Friendly and helpful staff. Disappointed they don’t serve food on a Monday but another hotel close by did so wasn’t a big issue.

We arrived to a friendly welcome from staff and they did everything to give us an enjoyable stay but the hotel is tired and needs a refurb. Our room was clean and a bath was a bonus but we couldn't get the shower to work and the radiator didn't work either although we were provided with a portable heater. The curtain rail had been removed and the blinds didn't block the light so I was awake as soon as it was daylight and the mattress wasn't great although the bed linen was clean. Breakfast was good so that gets 5/5. We didn't use the pool so we can't comment on the spa facilities. A good place to stay for the friendly staff if you can overlook the faded parts.

We had the misfortune of staying here over the Easter weekend. What a farce, from the miss mach at check-in, no toilet roll in the bathroom, dirty cups, and then the food. Well after having been told, they had no chicken or steak left, it wasn't exactly busy no more than 12-15 people eating, we decided to have a combo platter to share and a portion of cheesy chips, I have to say that the chips were nice and homemade, but the wait, OMG, 1 & 3/4 hrs we waited just for the starter. From 6.45 to 9.30 for a starter to come out was ridiculous. The room was warm and the bed comfy, but the whole place needs re-vamping.

Our group of 5 booked to stay overnight in campervans. Positives were that the car park was flat, spacious and free. Pub was clean and had a nice outdoor seating area. Negatives were that we arrived around 2.30pm in the afternoon. No food served until 5.30pm (but that was our fault for not checking) Owner was clearly distracted watching football with his friends as he seemed irritated when we were asking about food and ordering drinks. We bought 3 rounds of drinks and sat outside as we felt uncomfortable in the bar. An hour or so later we asked if we could order coffees only to be told, 'no' as the machine was broken 😞. What happened to using a kettle? We ordered a round of soft drinks which included fresh orange juice and lemonades only to be told we'd had the last of the orange juice. The owner went back to sit and socialise in the bar with his friends to watch football. Such a shame we didn't feel welcome as place is nice and food was good and I'm sure the owner would have been less distracted if football hadn't been on the TV. Would we return? Probably not....

Had just been to Burton Agnes Hall and was looking for somewhere for a bite to eat, came across this place and thought we would give it a try. Glad we did as we had a lovely roast dinner, plenty of it and good quality. The service was quick and efficient, and the beer was good into the bargain.

We used the camper van stay area and it was ideal for what we wanted. It was our first trip using our little camper, sort of trial run. The pub/ hotel was clean and welcoming and family friendly. The jewel of our stay was the food. What can I say. Tremendous and loads of home cooked food. Hubby had the yorkshire puddings with stew. It really was the biggest plate of food you could imagine and he polished it off. To top it off, pristine toilets and dog friendly bar area. We will definitely be back soon.

Access to the lovely pool and gym really made this a good place to stay. The breakfast was good. The room an okay size for a single. The only downside was the tiniest bathroom I have ever used (including caravans).

Faily basic motel type accomodation but ideal for contractors working in area. Food not awaya avaiable in evening but there are other places to eat close by. Free use of swiming pool in leisure centre on site is a bonus
