We just loved this hotel. It's been lovingly restored, with great attention to detail, and the owners are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was a treat, too. I just wish we'd had a longer stay and more time to enjoy the cozy lounge areas. We hope to come back soon.

The place was dreary and dark. Room was clean but Spartan. It was unwelcoming, cold and unpleasant. The people there were lovely and tried really hard but really have no idea how to run a hotel in todays world. First night no heating and no hot water. Surroundings were run down and badly kept.

The building is architecturally beautiful with much history to recall. Unfortunately it seems the hotel has not regained the standards that older reviews mentioned. The restaurant is now closed. Breakfast was simple and modest. The owner (the only staff on hand) was preoccupied and available at most, minimally. It was disappointing as the hotel clearly once offered much.
