlde accommodation felt cozy with the weather cold and raining but with the fire raging. But because of the large amount of rain there was a damp smell in the room. One of the staff later told us it was the thatch roof being a bit damp and I wish they had told us that earlier. With the rain having stopped the small was better the next morning. Our only criticism was the blanket placed on top of the duvet. I know it was to keep us warm in cold weather but a beigy-brown blanket did not give us a “clean” feel.

GGo34061996212Lovely hotel with fantastic reviews overlooking the bay. Choice of pools (neither of which were busy when we were there). Friendly staff, clean rooms, powerful shower, generous in room drink/snack selection. Free parking outside. We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast food and drink choices were plentiful and tasty with generous portions. We ate out in the evenings, as there were several restaurants we discovered that we wanted to try. We had a car but always walked. The hotel is at the bottom of a hill (but atop a cliff) so the walk to the centre is uphill but not far so doable for most people. The only downside to our stay was that our room was above the front door and we could hear noisier guests coming and going late at night. Having said that, if we were in the area we would be more than happy to stay there again.
My partner and I enjoyed our stay at Formosa Bay. Generally, my desires in booking accommodation are minimal. There must be cleanliness, space in the room and at least, access to Wifi and a decent amount of channels to watch on TV, beyond the basics. Formosa Bay provides all of this. The resort also has a small restaurant set up and breakfast comes with ”vouchers” which off sets some of the costs. You can also order alcoholic beverages and set out on a deck overlooking a beautiful, natural landscape. I found the service to be kind, from reception through to those working in the eating area. The food was also of a good quality. I admit we did not take full advantage of all the facilities. There are 2 pools and a gaming area. There are also tennis courts. The location is also a 5-10 minute drive from the sea. It's located right on the N2 for travelers passing through Plett. We stayed there during the Christmas season and enjoyed ourselves. If interacting with diverse guests are your desire, then that is not what I experienced. I do not know why. But this could also have been the timing of our stay, which was during the Christmas season. I would definitely recommend this resort. We stayed on the eastern side of the resort. Not all rooms have self-catering services so ensure your booked room includes this if that is what you need and desire. Oh, something strange happened for a Christmas traveller. We requested clean bedding but the staff were away for the special days. We received a note saying no cleaning was allowed. I understand respect for Holy Days but do believe that service should continue nevertheless. Pay staff more during this time. What if the bedding was cleaned with spilt coffee or something? Does that mean no cleaning or clean blankets or sheets? I went to reception and eventually got service, even though I was told they ”might” help me ;)
VVin.CGood nice and new hotel with nice bf .. located on the main road … there restaurant super market within walking distance to the hotel .. big room nice deco as well .. stop over night .. pretty ex for the room in South Africa but this is at Peterson bay .. with all the riches anyway 5/5 for the hotel will recommend to frd
The rooms were spotlessly clean, spacious and full of amenities (mini bar, kettle, sherry, biscuits, safe for valuables, quality toiletries). We had a beautiful view of Robberg Marine Reserve from our large balcony. The lodge had common areas to enjoy the view outside. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was superb, with lots of choice of delicious hot and cold items. The Bed and Breakfast offer was good value. We had lunch two days, which was just the right amount of food and very tasty. The only negative was the evening meal. We were a group of 8. We ordered several different mains. The chicken was overcooked and tough. The caprese salad tomatoes were almost white they were so unripe. The pasta dish and pork belly were reviewed as tasty. We went to another restaurant the second night. It was a restful vacation. I would return, but not eat the evening meal in-house.
