We had a great stay at the hotel.
Location is okay, 20-30min walk to downtown.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Staffs are really nice and helpful and with heart too.
Breakfast is nothing to write home about...
We recomend you to stay here.

This is a beautifully decorated hotel and although hidden in an alley, is tastefully decorated. The staff were very helpful and helped book our cruise to Yangshuo the next day. They also stored our luggage as we were checking out the next day and going to Yangshuo. The only suggestion I would make is for the luggage to be stored in a secure area as it was left in the open to one side of the dining area. Also, we were in a hurry to catch our cruise and I sent my daughter to order breakfast to save time whilst I did the laundry. However, as the reception staff were the same people preparing breakfast, the breakfast order was not taken until they had finished showing me the laundry area and how to use the machine so although they tried to be as quick as they could and were very pleasant, we had to pack our breakfast up to finish it later. However, they were always very helpful and pleasant, and the delay was only due to staffing levels and breakfast being cooked to order, so factor some extra time in to account for this.

The man at reception who speaks English is a scammer when it comes to excursions. First, he tells you to book the river excursion through him for 350 yuan, when the actual price is 220. Then, when we asked about booking it on our own (to save some money), he told us it would cost 300 yuan—80 yuan more than the real price—and that we’d have to book it far from the hotel.
After doing some research, we found out the real price and tried to book it ourselves, but since it was all in Chinese, we went down to reception to ask for help. There was another guy who tried to assist us, but he ended up calling his boss (the same receptionist from earlier who speaks good English). The boss said he would only book it for us if we paid him an extra 90 yuan.
I found this behavior despicable and felt constantly deceived by him.
Room was okay, but remember he will try to extra charge you for everything!

Very nice hotel. The room was a good size, very clean and comfortable, amenities are great. Location is great, only a 15 minute riverside walk to the Twin Pagodas and food street. Staff were super helpful and friendly, speaking English, suggesting things to do in Guilin city and organising the river cruise down the Li River. I guess they add on a small amount to the price but its definitely worth it - you just meet at reception at 8am and they drive you to the pier and get tickets for you, so it's organised and saves lots of hassle. I can recommend doing the cruise from Guilin down to Yangshou and spending time there/Xingping, very beautiful. They offer breakfast for an extra cost which is convenient for my early start (but local food is better taste and value). Overall very nice place, no faults.

We couldn't recommend the Riverside Inn highly enough!
The owner is very kind and speaks perfect English. He was so helpful in supporting us to plan both our time in Guilin and a riverboat trip to Yangshuo.
The location is perfect, walkable from the train station, overlooking the river, and close to Elephant Trunk hill.
The room was spotlessly clean, large and comfortable. Our room had a great view of the river.

A great place to stay. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and a very quiet location. East to reach main attractions. In our experience the local restaurants were better and cheaper than those on the main tourist street.
