Just a last minute getaway for our anniversary. Easy and quick check-in. We had a great suite at a very good price. The remodel is beautiful and everything has been updated without losing the charm of the Irish countryside. A great hot breakfast was included at the pub and the evening entertainment was great.

It’s a really nice and clean. The restaurant is really good. We stayed the weekend of Christmas and both Friday night and Saturday night bands were really good. We really enjoyed our time there

I booked a room at the Irish Cottage Inn & Suites for a solo trip for my birthday. I wanted some quiet and alone time for myself, and the Irish Cottage Inn was perfect! The staff was wonderful from check-in through my whole stay (very friendly and helpful since it was my first time in Galena). My room was very clean and comfortable, it looked as if it was recently updated, bathroom and sink area were very clean. The free hot breakfast is nice to have each morning (it is in the attached pub, Frank O'Dowd's), and the "tea time" each afternoon is lovely. I particularly loved the Library Room, beautiful wood, comfy chairs - I spent a couple of afternoon reading there and was one of the main reasons that made me choose the Irish Cottage Inn. There is also a lovely day spa on-site, and I treated myself to a facial on my birthday. The Inn is also close (less than a mile) to Galena's Main Street so you can enjoy all of the shops and restaurants without being in the "thick of it", and go back to a quiet evening at the Inn. I loved my stay here, and would definitely stay here again on my future trips to Galena!

The room itself was nice and the potential of the entire property to be enjoyable is high but some things were lackluster. The restaurant was not open on Sundays despite being advertised as such and the pool/hot tub is being resurfaced which is all well and good but I would have liked to have known that before swiping my card for the resort fee and deposit. I would stay again but only during peak season when I presume more things are open and available.

AS A BAR OWNER I OBSERVE THIS.
BARTENDER SPENT MORE TIME WITH EYES DOWN AND MANNING DISHWASHER THAN BEING CERTAIN PATRON GLASSES WERE KEPT FULL AND CASH REGISTER RINGING.
WHISKEY PRICES ARE OUT OF LINE WITH BOTTLE COST AND INDUSTRY PROFIT MARGINS. PRICING TOO HIGH SO WE GOT A BEER AND DID NOT BUY OUR USUAL TWO ROUNDS OF DOUBLES ON THE ROCKS. 100s OF DISTILLERIES MAKING WHISKEY. FACTORIES MAKING THIRSTY CONSUMERS?
ALL ELSE WAS QUITE NICE.
