2-Star Hotels in Hamburg

Stayed in a single room, then switched to a 6 man dorm on the final night as it was Sunday and was expecting it to be very quiet. The single rooms are spartan and there is not even a chair, just some little stuffed stool. The issue in Hamburg is that accomdation is expensive in the city. For the same money, you could stay at a very nice 3 star hotel in many European cities! The 6 man dorm seemed quiet and ok, and then I noticed the issues. There were beer stains on the floor that acted as adhesive for my shoes. Crumbs and discarded sweet rappers in and around the bed. I had the room to myself so didn't complain. Settled for a decent night's rest. That's when someone came in at midnight (Sunday) and loudly stomped around, turning on all of the lights. They then took a shower and took their merry time settling into bed... For the price the rooms are not up to scratch. However, there aren't many ”cheaper” alternatives in Hamburg and the hostel (that charges hotel prices) know this. The check-in service was tedious and there's a queue at check in time. When I switched rooms to the 6 man dorm I said I wanted an early checkin to the that room if possible, and on the quiet side of the building (non motorway). They said no problem. Then, when I went to the room, it was of course on the noisy side. Went back and had to wait a couple hours longer before I could access the quieter room that I had asked for. The customer service is not great. They'll ask for your booking number even after you tell them your name. I did not feel like digging around for the number so I said my name and they searched for it (much to their distain probably).

Stayed here for Valentine's Day and had a really nice stay. Our private room had a really nice view over the rail tracks where you could look out and enjoy the trains going by. Only complaint is that it gets pretty loud early in the morning. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend this hostel/hotel to anyone visiting Hamburg. The location in particular is amazing, we were at most 25 minutes away from any of Hamburg's main sights. Will be staying A&O again in the future, for sure.

Typical Ibis with the style of room you would expect if you have stayed at an Ibis hotel before. Location wise it was close to many bars and restaurants and short stroll from St Pauli U-bahn Station. Only had small interaction with staff and found them helpful. In summary modern hotel in good location.

hello I am writing to complain the service of this hotel. I arrived in Hamburg airport at 11 PM 7th April, and I made mistake by taking taxi to the IBIS budget Hamburg city (IBHC) while the hotel my assistant had actually booked was IBIS Hamburg airport (IHA). I didn’t realize I made a mistake until the moment I stood in frond of the reception of IBHC. Because I was very late, almost 1AM in the morning of 8th, so I asked the reception guy to help me communicate with IHA, asking for cancelling the IHA reservation and booking IBHC instead, for the sake of 9 hours exhausting travel. He was very nice to do so. Unfortunately, the reception of IHA ruthlessly refused to cancel my reservation, and I had to take taxi back to airport where the IHA is located. What I really didn’t understand was, why 2 IBIS hotels under the same management in the same city could not simply transfer my reservation and I don’t mind to pay the price difference or extra, as I explicitly told the IBHC reception. In fact, I had paid more to IHA than in IBHC that night if I was allowed to be transferred. IBIS was not taken advantage by me. If we think about that German, as a catholic people, refused a exhausted guy who had travelled for 9 hours and was willing to pay any difference, simply because he booked the hotel, I would say I am really disappointed. Such thing would never happen in Shanghai, where people typically don’t have religion. Best wishes, Godwin

Close to the central station, clean rooms, friendly staff, Not the best area but felt safe, close to all transport, will definately use again, was allowed to leave baggage at reception after checkout time. Could not fault the room and facilities, Lift available, but stops between floors so would have to be able to walk up 10 steps to room. Did not have breakfast but it did look good. Have stayed in many budget hotels in germany, this one is my favourite,

As expected from Inis the hotel was both clean and comfortable. The staff were wecoming and the buffet breakfast was ample. One minor complaint, as I had heavy luggage, was that there were around ten steps to navigate to reach the lift.

Maybe we were on the date but we paid a very expensive price, under the week and without breakfast. One night in a very simple, small double room for about €200 is not in proportion to me but for us the location was crucial (because of an event) and the alternatives even more expensive at this date that is important for us ... Of A few b and b we already know, this was the least according to our taste although everything was OK in itself. Parking is free on the parking place right in front of the door! Ubahn Habichtstraße is only 350m away. We had a quiet room backwards toward the football square. There are actually only little things like hand towels, lightly flack bed linen, small make-ups on the furniture, such things. At the check-in it was also really unfriendly (above) and unorganised, that was not a nice entry. By the way, no goodbye is and remains a very simple, minimalistic accommodation and should also be bookable at such a price. If you get a good course (e.g. room price from €75 as they apply for it!), it would be just as well. Breakfast 10.50€ we have not used, ten minutes walk away you have beautiful options, although of course much more expensive, individual and high-quality. Depending on whether you value it now. We have not opened shopping opportunities directly in the surrounding area but if it is urgent, snacks and small stuff can also be obtained at the reception or in the tank next to.

very good! The church on the nearby hillside has a great feeling!

Very friendly and premature staff! Also extra service (early breakfast for the children) was offered to us. A mattress had a great place, but this was also repaired immediately! Super location, centrally located in front of the doors of the city. You come with the metro everywhere and there are even 2 large shopping centres directly nearby. All in all a very nice hotel also for families!
