"The amenities are relatively new and well-maintained. The place was spotless. The surroundings are quite pleasant; they offer their own parking facilities, though it is paid parking. Service was acceptable, with many Indian staff members and one or two Chinese employees."
"There is no hair dryer in the hotel. You need to ask the front desk to borrow it. There is not even a hair dryer that can be borrowed during peak hours. After washing your hair, you can only wait for your hair to dry by yourself. The front desk of the hotel had a bad attitude when asking him questions around 11 p.m. and didn't want to pay attention to you."
"Having stayed at the Holiday Inn Oxford on three separate occasions now, I can wholeheartedly say it is a truly outstanding hotel and has become my firm favourite whenever I visit the area. Each stay has been consistently excellent, exceeding my expectations every time.
From the moment you walk in, the check-in process is always smooth, efficient, and handled by genuinely friendly and welcoming staff. They make you feel valued right from the start.
The rooms are consistently spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed. The beds are incredibly comfortable, guaranteeing a great night's sleep after a busy day exploring Oxford or working. The bathrooms are modern and clean, and the overall room maintenance is clearly a high priority. I've always found the rooms to be quiet, providing a peaceful environment.
What truly sets this Holiday Inn apart, in my experience, is the exceptional level of service across the board. Every staff member I've encountered, from the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant team, has been professional, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. They consistently go the extra mile to ensure guests have a pleasant stay.
The hotel's facilities are great, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of tasty options to start the day right. The location is also very convenient, offering easy access without the stress of navigating the very centre of Oxford, especially if you are driving.
Based on my repeated positive experiences, I cannot recommend the Holiday Inn Oxford highly enough. It offers reliable comfort, fantastic service, and great value. It's clear they take pride in their hotel and their guests' satisfaction. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on my future trips to Oxford!"
"A special thanks to Emily for her excellent service. She responded to my emails quickly and handled my requests with great care. We had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful and thoughtfully prepared. The hotel has a charming, castle-like vintage style, and the surroundings are lovely. The breakfast and dinner and lunch were also great—highly recommended! Thanks again, Emily!
We love staying at Voco! My 2nd time, love it!"
"There is a nice garden and the staff are friendly. It is recommended to check in during the day, and you are encouraged to enter the house after 6 pm, so checkin after 6 pm may be a bit inconvenient. The house in Oxford is quite expensive, and it is just a converted ordinary B&B.
The room is clean and not big, it is suitable for two people to live in. Parents with children feel that the children have no space to move around. I booked a 16 square meter room."
"Beautiful place in the midst of town. Very quiet and quaint, blends into the atmosphere of Oxford town. Running route behind hotel connects beautifully to the river and there are horses on the estate."
"Good location – close to town but not right in the centre, which worked well. Room was fine, bathroom and shower all good, and the air con worked properly. Parking was also a big plus."
"Location ok, very close to Oxford city.
The room is quite small, but the transition is acceptable overnight, after all, the location is there.
The biggest bug is that there is no air conditioning. Although the summer in the UK is very short, the day I live may be the hottest day in Oxford. So lucky 🤣, I can’t sleep hot. Although the room is equipped with a small fan, it almost doesn’t work, and the fan has been useless for a long time. The area is full of dust."
"The location is first class and the service is very good, but the old house does not have an elevator.
Relying on the core commercial street, extremely convenient at the same time, it is a bit noisy at night.
No air conditioning, no problem with the current temperature. The ventilation in the bathroom needs to be improved."
"We were delighted with the attention, they gave us all information we needed for getting around, gave us recommendations for places to eat and gave us a warm welcome. The place was tidy and clean, it had some smart design for storing all our things and more, the bathroom had everything a traveler would need. I will definitively come back here on my next stay in Oxford"

Very Good
GGuest UserWe were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked. It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend.. Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk. Buses went to the city centre and railway station. The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff. Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.
GGuest UserWe loved staying at the Mad hatter. The location is only 10-15 mins from the city centre, staff was ever so helpful, and the room is very atmospheric, it felt incredibly lush without being over the top and tacky. The room was very clean and felt brand new. Only downside is the karaoke bar downstairs, but they kindly provide earplugs and anyway it stops early. We would definitely book it again.
SSuqinVery convenient location and close to city center. Clean and quiet. The room comes with a small kitchen thus can cook simple food.
This is actually part of Oxford University's Department for Continuing Education therefore can get a discount if you happen to be a current student with this department.
Will definitely stay again if visiting Oxford.
SSalmanN100 Banbury is one of the better places to stay in Oxford; whether you’re there for work or leisure. It’s approx 300 feet from two bus stations, but if you’re up for it, a 20 minute walk from central Oxford.
Our check-in, luggage storage, and the check-out processed were seamless. The only reason I’d give this 4/5 for amenities is the lack of ironing facility in-room. Would be great if it had a Muslim shower too, but that’s the case with (almost) every place you’re going to stay at in England.
CCharmaine LeungThe rooms are bright, clean and spacious. There is a small private parking area just outside the hotel. It's safe and located in a convenient location. Good choice!
AAngieANo coordination between Trips and the hotel on check in procedure. Hotel failed to notify guest on need to have check in code and the staff on call during the day couldn’t even differentiate between a hyphen and a dash and kept giving the wrong code. Very frustrating. Also the doors are too loud and noisy when they close can almost feel the shakes in my room 1.
GGuest UserThe talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.
GGuest UserFantastic place for a quiet stay within a 25-minute walk of Oxford city centre. The accommodation is clean, spacious, and well-maintained, making it a truly relaxing retreat. We had to be up early in the morning, but the location was very quiet. Mandy who assisted us with check in was incredibly professional and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience. Highly recommend this gem.
GGuest UserThe staff there were very enthusiastic and friendly, and the room was clean and tidy. The house's location is perfect, close to the train station, and very convenient. The power sockets in the room are a bit few, it is inconvenient to can not charge at the bedside.
GGuest UserThe house has a relatively large backyard, which can park several cars. Since we rented a car and drove around the UK, we had to find a yard where we could park. It is close to Oxford University and you can walk there. The surrounding environment is very quiet and the room is very clean. We are a family of three and three beds are very convenient.
