"The room's cleanliness was decent, and the environment was quite good. The beachfront massage was nice. Breakfast was very average. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel, and both were pretty good. There was a young guy who served us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and he never smiled, which honestly dampened the vacation mood a bit. The ladies at the front desk, however, provided great service. Koh Samet is a hidden gem with jelly-like clear waters, definitely worth a visit."

"Pros: It's in the center of the village, but not the noisiest. Situated slightly off the main street, there's no traffic noise. There are no noisy bars nearby. The building is three stories high, and I stayed in a deluxe room on the second floor. All standard rooms have windows facing the wall. The deluxe room is spacious.
The room has everything you need – a good refrigerator, not too small, it works even if you leave it and the key card locks all the electrical systems. The air conditioning worked well. The mattress is comfortable. The linens are silky, decent quality. Two bottles of water and juice or cookies were brought daily. There were noodles and coffee in the room.
Cons: Soundproofing is problematic; you can hear every sound from the neighboring rooms. The walls are probably made of plasterboard. The door didn't close properly and slammed, and it slammed in all the rooms. A rubber band could have been put in to stop it from slamming. If someone turned on the air conditioner, my brain would vibrate from the roar of the external unit. It was impossible to stay in the room. So I didn't turn on my air conditioner. No one had ever heard of a vibration damper for an air conditioner, and it was bad.
The loudest noise was from a Thai woman from a local family whose house was across from the hotel. She screamed and howled constantly at her dog, spending all day on the balcony, starting every day as early as 6 AM and not finishing until 10 PM.
In the bathroom, the shower was almost directly over the toilet, the floor was wet, and there was nothing to wipe it with.
Half the electrical outlets were damaged. There weren't any near the bed.
Overall, the hotel is recommendable if you don't mind the shortcomings mentioned."

"This newly opened hotel is, in my opinion, one of the best on Koh Samet. Most places on the island are typically guesthouses, regardless of their star rating, but this one actually feels like a proper hotel. The towels are very thick, amenities are provided, and there's even a laundry bag. The toilet is Kohler, the TV is TCL, and the room is spacious and, surprisingly, very clean. The only minor downsides might be the slightly low water pressure and the somewhat noisy air conditioning, but these are small issues in an otherwise great stay. It has its own quiet beach, and I'm very satisfied with everything. It's been a long time since I've stayed in a hotel I've been this happy with. Of course, I'm comparing it to the older, often overpriced guesthouses on the island – this hotel is an absolute gem! The staff are all friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is a buffet, which is quite extensive for a hotel of this size. If it's priced at 600-700 baht, it's an incredibly good deal for this island!"

"We recently stayed at Samet Cabana Resort on Ao Wong Duean, and it was exactly the tropical escape we were looking for. We booked the Beach Cabana, and we cannot recommend it enough.
The Room:
Staying in the Beach Cabana meant waking up to the sound of the waves every morning. Stepping out onto the porch with a view of the ocean was the highlight of the trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and had that authentic island bungalow feel while still having modern amenities (the AC worked great!). Being just a few steps from the water made all the difference.
The Location:
Ao Wong Duean is a fantastic beach, it’s lively enough to have good restaurants and fire shows at night, but much more relaxed than the busy main pier area. The water was clear and great for swimming right in front of the resort.
Service & Food:
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, from check-in to check-out. The breakfast buffet had a good mix of options to start the day.
If you are coming to Koh Samet, do yourself a favour and splurge a little for the Beach Cabana. It transforms the trip from a standard hotel stay into a real beach holiday. We’ll definitely be back!"

"Newly renovated rooms; comfortable & cleaned. Beautiful private peaceful beach. All the hotel staff that we had contacted did excellent jobs. Enjoyed live music & a fire show in the evening. We gave 200 THB to the fire show men. Frankly speaking, their fire show skills are much better than Hawaii. (Except, no hip dance) It would be nice if the other hotel guests would have given them some tips, too. Everything was good, except the music at the restaurant by the beach was a bit too loud. I will return to stay at this hotel again if I go to Samed next time."

"We had such a lovely stay at The Salil Hotel Sukhumvit 57 – Thonglor and would absolutely come back again.
The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Thonglor, close to great restaurants, cafes, and nightlife, but still peaceful enough to relax properly. It made getting around Bangkok very easy.
The hotel itself is beautiful, well maintained, and everything was spotless. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, which made our stay feel effortless.
Breakfast was definitely a highlight. There was a great variety of options, fresh ingredients, and something for every mood. It was the perfect way to start each day.
Most importantly, the staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and always helpful. From check in to check out, they made us feel welcome and taken care of.

"Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. You can snorkel directly in front of the hotel, and there are more fish near the coral reefs, but I wouldn't recommend going there if the waves are big. It's best to wear long pants and diving socks to avoid scratches. The sand right outside is very fine and soft. Breakfast is served by the sea with ocean views. The bar street can get a bit noisy at night, so it might not be suitable for light sleepers, but since we usually go to bed late, it didn't bother us. A major plus is that the bedsheets are changed for every new guest. The room has many windows, making it bright and airy. The only downsides are that the shower only has a handheld showerhead and the water pressure is a bit low. For shopping, try to go to the 7-Eleven on the main street, as the supermarket here is about a third more expensive. Overall, it offers great value for money and is perfect for a relaxing holiday."

"Despite paying a considerable amount, I was assigned a windowless room. My attempts via Ctrip to resolve this with the hotel were unsuccessful, partly because Ctrip's own room descriptions were unclear. Ctrip did, however, refund me 140 for the price difference. The shower pressure was extremely low, and the bathroom mirror was badly cracked, almost to the point of shattering. When I reported the issues, a staff member just took a brief look and walked away without offering any solution. On the positive side, the hotel is close to the sea and quiet, offering opportunities for free snorkeling. Having breakfast with a stunning sea view was also very enjoyable."

JjanzzyOverall, I'm very satisfied! After arriving by bus, we walked about 600m to the pier reception, then took a slow boat to the hotel's pier. Baan is the closest of the four hotels to the pier (as shown in the last picture), which was a huge relief! It's just a 1-minute walk, saving us the hassle of getting a tuk-tuk.
The hotel isn't luxurious, but it's quiet and elegant. I especially loved the tree by the beach. Being close to Christmas, the evenings here left a wonderful impression on me!
The room was quite spacious, with an IKEA-esque style. There's an outdoor balcony, perfect for reading in the morning. Outside the room, there's a chocolate drink shop where you can grab a drink to enjoy on the beach. To the north, it's less crowded and beautifully scenic – I really love it here!
Breakfast was also quite extensive, with several dishes you could select individually. The staff's attitude was much better than in many places in Bangkok. I'm especially grateful that on my first day, I forgot my DJI drone, and the front desk staff kept it safe for me until I returned. Thank you!
Oh, and there's a small restaurant run by an old man to the north that's absolutely delicious! Try the Tom Yum Goong and Mama noodles! My husband and I, along with the Swedish couple at the next table, completely cleaned our plates. Highly recommend: ร้านเจ้กิวลุงเตี้ย

GGuest UserThe taxi from the pier cost 250 baht. The beach right in front of the hotel is fantastic, and the male attendant who manages the towels was really good – he's the reason I gave the last 100 baht as a tip. His enthusiasm also led us to book a night squid fishing trip for 9 people.
However, all the staff here seem to have two different attitudes: one for Western guests and another for Chinese guests. While everyone else managed basic politeness, the female server in the restaurant (pictured in photo 2) was incredibly rude to us. This is my fifth time vacationing in Thailand, and I've also traveled to the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, the Maldives, and Hamilton Island, but this is honestly the first time I've encountered a staff member so rude. She pointed her finger at me and loudly demanded that I push the water bottle from the middle of the table to against the wall. I was completely stunned.
Upon check-in, they asked for 500 baht per night for an extra bed for our 6-year-old. Since the three of us could comfortably share the king-sized bed, we declined and only paid for the child's breakfast, which was 200 baht per day.
One evening, we also encountered teenagers on the beach who were indiscriminately bullying kids playing there. I never even saw something like this in Australia, yet it happened on Koh Samet. Thankfully, my English speaking skills are decent, and after a big argument, he ended up yelling that he was going to call the police.
Overall, I still wouldn't recommend booking a hotel here. The pricing attracts a certain type of clientele, and since there are many very cheap hotels nearby, the beach attracts all sorts of tourists.

GGuest UserWe only stayed one night, so I can only share that experience. We were greeted politely and checked in quickly. The room was clean and cozy, with a table and chairs, and essential dishes (spoons, cups, glasses). There were no toothbrushes, slippers, or other amenities.
The best part was the location! There's a 7-Eleven in the next building, and various cafes and the main beach are just a stone's throw away. Despite this, the room was surprisingly quiet, with no outside noise, which was a pleasant surprise 🤔
In short, I recommend it! For the price, it's an excellent hotel with the bare essentials 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I originally emailed to book a good spot at the restaurant for the fire dance show, mentioning it was my birthday and I wanted a good seat. To my surprise, both the room and dinner had wonderful surprises! They even specially sang ”Happy Birthday” to me and presented a small cake. I was truly touched!

