The hotel is close to the center, has good WiFi, the staff is friendly ...Now the food leaves a lot to desire, basic breakfast and very bad dinner!! Incoming we received washed soup two consecutive days , main meal gave us papa pastel (acceptable) then pizza ( 4 squares per person) , before last day fideos with meat picked up (acceptable was not Bologna sauce , just picked up , The fideos were white) last day ...Polenta with the same white-hacked meat up , we lifted up and we left .We were not given a single piece of meat or chicken throughout the week .

Large hostel close to bus terminal has a lot of information for travellers and can arrange morning bus excursion to Perito Moreno glacier for you. Friendly and helpful staff. Uber clean areas throughout. Personal power points  and light at each bunk plus large slide out storage underneath that you can lock with your own device. Never need to wait for toilet or shower as they have large bathrooms with 6 cubicles and 7 showers for men and I presume for women. Decent breakfast of many types of breads with jam, cakes, cereal, cut fruit, juices and coffee & tea. Had to pay extra for towel. Curtains around each bunk would stop the bright light from one bunk disturbing person in opposite bunk. The images for men and women on bathroom signage are similar. I had to look twice  and a girl ended up in the men's shower room when I was there.

We were on arrival in Calafate in room 24, nothing out of this world for a 2 star. The people in a group on the avenue were very festive and tormented us through the night. However, upon returning from Chaltén, we got room 5; The bed was a cot, the mattress was old, they didn't change our room or the mattress. In the morning when using the dryer it was BURNED. We asked for another one...it didn't work either. The rest acceptable, I repeat: 2 stars.

Excellent location, very close to the main avenue where all the restaurants, shops, coffees, bars are located. Staff was very very friendly and helpful. In my opinion the breakfast could offer more fruits, honey and eggs. And the checkout time could be later…. 10:00AM is too early for a checkout.

This was the least favorite of the all hotels we stayed in on our trip, but on the positive side we found the desk staff to be extremely helpful and kind. The hotel is very basic. The photos on Tripadvisor make it look really good but in real life the place is on the edge of shabby. We like simplicity but the rooms are spartan. Little conveniences are missing - like a shelf in the bathroom, a large mirror in the room and a bench for a suitcase. Things like this, that are standard in other hotels, are forgotten here. It has a motel feel. Sounds echo across the hotel and you can hear even normal level conversations. The breakfast is also basic because the kitchen is tiny. There is a steep downhill/uphill walk to the center of town. On the upside, the rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and the staff is very helpful. It's a decent enough place but completely unremarkable in every way. If I return to El Calafate I would stay elsewhere.

Breakfast is OK, the room is large, all-wood structure, the flowers and plants in the home are good, a few steps to overlook the Argentinian lake, the town style, there are several restaurants on the side, walking to the long-distance bus station, the town center is not Calculate far.

THE GOOD: The hotel is beautifully decorated, with a great ”elevated mountain lodge” vibe. The lobby and restaurant area are beautiful, and breakfast was tasty. Having a pool and sauna was also nice to unwind after a long day of hiking. The bedroom was large and comfortable. The hotel is not on the main ***** of town but a short 10-minute walk away, so it's no inconvenience. THE NOT SO GOOD: The level of service was definitely not up to par with the price/category of the hotel. At those prices you expect attentive, effective service and that's not what we got. They seemed overwhelmed and unprepared, and they made various mistakes throughout our stay (prepared the wrong lunch boxes even though we made sure 4 times before that they had gotten the order right, mistakenly gave our room key to other guests who entered our room, etc.). None of it was that important, but their reaction made us feel like we weren't important to them at all - they even said they'd send complimentary gifts to our room to apologize, which they never did (thus making the matter even worse). Overall it's a good choice for lodging in El Calafate as long as you don't have crazy high standards regarding service.
