I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Malmaison Edinburgh city hotel, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home.
The hotel itself is simply stunning. The interior design is stylish and contemporary, with a touch of elegance. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the beautifully decorated rooms to the cozy common areas.
Speaking of the rooms, mine was nothing short of luxurious. It was spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The bathroom was also top-notch, with modern fixtures and luxurious toiletries.

Not too great. Stayed at most of them before and found them ok and this one I didn’t like at all. The rooms were too dark with no option to set lighting so my partner found this difficult for make up. The bar was small for the hotel size and lacked atmosphere. Room lacked any shelves or draws and the wardrobe didn’t leave room for long hanging. Breakfast was not great except the eggs which were lovely. Overall we were underwhelmed from arrival to leaving. It wasn’t a cheap stay and not being value for money. The location however was excellent.

Good location. Our discount for parking was 80 pence! Overall good service. I don’t like the Malmaison decor. Sorry Malmaison you are a bit tacky

Rooms are poorly lit, so much so with all the lights on you need your phone torch to find your stuff on the floor. There was also an old bottle of wine left open in room cupboard. The young long black haired girl on the reception couldn’t lift her head off her hand to say bye when we were coming in at night, then she did the same the next day when leaving, just a mumble whilst looking down fiddling with her chain or something, poor attitude. The Breakfast was cold both days even after we asked for it to be cooked longer as the black pudding was like warm and doughy. Yet it came the same again, clearly hot held, nothing wrong with that though but ensure it’s hot enough and use warm plates. Especially when the hotel so quiet. Every year we go to Edinburgh for birthday and stay somewhere different, can’t recommend here. Only the location is excellent.

Really enjoyed our stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Bartender made the best long island iced tea ive ever had. Very clean. Very comfortable. Would recommed to anyone. Worth the price.

Great location , hotel and staff. Excellent breakfast, generous room , good shower and a comfy bed.
The only issue is the room lighting coupled with dark colour pallet in the means it’s not great period but really bad for any use of a mirror . Wife could not do hair or makeup , not a good recipe for a completely relaxing stay 😀😀😀

Staff were pleasant and helpful. Cooked breakfast very good but the coffee machine was broken and no one seemed very bothered. Room was comfortable but oh so dark! It was completely depressing to be in and impossible to see properly in the bathroom at all where the look was concrete underground car park. The public areas were much the same so we went out. The location for other places to eat and drink is excellent.

Hotel is in a great location and rooms are a large size compared to most. May be difficult for someone who is disabled to get around due to stairs and lifts not available on all floors. Room was dimly lit and staff seemed a bit frazzled. It was a nice hotel for our brief stay.