ААнна ИсмагиловаUpon check-in, our family room had a dirty patch on the wall under the air conditioner and was located near the reception area. The room provided was not as cozy or inviting as it appeared in the photos, and it was quite small, with a very narrow walkway between the entrance and the beds. We managed to upgrade to a higher-category room on the spot for an additional fee.
Breakfast is delivered to the room with two options to choose from, but the only place to eat is on the bed, which is quite inconvenient. Another drawback is the lack of foot-washing stations outside the rooms, meaning sand gets tracked in constantly.
On the positive side, the location is excellent – just 10 steps from a beach with pristine white sand. The hotel also offers private sun loungers and has a cafe serving delicious iced coffee.
I noticed the hotel features two premium rooms – two-story bungalows with direct sea views (as shown in some photos), but I couldn't find them listed on Trip.com.

GGuest UserService: First off, a huge shout-out to the service! Our trip was a bit rushed, and all the rooms were booked up. We originally wanted to stay for three nights, but the middle night was Valentine's Day, and it was so popular that we couldn't get a reservation. I thought it would be easy to find another hotel, but there was nothing available. A guy at the front desk named James was an absolute lifesaver! From the moment I asked him, he not only helped coordinate rooms at their own hotel but, more importantly, he continuously helped me contact other hotels and made reservations for us without hesitation. Otherwise, we would have been sleeping on the streets! There was also a lovely lady at the front desk who was incredibly helpful. A big thank you to both of them.
Environment: I absolutely loved the hotel's environment! The beach is right there, connected to the hotel. It's not a sandy beach, but the best part is that you can go clamming and crabbing there – we found moon snails, bullseye snails, turret snails, and even various sea cucumbers and crabs! It's perfect for families with kids.
Facilities: The hotel seems to have been newly renovated and it's done really well. Everything is very new, so there's no hesitation about staying here. The breakfast was also good.
If we ever come back to Koh Samet, we will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again!

We are very familiar with island life in Thailand and appreciate that some things just don’t work as well.
The location of Malibu Samed Resort is gorgeous, it’s more or less situated on the beach of the small quaint Wong Duean Bay.
There are several beach restaurants available, the vibe is chilled, without the drinking or ******** culture. It’s lovely.
Our welcome was warm, the staff were great and happy to help with our luggage.
Our room is small 16 m² with 2 single beds, some hanging and storage space.
It has a rustic feel to it. There is a fridge which is always welcome, tea and coffee making facilities, which we always appreciate, as well as a safety deposit box & flat screen TV.
The bed and pillow are comfortable but not sumptuous.
Towels are provided and I would say are of typical island quality.
However the shower was an issue, obviously water is limited on the island and taking a hot shower was challenging but actually having a good supply of water either in the evening or morning was very hit and miss. Missed more often, it gets frustrating when you can’t have an adequate shower, that’s one of the reasons we move about frequently.
Breakfast is of limited quality but there are a variety of options including cereal, hot food both western & Thai.
Toast cereal and tea & coffee.
The pool area was hardly used during our stay so a nice quiet retreat from the beach was available.

GGuest UserThis hotel gave me a very mixed impression. It's located right on the beach, and the only access is from the beach itself. You'll have to carry your luggage across the sand (though the hotel does have porters if you ask at the front desk). We didn't know this when we checked in, as this detail wasn't in the hotel description. We arrived in the evening and had to drag a huge suitcase 15 meters across the sandy beach in sneakers, dodging people dining at tables. Our room was booked for the 1st floor (booking photo attached), but we were assigned a corner room on the 3rd floor. We spent the next three days trying to sort it out with the hotel. They admitted their mistake and promised to move us, but never did, even though 1st-floor rooms were available during our stay. In room 31B, the Wi-Fi signal was completely non-existent. I had to go out onto the balcony every time and stretch my arm with my phone towards the pool. The internet on the beach also worked poorly. The Wi-Fi was only good by the pool. The TV in our room also didn't work.
However, this was probably one of the few rooms in the hotel where you didn't need to draw the curtains, as the balcony view was of a wall (most rooms have glass windows and face each other). The hotel has a restaurant with some tables right on the beach; the menu is quite extensive, and the prices aren't inflated. The beach is nice, and the sea is magnificent. Breakfasts were good, with a wide selection, and the room was cleaned daily, with water provided. There's a pier about 15 meters from the hotel, and you can arrive and depart directly from there (300 baht per person). Near the hotel, there's a small shop, several restaurants along the beach, and bike rentals available. The reception can also call a tuk-tuk for you. On weekends, the reception and restaurant were open until 11 PM, and on weekdays until 9-10 PM.

GGuest UserThe location is convenient, just a few meters from the sea, and close to the lively areas too. The hotel itself is in a relatively quiet spot, and I say 'relatively quiet' because it's surrounded by lush vegetation. Many birds start their dawn chorus early in the morning, which is actually lovely – waking up to the sounds of different birds is quite nice. The hotel is a bit old, and the rooms aren't large, but they do clean upon request. The rooms have everything you need for a short stay. We really enjoyed it, though our noisy neighbors who were playing loud music and singing spoiled it a little. However, the hotel staff quickly quieted them down by asking them to keep it down.
