During my recent trip to the coastal city, I had the pleasure of staying at The Oceanview Resort, a hidden gem that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a special experience. The resort offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and exceptional service, making it an ideal choice for both relaxation and adventure. Location and Ambiance The first thing that struck me about The Oceanview Resort was its stunning location. For those who enjoy staying active, the resort has a fully equipped gym, and a variety of water sports activities are available on the beach, including snorkeling, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Dining Experience Dining at The Oceanview Resort was an absolute highlight. The resort offers several dining options, each with its own unique atmosphere and menu. I had the pleasure of enjoying dinner at the beachfront restaurant, where I was treated to a delectable array of local seafood and international dishes. The fresh catch of the day was prepared to perfection, and the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and making sure every detail of my dining experience was flawless. For breakfast, the resort’s buffet offered a wide range of options, from freshly baked pastries and tropical fruits to hot dishes made to order. The morning view of the sun rising over the ocean while sipping a cup of freshly brewed coffee was the perfect start to each day. Customer Service One of the standout features of The Oceanview Resort is its exceptional customer service. From the moment I checked in, I felt like a valued guest. The staff went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable, offering personalized recommendations and accommodating special requests without hesitation. They truly made me feel at home, which added a personal touch to my experience. Is a good hotel, at a very convenient location, near and short to Macalister street and gurney. Staff are super friendly and nice. Just one thing the room sound proof are not that good, can listen next door loud chatting or alarm sound. Overall still ok with the hotel

The suite we stayed in was located at the building next to the one where the hotel lobby is. We stayed on the 7th floor but could hear the sound from the street loud and clear. Not advisable if you have babies with you. The wifi was not reliable too. The utensils and kitchenware are available upon request. There is a microwave, small fridge and coffee machine in the kitchenette.

St Giles Wembly is a great hotel to stay in. I stayed for 3 nights and it felt like home. Sheets and bed were soft and comfortable, floor and furnishing were kept clean after housekeeping cleaned, and the lifts come really quickly. I also loved how the front desk and the staffs were always very welcoming and warm, making every interaction like speaking to a friend. While the hotel looked old, furnishings are very well maintained. For instance, the ventilation in the toilet was so good that the floor dries after a few hours. My only gripe is that while the water pressure is strong, the hot water doesn't come immediately, instead it takes a good 5 mins of running water before I get some form of warm / lukewarm water. The waiting time does get longer after midnight, where the water is just ice cold. Weirdly, the bath tub water gets warm faster than the shower? Which was kind of weird. I also had the opportunity to try the breakfast buffet. While I saw plenty of reviews commending that the breakfast is good, I believe it was sufficient for a local taste, and provided enough quantity. However, the buffet setup was quite cramp and unevenly spaced. The hotel also hosts a bar on the roof, which had a nice view of the city. I ordered a Guinness Stout and got the server to pour for me. I ended up getting a flat stout 🫠🫠🫠. Nevertheless, my stay at St Giles has been great, and I would love to return in the near future.

Thé hôtel is superb. It provides everything that I need. On top of that the view us wonderful and we share the same view as E&O at a fraction of E&O’s price. I can even see the fireworks on sat 23/11 and sun 24/11 during the Penang international dragon boat Regatta from the 18th floor. So awesome

Insufficient lightings and feel dark in the room & bathroom. Bathroom water stagnantly after shower, makes the floor wet all the time. The shower head water sprinkle everywhere, should install the removable shower head. Uncomfortable shower experience.

A stylish and classy hotel, strategically located near Little India, art area, food museum, all are a few minutes away. The jetty is about a 15 minute walk. However as a solo female traveller, all the adjacent streets are dark and quiet so didn’t feel comfortable walking around after 21:00. Room was cosy and nicely designed, bed was comfortable, and the free mini bar and sweets left in the jar daily was a lovely touch. Breakfast was ok, but the in-room food service was excellent and meals were fantastic. The room also has a water filter, saves buying bottled water. All staff were pleasant and helpful. The views from the rooftop pool are great, albeit the pool is on the smaller size. Enjoyed my three nights and would recommend the hotel.

Really love the location of this hotel as it is walkable distance to all the tourist spot such penang art street, esplanade etc. Also nearby to most of the restaurant, cafes, 24 hours mart etc. The room is spacious and also love the rooftop of the hotel as you can see the view of georgetown.

It’s our maiden trip to Penang and I honestly did not have much expectations but our holiday was off to a GREAT start right from arrival. while we looked at photos and write-ups prior, the room was so much larger than we thought. the King bed is 3m wide which is much more spacious than what we’re used to back home—wonderful for us cos we were travelling with a 4yo. We also hadn’t realised that our room came with lounge access for evening drinks + snacks so that was a nice surprise. The view on the rooftop was breathtaking and we had some really nice photos taken. Guests also get to access the sister hotel’s facilities, which is a short buggy ride (or walk) away, so that was another pleasant surprise. the pool at G hotel Gurney was more varied and fun for the child, so that was another plus. breakfast spread is also really good. If we were to come back to Penang, i would not hesitate to stay with them again.

Love the vibe at Kim Haus so much !! The environment there is so creative and antique, you can see lots of wooden-designed stuffs and amazing paintings there. I highly recommend that people should sleep over at there as you can enjoy yourself in the performance of the bands there, drink some alcohols and just chilled........ The rooms of Kim Haus are just so right and warm.......
