"Location SUPER! Food OK. Hotel old, room clean, but so, so. But it was Miami Downtown! If was the second stay in Miami on this winter school holidays trip, so it was just for one night only. The boy in the lobby for luggage also did his job well! The most terrible experience with this stay was the booking by itself. Because making it at the end we felt a bit in a hurry so even though we made booking 2 days in advance (prior to coming from Orlando), I made there a lapsus by making reservation with the start date. I was putting in as starting date the date of when reservation was made (also because of outer distractions), so could not cancel it any more (48hrs before start date of reg. only). So I made and paid second one as well. Facilities old but still OK (altghough it could be in much better condition; compared let's say to an older hotel by Lake Bled in my country, for example, let's say Hotel Triglav with Restaurant 1906 - I always loved it and I still do, altgough there are many by us (older, where I stayed in) (let's say a dozen, maybe not that famous as this one) (but then again just by us there were a few dozens newer ones (but relative to period of 30yrs I am doing that, then not so many), I did stay in, that were also super at least). Tried to negotiate a bit with employees in hotel reception, but they put it all back on me again and said, it was mine and trip.com matter only, relying for us to solve it by ourselves between us..."

"The location is amazing. The staff is helpful and friendly. The amenities were beautiful. We got there in the cold time, it was raining, and unfortunately our heater was not working, so it was very cold throughout the whole stay. Hope they can fix the heaters. Some shelves were pretty dusty, but overall a VERY GOOD hotel, with a GREAT LOCATION close to Omni Loop, and I would definitely stay here again!!!"

Hotel near Downtown Miami / City Center,Miami
An iconic fixture on the downtown Miami skyline for 40 years, InterContinental Miami boasts a waterfront location on Biscayne Bay, steps away from arts & entertainment in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood. A beacon for both business and leisure travelers, the hotel rises 34 stories over the city with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay and the Port of Miami. Recently completed a $40 million renovation the hotel offers 652 rooms & suites with a Club InterContinental lounge.

"Coming from DC, staying at the InterContinental in Miami was a smart choice. The main reason was convenience; it's right next to Bayfront Park, and a taxi from the airport was probably only around $20. Since check-in wasn't until 3 PM, and Americans are unlikely to be flexible, we landed around 10 AM and took a taxi directly to Sawgrass Mills—the largest outlet mall in the US—which cost about $50. Our driver was Colombian, and we chatted the whole way. The shopping experience there was even better than Woodbury; they had all the major brands, and especially since Miami is so hot, they had a full range of fall/winter styles and sizes. We reluctantly took a taxi back to the hotel around 4 PM; the Black driver was quite aggressive, and there was some traffic getting into the city. Upon arrival, the bellhop enthusiastically helped with our luggage (a tip was a must), and check-in went smoothly. We booked a partial bay view king room. The room wasn't huge, about 20+ square meters, with a king-sized bed that was about two meters wide. The bedding was very comfortable, and the bathroom had both a tub and a shower. Overall, it felt relatively new, and the cleanliness met InterContinental standards. After a short rest on the first night, we went to the Kaseya Center to watch an NBA game between the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks. We got nosebleed seats on the app for only $32 each, a $12 premium. The arena was just a ten-minute walk from the hotel, very close and convenient. The atmosphere was incredible, much better than Wukesong. Especially with the live DJ, hot dances, and big screen transitions, it truly lived up to its reputation as Shaq and Hardaway's home court. The viewing experience was on par with Madison Square Garden in New York; Americans are all about eating, drinking, and having fun during the game. We embraced the local culture and bought popcorn, pizza, hot dogs, and beer (they didn't ask for ID, but it was a bit pricey at $15). Amidst all the cheering, the Heat won 106:102 in a nail-biter. The next day, we had an early morning shuttle to Key West, so we didn't book breakfast at the hotel. There's a Starbucks inside the InterContinental, and grabbing two packed breakfasts for $40 in the morning was very convenient. The shuttle pick-up point was just a few hundred meters from the hotel, outside the Holiday Inn. We stopped at CVS for snacks and water. The day trip was booked on Viator for only $49 per person round trip to Key West, though activities there cost extra. The shuttle departed at 7:30 AM, stopping at McDonald's for a 30-minute break for supplies around 9 AM. After that, it was a series of 'keys' and scenic overseas highway bridges. Passing Seven Mile Bridge, its beauty certainly lived up to its reputation. We arrived in Key West at 11 AM, with six hours to explore the island. We took the Conch Train for $45 per person, which gave us an hour-long tour of the old town, with the driver also acting as a lively guide. The sea breeze made it incredibly pleasant. After getting off, we went to the mall converted from a Coast Guard building and had a Cuba Queen Coffee. Everyone says Cuban coffee is good, and it really was rich and smooth; I couldn't resist buying two pounds. Then, we walked along the main street, accompanied by various roosters, past Mallory Square, the Little White House, Hemingway's Home (admission $18, with timed tours, and we found six cats!), and the Southernmost Point. We walked past the US-1 Mile Marker 0 sign and made a special trip back to the post office to mail postcards we bought at Hemingway's house. Postage to China was $1.70. It was a tight schedule, but we boarded the return bus before 5:30 PM, arriving back in Miami at 9 PM. We immediately headed to CVI.CHE 105, ranked number one for Peruvian food, and it was the best meal we had during our ten days in the US, very suitable for Chinese palates. We ordered seafood paella and grilled octopus; the desserts were a bit too sweet. About a third of the customers were Chinese. This trendy restaurant was pretty good, costing around $60 per person. It closed at 10:30 PM, and after a satisfying meal, it was just a few minutes walk back to the InterContinental—still convenient. On the third day, we skipped breakfast and took a taxi to South Pointe Park in South Beach at 8:30 AM. It wasn't crowded yet, filled with handsome men and beautiful women, along with uncles, all out for their morning exercise. Walking along the beach, there were already people surfing and playing in the water. Personally, I felt it was much more refreshing than Sanya. We didn't plan to swim, so after a walk, we took a taxi to Wynwood Walls to see the graffiti. It's a huge district; while painting one wall can be considered scribbling, when it's all over the place, it becomes art. Looking at the photos later, it was even more stunning, though the neighborhood itself was a bit messy. Feeling hungry, we took a taxi to Little Havana to try the famous Sanguich, a Cuban sandwich. We were lucky to get a table at 11:30 AM. We ordered the Cubano and Bistec, milkshakes, and hot and iced coffee. The generous amount of meat combined with the perfectly toasted bread was like a Cuban 'roujiamo,' and it was definitely on par with the cheesesteak at Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia—so delicious! Half the customers were Chinese, so be prepared to wait an hour. We returned to the hotel and checked out before 2 PM. We headed to the PortMiami for a harbor tour. Although we missed our planned boat trip, we stumbled upon Thrill Miami. It was a large speedboat, and we were the only two Chinese people on board. It was incredibly thrilling, highly recommended! It cost only $45 per person for about fifty minutes, marking the end of our three-day Miami trip."

