"I stayed at this riad in Marrakech for two nights (two people). When I booked through Trip.com, the confirmation clearly stated that the total amount to be paid at the hotel was 10 EUR (100 MAD). However, upon check-in/checkout, the riad charged us 160 MAD as “city tax,” which is far higher than what was indicated in the official booking confirmation.
I believe the riad overcharged us.
City tax should be consistent with the amount shown in the booking confirmation, and guests should not be surprised with extra charges that were never mentioned beforehand. This experience made us feel misled and uncomfortable.
I hope the riad can clarify this discrepancy and improve transparency for future guests. At the very least, charges should match the information provided in the booking details."
