Tunel Residence

We really focused on location and you just can't beat this. The international hotels are located off by themselves and this is a block from Galata Tower. Amazing. The staff was incredible too. Problem = they fixed it. Need to book an excursion (which they don't get a commission for), they absolutely helped. John, at the desk, gave my wife his WhatsApp so that he could help us communicated with the driver we hired that didn't speak much English. Big rooms, many with views. Amazing spa. cons: the hotel is 12 years old and a little worn. Not dirty - at all - but the wood floors could be *****ped and re-finished, the wall paper has some scratches, the grout between the bathroom files are stained.
Grand Halic Goldenhorn

I’ve just arrived at grand halic hotel in Istanbul and our room was very hot because the room air conditioner doesn’t work. Inside our room hotter than outside! There is no toothbrush, body lotion, cup or glass and refrigerator is empty! When I want to call reception I find out that the telephone is broken too! I went 6 floor down to reception to complain about our room, the receptionist old man was very rude and very pilotless say our room has everything and here is 4 star hotel not more!

Beethoven Senfoni Hotel

Laleli
We are staying in this hotel right now and it is simply amazing. I was a bit hesitant to book this hotel as there weren't that many reviews. I took a gamble and it is well worth it. It is bit on the expensive side but amenities make up for the additional cost. Hotel was opened a couple of years ago but due to pandemic it has hardly been used. Pretty much everything looks brand new. Pros: We are in a triple room with a balcony and it is very spacious. There is a mini fridge in the room along with a large cabinet. Interestingly, TV is hidden in the large mirror in the middle of the room so it serves dual purpose. Air conditioner is solid and it got quite cold at night. As it is a newer hotel, they have incorporated a few new technologies. One strange thing; there is a window in the bathroom that faces the room. Why? 😂. If your room faces the street, it can get a bit noisy. But not enough to bother. Breakfast was simply awesome. Selection was quite large. Breakfast is served on the rooftop which has a fantastic view of Laleli Camii. Breakfast is probably the highlight of our stay! There is a spa/hammam in the building. Hammam is supposedly free from 2 to 6pm. But I haven't tried it yet. There is a swimming pool across the street in their sister hotel called Beethoven Premium. No swimming pool in this building. There is a small area to pray, mescit, in the basement. Majority of the staff is friendly. One of the receptionists could use a little more welcoming smile. Hotel is in the commercial shopping market. Majority of the attractions are a good 15 to 20 minutes walk. And it is not a straight walk as there are a lots of ups and downs as Istanbul terrain is quite hilly. There are a few restaurants near by. Famous Laleli Camii (masjid) is three minutes walk. It is an ideal hotel for a business person. Families/vacationers who want to stay closer to the attractions should try something a bit closer to attractions. Overall an amazing hotel.
