The service was outstanding! The hotel offers a turndown sevice. The breakfast is good. The hotel itself is very beautiful and our room was big with a lot of storage space. I highly recommend.

Old and smelly. A brasserie that’s not open on Sundays. Worst fried breakfast I’ve ever had. Looks posh and luxurious online and probably was 30 years ago, but in reality it’s just old.

The hotel setting and the Spa is perfect, however the hotel service was appalling.  Lack of trained staff, cold food and service that was absolutely diabolical.  It is definitely NOT fine dining.  Would never go back.

I had a delightful stay at this traditional British-style hotel. The beautifully manicured garden was a serene escape, perfect for a leisurely stroll. A magnificent place, a huge castle with wonderful public areas, a private church, and excellent dinner and breakfast. We had room 32 with a balcony – absolutely stunning. The balcony with its forest view alone was worth the trip. We had a bottle of champagne from duty-free – glasses and ice were brought to our room promptly upon a call. Overall, I loved everything. By the way, the author of Winnie the Pooh was born in Ashdown.
