Great hotel. Our room was large and very up to date. Parking was right near the front door. Perfect. Our meals at the pub restaurant were very good. (as well as the beer)

Very expensive for an old hotel that's falling apart. During our stay the hotel had no hot water. There was no air conditioning or fan in the room which got very hot and uncomfortable at night. The location is 30 minute walk from the town, but there is a good restaurant on premises. The swimming pool is nice and a good size. Ben Nevis is a 10 minute drive away. Would not recommend for this price unless nowhere else is available.

I absolutely recommend. The place is great, food is great, and rooms kept clean and tidy.

The location is convenient, with a supermarket just a 4-minute drive away. The room was a good size, and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, both the rooms and facilities were quite dated.

The hotel is looking and feeling very tired and dated and in serious need of upgrading.  They’re charging 2025 prices for 1980 standard services.  They clearly cater for bus tours and large parties which are not there to appreciate where they are and their surroundings.  There was serious problem with running hot water in the room as well as in the showers in the spa.  I overheard many guests complaining about no hot water in their rooms at reception.   Breakfast was very disappointing, they offer a continental selection of one type of cold meat and one type of sliced cheese with pan loaf bread!  Fort William boasts artisan bakery’s so no excuse there.  During breakfast very loud 80s movie themed music is blaring, the dining room is so big there’s practically a speaker above every second table.  When asked to turn it down we were met with a standard reply, “I was just asked to turn it up”. Totally unbelievable.  Due to the large parties tables are not cleared fast enough nor cleaned, we had to clean and set our own table before we could eat and this is where we were directed to sit. Waiting staff are clearly not trained nor directed appropriately for a hotel boasting a high standard.  We were not encouraged to dine in the hotel at all. The exterior of the building is not only showing signs of disrepair but is also very dirty. They are missing the B in the main signage and is the first thing you see on arrival.   Positives:  the room was clean although all views from most rooms do not look out onto anything nice.  Temperature of the pool, steam room and jacuzzi excellent.  The lounge bar appeared to have the best atmosphere and felt like a highland hotel. Would I recommend this hotel? Definitely not!   Would I stay there again? Definitely not!

Enjoyed the heated pool, steam room and sauna. A little far from town but taxi easily available

Too bad the hotel has no elevator, you have to carry your luggage up to the the room on upper floor

Very good location to city center and other attractions. Good service, also the swimming pool and jacuzzi were clean and was warm.

If you want the full fawlty towers experience then this is the hotel for you. A bit of a calamity throughout the whole stay… from a half cut receptionist to the bad food, this was not a good experience. I would call this hotel nothing more than a ‘truck stop’ and I felt sorry for the bus loads of tourist that were checked in and expecting to experience a Scottish hotel… what they got was a poor experience, much like mine. How do I know, I heard them complain

The double room had two beds pushed together, but one was missing a leg because it was broken, making it lower than the other. We asked to change rooms considering the price we paid for two nights (about €450), but there was no availability. They fixed the bed the next day. Both late at night and early in the morning, we could hear the noise from the showers upstairs, making it impossible to sleep or not be woken up.

There are swimming pools, fitness facilities and restaurants. The parking lot is large enough and free. I feel that this is rare during my nearly one-month self-driving trip to the UK. The service is warm and meticulous, and the stay experience is good.
