Delighted to find this lovely hotel in Aalst, very close to the train and bus station. Full of old-world charm unlike so many cold sterile hotels today. The proprietor Christophe was very welcoming and helpful. Spacious room, with very comfortable bed and armchairs and everywhere very clean. Lovely garden with seating to enjoy a drink from the honour bar. Great buffet breakfast included. If you like warmth and character, this hotel is for you. Thank you Station House for a lovely stay.

Excellent location. The owner was very helpful with directions around the village and suggestions for dinner.

The property itself is a grand dame getting a bit tired in a very elegant fashion. Reminds me of French Quarter, Louisiana USA. Or the set from the movie "GiGi" with Leslie Caron, right down to the draperies and furniture. I loved it. If you like Ibis hotels, this is not for you. You are better off to pay for staying in a larger room on a lower floor, rather than the 3rd top floor, aka, the attic. Parking is not good. Like all of Belgium, ppl drive and park like *******. If you find a spot near the hotel expect to pay 4 euros for 2 hours (Max time) from 9am to 7pm. Credit/bank card only. Sunday free. Usually you are going to have to walk to the hotel. I was travelling alone, and it got creepy in the dark. At times, I felt like running.😳 Although the cleaning staff was very kind, I could never get a handle on about what time they would knock. I denied them a couple times because it was not a good time for me. The owner asked when I was going to let them in to do maintenance. Probably when I am not in the shower. The following day they didn't knock, just left supplies at my door. Confusing. Breakfast was perfect! Sum it up...elegant quirky hotel in an active city. You will hear sirens, trains and ppl all hours. The community areas show better than the rooms. Parking is horrid, the staff is very nice. The owner is on premise and quick to assist. The breakfast offered is high quality. And they have a private garden. CCTV cameras are in the bldg.

Het is een hotel met een prachtig verleden. Van een rechter naar een textiel eigenaar tot een internaat naar uiteindelijk dit prachtige hotel. Waar je kijkt zie je oudheden. De hotel eigenaar is reuze behulpzaam, heeft samen met mij de parkeerplaats mogelijkheid laten weten. Uitgebreid alles verteld en ook over het hotel verleden wist hij veel. Het slapen was op het prima tweepersoonsbed geweldig en heerlijk rustig. Ontbijt met erg goede koffie verse broodjes en zonodig nog zelfgemaakte eitjes. Gekookt of roerei. Het is een ervaring op zich om eens te boeken bij dit als hotel vermomd museum.

We waren hier voor de t****e keer in het kader van het poëziefestival "Literaire Living" in de naburige bibliotheek Utopia. Het hotel heeft een nostalgisch kantje met een heerlijke overdaad aan allerlei beeldjes, ornamenten en meubels. De kamers zijn comfortabel. En ... wat belangrijk is: de bedden hebben uitstekende matrassen! Het ontbijtbuffet is heel verzorgd en overvloedig. In de ontbijtzaal heb je trouwens een mooi uitzicht op de tuin. Een klein minpuntje. Voor wie niet zo goed te been is, moeten er onvermijdelijk enkele trappen worden beklommen.

Ik heb inmiddels behoorlijk wat ervaring met hotels, maar dit verblijf zal me zeker in positieve zin bijblijven, dit hotel is echt een "topper", in verschillende opzichten! De ligging was voor mij (die met het openbaar vervoer reist) optimaal: op enkele minuten loopafstand van het station, maar ver genoeg van het stationsplein om geen enkele overlast hiervan te ondervinden, het hotel ligt in een uiterst rustige straat. Het historische centrum van Aalst (bijvoorbeeld de Belfort en het Gasthuys) ligt óók vlakbij, nauwelijks 5 á 10 minuten loopafstand. De inrichting van het hotel is prachtig klassiek, men waant zich echt ruim 100 jaar terug in de tijd! Ook mijn kamer vond ik stijlvol ingericht, en had verder prima voorzieningen (doucheruimte, uitstekend bed, televisie). Ook de ontbijtruimte was smaakvol, en het ontbijtbuffet prima (met zelfs, naar wens, een vers roerei geserveerd). Nee, er viel mij niets tegen, integendeel. Zelfs de details "klopten", bijvoorbeeld een gratis flesje water bij aankomst (helaas geen vanzelfsprekendheid meer in hotels, is mijn ervaring...), en een gebruiksaanwijzing bij de televisie (die inderdaad wat lastig op te starten was, maar juist daarom was de gebruiksaanwijzing zo attent!), het zijn die kleine dingen die een hotelverblijf net even wat "meer" geven. Normaal staat hotel station of hotel de la gare garant voor een wat shabby, verlopen en achteraf hotelletjes. Vaak wel weer centraal gelegen bij het station en centrum. Maar dan met alle stations- en cerkeerslawaai van dien. Niet in dit geval. Hotel Station In Aalst is een uitzondering op bovenstaande regel. Een aanrader. Het heeft de grandeur van een oud luxe hotel van het begin van de 20e eeuw. De inrichting is klassiek, maar absoluut niet versleten of verlopen. Het is een lust om in de gemeenschappelijke ruimtes te dwalen en te zitten. De tuin is eveneens beschikbaar. De kamers zijn erg ruim, met een heerlijke ruime zit. In ons geval met 2 fantastische oorfauteuils de bedden modern en goed. En het is vooral overal super proper. Gewoon erg goed en dan zijn de 2 belangrijkste pluspunten nog niet genoemd. 1e De eigenaar is heel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. 2e En de prijs is erg prettig.