FFrench DudeLocation: The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, but it actually takes a 20-minute detour by car to get there. It's not easy to find because they changed their name to Holiday Inn Express without any clear notification. Breakfast: The breakfast area was under renovation, so breakfast had to be taken in the lobby area between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM on the first day, then it changed to 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM without any notice. The breakfast options were limited: eggs, steak-like items that resembled cardboard, milk cartons, juice, coffee, and bread. Dining Options: There are no dining options at the hotel. You have to take an Uber or use Uber Eats to get food, as there are no nearby restaurants, just other hotels. The ongoing renovations meant no restaurant or bar was available on-site. Rooms: The rooms are spacious and I loved the sitting area. There are two TVs in the room, and the bathroom is perfect. However, like many American hotels, there were no toothbrush options and no hand showers. Staff: The staff were very professional and kind. I appreciated not having to present a credit card since everything was paid online. Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi was good, but you have to re-enter the code every day. Overall, the Cambria Hotel (now Holiday Inn Express) has its advantages, especially with room size and staff professionalism, but there are significant inconveniences due to the renovations and lack of dining options.

AAndreNice welcome at the valet parking and reception. We had to prepare sofa bed ourselves, although stated during booking that we will use it. Showering without flooding the bathroom was not possible. The dinner in hotel’s restaurant was good. The balcony was quite spacious but is flooded if it rains. Fitness room and outdoor pool too small. You hear the metro rail quite well and the construction noise and the fire department unit alarms.

GGuest UserI wanted a hotel that would be close to airport in order to catch an early flight the next day and reasonably priced. I had just arrived back from cruise so I wouldn’t be able to check-in until 4pm. However, I explained my situation and they were able to accommodate me with an early check-in. However, there was an additional charge but I didn’t mind. Cruises arrived around 8 am so I was happy with getting a room to relax. Staff was very nice and professional. Front desk, bartenders and cleaning staff. I would definitely recommend this location.

GGuest UserHotel itself was fine. Was a bit annoyed that the bar was not open even for a soft drink if wanted till much later. When I went down to get a bite to eat I was informed that most of the menu was not available and my selection was limited to about three items to choose from. What I found most annoying was that apparently they had some type of youth group training going on on my floor which was right next to my room. Numerous times I heard the participants laughing or conversing loudly in the hall way. Whenever I decided to leave my room to go downstairs I had to run through a gantlet of participants who were having their break out session in the hallway of which I had to walk through disrupting their conversations. While they were polite about it, it did make me feel uncomfortable to leave the room while they were doing this. When I did mention to the desk what was going on they told me about the group which was fine but I wish they would have put me on another floor if this was going on. Overall it was just an overnight stay here before a cruise but honestly next time I would choose a different hotel.

GGuest UserReview: I arrived at 7:00 AM and found no staff, no reception, and no check-in instructions. My wife and I had to wait outside until another guest happened to come out and let us in. Inside, I met someone who I thought was staff, but he was just another guest. He tried to help me contact the hotel, but no one — not even other guests — could reach the manager. There is no real lobby, just a yard. I waited three hours outside until someone finally responded. Then I was told I couldn’t check in until 3:00 PM unless I paid $100 extra. That’s way more than most hotels charge for early check-in which is about 20$. I asked for a refund so I could leave — they refused. With no choice, I left my luggage with the housekeeper (the only helpful person) and had to walk around the city with my wife for six hours before coming back. When I finally checked in, I just got a text message with a door code — no person, no welcome. The room had lots of bugs, and both of us got bitten badly overnight. There were even cockroaches in the kitchen. This is not a real hotel. It’s overpriced, poorly managed, and has no customer service. Avoid if you care about basic hospitality.
