The Dama Rose Hotel is located along the main Barada River just outside the Old City Gates of Damascus. It has a really nice outdoor Swimming Pool with an attached restaurant that happens to serve one of the best Fish & Chips in all of Syria! Chef Ahmed has been serving both this restaurant and the hotels Room Service for well over twenty year’s. He still prepares each dish as per his specialty with: great elegance; flair and most flavorsome taste! The service at this restaurant is very professional and very fast with both Nabil and Ghayth working there for many, many years. Finally, the prices are very reasonable. This was only my first visit this season to the Dama Rose, but I know it will not be my last of this season. So, if you yearn to enjoy a very relaxing day in the sun and to enjoy a great lunch you must try the Dama Rose Swimming Pool and try their amazing restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Trust me!

5***** hotel that although it has certainly had better times, right now it is still a very interesting option in modern-day Damascus. With dozens of people working, all very willing to help and serve customers. The reception is spacious and there are usually no queues or problems getting attended to. The Lobby bar has the essentials and, like the rest of the country, is quite cheap. The Lobby has an air of exclusivity that is unfortunately something strange in the Syria of 2023. The rooms are spacious, discreetly well equipped, good quality of bed but poorly insulated from outside noise (which is not usually loud fortunately), it needs double glazing as corresponds to a five star. The shower is correct but old, as is the TV and the furniture in general in the hotel. It has a small but interesting commercial corridor on the ground floor and basements of the hotel. I couldn't comment on parking, although the surrounding areas of the building were always almost full. The breakfast is too sp**** for a five-star hotel, it needs much more variety (and a little more quality), the best thing is the service of the breakfast staff, attentive to any request.

The hotel with all its services is very good. Except for one thing, which is the swimming pool. There may be a system that is unfair to tourists, as if we live in France and not in an Arab country. He has a 12-year-old daughter who wears a veil and wore modest but modest swimwear. But unfortunately, they prevented her from swimming under the pretext that the pool rules are only for those who wear a bikini (exclusively). But my question is, what is the fault of the children who are required to wear the legal hijab and want to play in the children’s pool? Why is this hatred? Why are these laws for hotels that are unfair to tourists? Whoever set these rules for hotels, I hope those who have a decision to pay attention to this comment. Thanks.
