W L Fun House Hotel (Hsinchu) Reviews

Upon arrival, there was a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby and room. The room felt dated, with a dusty hair dryer that was hard to clean, worn fixtures, and overall cleanliness that could be improved. The bed and pillows were quite firm, and the comforter was wrinkled. Breakfast options and presentation were not very appealing, so I only had coffee and bread.

We booked a double room, but to our pleasant surprise, it came with two double beds. However, on the day we arrived, there seemed to be some disinfection happening outside, and the smell was quite pungent. The room itself was quite spacious. Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn't very clean; upon lifting the toilet seat, we found urine stains and hair from the previous guest that had not been cleaned.

The service was excellent, and breakfast was decent. For the price, it offers great value for money. On the downside, the room smelled of smoke, the lighting was a bit dim, and the only seating available was an uncomfortable folding chair. Aside from these points, everything else was mostly acceptable. There were some stains on the bed sheets, but the front desk promptly replaced them when I reported it, which was excellent. 👍

Stayed for two nights. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and quite close to Big City Mall. The rooms felt quite dated, and the facilities were showing their age. The sound insulation was terrible, and there was a noticeable gap under the main room door. Breakfast was included, offering a simple spread of a few basic dishes, white rice, congee, and toast.

Booked this hotel as my friend is also staying there, I was there only for a night and was given room 601. Once I open the room door I noticed a weird sourish smell. Room is definitely dated. The AC kept making weird noise, had to turn it to low and the noise level is more acceptable.  Other than that it appears to be clean. As I was staying for only 1 night and my friend is staying more nights, after I checked out, I went over to his room to store my perishables in the fridge as my flight is at 8pm. Once I stepped in, there was a strong sourish smell in the room which even the cleaning staff acknowledged that she smell it too. She sugggested opening the window to facilitate better air flow and if it still doesn’t work then maybe will use a air freshener. And then, the metal key didn’t work when I try to open the room door. The same lady assisted me and told me to turn the key left before turning the door knob right. But when I came back to the room, the key doesn’t work no matter if I turned it left or right. She took over and it opened, had to turn it left with more force 😬 Next, AC controller doesn’t work. She came back again and when she press it worked but she also said it’s tougher to press the button, she will change the batteries. After changing the batteries it’s still very tough to press the button, so she changed the controller instead. How eventful.  Won’t stay again if I can help it. Positive note though, the room wall paper doesn’t have the weird black barbwire pattern shows on the pics of trip.com, sorry I forgot to take pics.

Great central location and a spacious room. While the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it was very tasty. Boiled eggs would have been a nice addition. Overall, excellent value for money.

The room was pretty good.

Quiet, convenient! While the hotel is a bit dated, its location right on a bustling street makes shopping and entertainment incredibly convenient.

The main drawback was the inconvenient hotel parking; even the paid parking lots nearby were quite a walk. There was a noticeable chemical smell on the floor, likely from an overuse of cleaning products. Although the room's decor was a bit dated, it still felt very cozy and inviting.

The facilities and rooms are clean, but old and not pleasant.

My stay was in room 501. Unfortunately, the room smelled of smoke, and the hallway had a strong disinfectant odor. On the positive side, the front desk service was excellent. It was also a nice bonus that complimentary breakfast was included when booking through this platform. However, the soundproofing was quite poor, as I could easily hear conversations from the adjacent room. There was also a noticeable gap under the main door. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I'm unlikely to stay here again.

This place was fabulous almost all things inside were clean. I like this place and I will reserve it again.
