If you speak English well, it will be very convenient, as there are many English instructions. However, the front desk staff's English is generally not good, and check-in is done via self-service in English. If you mind, you can ask them. The day before, I stayed at the Mercure across the street, but the sea view wasn't as good as this one's river view (including Karatsu Castle view), which is very beautiful. There's also a light show at night, and there's a small public bath on the first floor—so relaxing! Excellent value for money! The room was cozy and had everything you needed. Interestingly, the refrigerator was also self-service (English instructions included). I only stayed one night, so I didn't have to worry about room cleaning. It seems this hotel cleans every three days, and you can leave your trash in the hallway, which is common in many Japanese hotels. There are fast food restaurants nearby, and the JR station is within walking distance. The river is right outside, a great place for a stroll. The hotel information mentions (paid) bicycle rentals, but I didn't inquire about the details. There are many self-service items in the lobby, and there are English signs indicating free coffee in the morning, but I didn't take advantage of it because I checked out early.
