Guest Userlove this Hotel stayed many times .
just a few issues on this visit that didn’t quite get the excellent for me
The aircon on the room wasn’t working I phoned the desk and was told it’s on Heating mode only turn it off and start it again we did but the guy on the desk was unhelpful.
also the breakfast was a little lacking this visit we went down at 9.20 and most of the rolls muffins and pastries had gone no bagels and the eggs fried were hard normally there is a menu where you can choose fresh eggs etc but as they had a corporate event on that was not operating so despite a heft y price for the breakfast we didn’t get a very good one .
Other than that the service from all staff i. bar ,Reception especially Telma and Phil was excellent

We were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked. It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend.. Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk. Buses went to the city centre and railway station. The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff. Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.

Newton's house.
It is a three-story family remodeled house, with small space, but very clean. It belongs to no one to check in. Before you come, you will send you an email telling you the electronic lock password and the key is placed at the door.
This location is excellent, walking to Oxford University Christian Church is very close, to the town center is also very close.
Oxford has no subway, the place is not big, the whole journey can be walked.
If you have more luggage, take a taxi from Oxford Railway Station to Newton House.

The talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.

Overall, it's good. It's a renovation of old facilities. The sanitation is OK. The breakfast is average. The heating is too hot. The service staff is polite. The parking space is a bit crowded. It's suitable for self-driving. The sound insulation is not very good.

I can't even imagine it. Attic, I, a big man of 158cm, bumped my head 6 times in one night. Who would dare to imagine? It was so violent that I almost broke my cervical vertebrae. According to our country, it must be a single bed, but it is a double bed. It is extremely hot. There is a small electric fan with a tilted head, which sounds like a tractor. It was a lively night. There is no independent bathroom and the two rooms are shared. One, it’s convenient to take a bath, but I don’t have enough experience. I’m sorry.

Guest UserThe bus takes 25 minutes to the center of Oxford. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Oxford, near the ordinary residential area. It is very safe and convenient. There is Subway across the road and three bus stops within 200 meters.
The hotel is very old, and a small piece of the wall paint in the toilet of the room I stayed in fell off. However, the sanitation is good, no insects or obviously unclean places were found, the spider webs were also cleaned, and the bathtub and shower were working properly.
It is very suitable for one or two people to travel. In the peak tourist season, the hotel of 900 RMB is one of the few affordable options for overnight stay in Oxford.

Anonymous UserGood location, near Oxford centre and St Clements where all the restaurants and bus stops are. Didn't get the check in details so had to phone up to obtain them. Check in was easy once I got the details. The room had everything you need - fridge, iron, microwave, desk, chair. Bathroom was super small though.

Anonymous UserThis hotel was clean, the room was spacious with a good bathroom, staff member on check in was polite, and there was tea and coffee available. The walls are thin so you hear people coming up the stairs and going in and out of rooms so would recommend taking ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
Only improvement I feel they could make is the check out process. You leave the key in the room but then what if someone else goes in and takes things/ trashes the room, you'd have no proof it wasn't you. Would have preferred to give the key to a member of staff, maybe the person handling breakfast? Just a thought.

Guest UserSuperior location. The hotel has good facilities. In front of the gate is the river. It's safe, too. I do a lot of running in the morning. Next to it is a new shopping mall. Later, I found that there are many noodles to eat. You can also see the scenery outside. Very good.
