The Granite Luxury Hotel Penang

What I like about this hotel are the following - location, automated parking, provision of shuttle service to breakfast spots since the hotel does not offer breakfast. Their staff are also very helpful as they offer advice (such as whether to utilise morning shuttle service to breakfast spots, how to use automated parking within the hotel) and suggestions to guests. Upon arrival at the check-in counter, their staff offered cool drink to guests and this is what I observed sets itself apart from other hotels. The room is comfortable too and having 2 aircon units at separate spaces and ability to turn off is a plus. The view from the pool is nice too. Overall, it is an enjoyable stay and there is nothing that I do not like.

The front desk service of the hotel is very good. It will speak Mandarin and Cantonese. It will tell you where the main push is in Penang. In the evening, you will put sugar on the bed. The parking space is on a first-come, first-served basis. You can buy a parking ticket. The afternoon tea is very good. Very good, a lot of food nearby

Have stayed at many shared rooms in my years of travel, but this place has to be my favourite so far. Apart from the pretty interior aesthetics, the staff here are some of the friendliest people you will meet in Penang. Special shout-out especially to Peter and Pauline who are more than happy to take care of whatever needs you would have, even if it is just a casual conversation with you while you are sitting along the common corridor. Was also lucky enough to have very friendly roommates, with whom I had a lot of funny and chill times chatting late into the night, despire my short stay there. This hotel has everything which is needed to facilitate a relaxing and wholesome atmosphere to facilitate new friendships and stories to be shared between travellers, before we each move on the our next destination. Will definitely be back again should I find myself travelling solo in Penang in future, and hope to relive similar experiences which make solo travelling and staying shared rooms so fun in the first place, and of course to catch with Peter and Pauline again. God bless the both of them, and all the staff who made the stay so memorable
St. Giles Wembley Penang

Located in the heart of George Town, the hotel offers a blend of modern luxury and local charm, making it a great base for exploring Penang. Check-in and Service: The check-in process was quick. We able to early check in because the room was ready. Rooms: The highlight for me was the view from my room—overlooking the bustling city. The rooms were quiet, ensuring a good night’s rest. Facilities: The hotel features a beautiful outdoor pool with great views, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. I also had the chance to visit the fitness center, which was well-equipped. The on-site restaurant offered a variety of both local and international dishes, and I found the breakfast buffet to be particularly impressive. Location: The hotel is located in a prime area, just a short walk from Penang’s vibrant street art scene, and it’s easy to explore nearby cafes, shops, and cultural sites. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler to Penang, the location is ideal. Public transport also easy to access since it was near to Komtar Overall: St. Giles Wembley Penang offers fantastic value for money with its top-notch service, modern facilities, and central location. Whether you're in town for business or leisure, this hotel is a solid choice for your stay in Penang.

It started off rough. Got into the hotel early to leave our luggage and the guy manning the check in was cold, standoffish, and didn’t even bother replying to our pleasantries. When we returned, a misunderstanding ensured. Cos of my earlier encounter, I was just unreasonable. But thank goodness for Suhaila (I think) and her manager - they deescalated the situation with grace and aplomb. That bump aside, I had a lovely time. Was in room 213. Initially I was worried because I have read about noise issues coming from the club next door. But either the club was closed or the soundproofing worked, there were no disturbances. We slept like babies. The room was beautiful, and the location is amazing. This hotel is highly Recommended. Just don’t bother to pay extra for the breakfast. That was just too sad. We tried it on our last day in the hotel as we were leaving early for the airport. It was dismal.
