WeBase Hakata Hostel

It was a nice stay, people were typically quiet. It was definitely a lot of people there in the same room, but most people were very respectful. The breakfast was also really nice to start your day off well (toast, vegetable juice and some cereal I think). They also have a large book of their recommended places to visit/where to eat if you want to browse. Overall nice hostel, although a bit too many people in the rooms so you would have a certain level of noise.

Loved the location; it’s a 5-minute walk from the nearest subway (Nakasu-Kawabata station). It’s also near Tenjin area. Eating and drinking are not allowed in the room; encouraged to eat and drink at the lounge on level 9. The lounge has a kitchen (complete with stove, cooking utensils, oven toaster, microwave and fridge) so you can cook or heat up your food there. They also have some brochures and guides (love the ramen recommendations!) at the lobby and lounge, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is provided from 7 - 9.30 am, which is nice too. It’s a simple spread of bread, milk, yogurt, cereal, fruit juice and soup. Shower rooms are located on level 2, while there are bathrooms on every floor (if I recall correctly). The downside is that the walls are thin; sometimes I could hear people in the corridor. There’s also only one lift, so sometimes I have to wait a while for it.

Theme of the hostel with a cat is really cute. Showers and toilets are very clean and smell nice. Breakfast is poor but lounge area is really nice! Even have a smoking area

The Hostel is located 2 min from the subway station, and 15-20 min walking from Hakata Station. The capsule/pod is very spacious, with a adjustable light, hangers and a blackout curtain. I liked that even closing the curtain the capsule wouldn’t get hot. There are lockers for small bag and important items and also a designated area for bigger bags and coats. The bathrooms in the dorm were always clean. They have 2 shower rooms based on gender. The shower room has a minimum if 6-7 showers. They have baskets to place your clothes and personal items. Before the shower, there is room for changing, it is wide enough it can easily fit 3 people. I noticed the shampoo bottles were always full/refilled. Dryer and some extra amenities were also available at the shower room. The lounge is really good, the ac worked perfectly, enough chairs and tables to eat or work, and even bigger tables for groups. As expected they have information for tourist but also assorted books and mangas, even some in english. The kitchen is well equipped (oven, microwave, stove, plates, hot water, etc). The breakfast was simple but fresh. The first floor has a room for bigger luggage and also they have a washing/drying room, just make sure to have 100yen coins, if not ask the staff to exchange cash. TBH i can’t think of a negative experience, the staff was always friendly and ready to assist, they spoke perfect japanese and english. After checking out i visited another city but ended coming back to fukuoka and making a reservation in this hostel again. 100% recommended.

It is nice that we base provides daily morning snacks(even though the choice is really limited). And I love the fact that new towel is given daily as well. The set up of the mixed dorm is pretty nice and there’s multiple clean restrooms on the same floor to use
