Excellent
GGuest Uservery nice boutique hotel with a good bar and restaurant below. The room nice, clean, minimalist but good furniture and decent shower. Only one complaint - if you are not a fan of capsule coffee (and I am definitely not) and you just want a cup of tea, it's a pain to have to google the coffee machine to work out how to use it when just a simple kettle would have been fine. Just 4 for the location because of the chaos at the Botley road bridge which is going on till this time next year at least! Lovely breakfast menu with good service.
GGuest UserI was a bit dubious about staying in a room above a pub/ restaurant, but was very pleasantly surprised ! The room was really nice, as well as the bathroom.( A light above the bathroom mirror, might be a good idea ? ) The bed was excellent & although the main road was nearby, I slept like a log. The English breakfast & the buffet was really good value for money. The staff were really friendly & very helpful.......We will be back !
GGuest UserA friend and I had planned to go to Oxford to celebrate Mayday in 2020 but the pandemic meant this didn’t happen. In November 2022 my friend tried to book into the same place but it was full. There weren’t many rooms available and he booked us into the Ali Inn based on the photos. Neither of us read a review until the day before when I did. The majority of the reviews were poor but as we had no choice we arrived not expecting what to find and somewhat concerned. However There was someone to meet us Our room was clean and tidy. There were sufficient towels, toiletries and tea and coffee. Because of Mayday prices had increased everywhere and the Ali Inn was no different but at £260 for 2 nights wasn’t bad. It is a budget hotel. It is centrally located which is good. There is noise as there is a pub opposite and the theatre beneath it. It is a number of rooms up stairs and adjacent to a sandwich business run by the same people. The owner? Manager? Was very amenable helpful and friendly. The room was a good size as was the toilet and shower room. Definitely good for budget travellers who don’t mind noise. Ideal location very central and close to the bus station. Clean. Big towels too! Bed slightly soft and that’s the only slight criticism I have.
