The Lansdowne Kenmare

Amazing hotel staff. Really nice place with accommodating staff. My kids even got cookies with their names on them! Great central location too. Hotel was able to accommodate our large family. Comfortable beds.Great morning breakfast too!

Fabulous from start to finish - beautiful room, super comfortable bed, excellent food in the restaurant and a great breakfast menu to choose from, super friendly staff- great location right in the heart of Kenmare, will definitely be back!

Excellent location, nice hotel with very helpful and welcoming staff. Room was a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast not included but priced fairly and very good. Would recommend the Landsdowne to anyone staying in the area. Will return.

The Landsdowne Hotel is gorgeous. It was wonderful to still have a bath in the tastefully de orated room. The location is so central to restaurants and pubs and the staff could not have been kinder and more helpful . We would definitely recommend this Hotel. Well done 👏

Beautiful building, full of history and character. Ideal location for exploring the town. Ample car parking. Food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent. Staff friendly and efficient. One slight downside, the room overlooked the flat roof of the kitchen area, on which was a large noisy extractor. Couldn't really open the window because of the noise. Not conducine to daytime rest.

Modern hotel with fab decor in a great location. Enjoyed beautiful meal., staff very friendly and professional. Loved the personal touch of macaroon in room and coffee machine. Piano bar was a nice way to spend the evening. I didn’t use the Spa in neighbouring Park Hotel but will do on my next trip.

A warm welcome, comfortable room, and a great breakfast menu. Friendly staff in the cafe. We stayed one night and also dined in the restaurant. The food and the setting were lovely - we were served by the new owner who was very attentive. Will very happily return at some point later in the year

Given the new ownership, one might expect the service to be faultless at the Lansdowne Hotel - not so on a recent visit to Le Café. Our simple order of two coffees and two pastries took the best part of ten minutes to materialise - not the end of the world as it was busy at the time. These items had been paid for on ordering and a further requested takeaway coffee was paid for on delivery. The young server then returned to say that the initial order had not been paid for and he was informed that he simply needed to check again. When a different server came to ask if we required anything further I again suggested that she clarify that everything had been settled re. the bill. When we went to leave a short while after, a manager made a beeline for us with docket in hand in order to have the bill settled and took a little bit of convincing that the bill was indeed settled - this particular exchange occurred right in front of the young woman who had originally taken order and money but she remained impassive until my companion pointed out that it was she who had processed the payment. Again, this can be explained away by young, inexperienced staff and, in fairness, at no point were we made to feel uncomfortable etc. However, what was a cardinal error in my book (and in my understanding of food service) was that after we had finished our coffees and food everything single item of delph, cutlery, napkins etc. was cleared from our table - leaving us chatting over a bowl of sugar. I was almost expecting our two chairs to be lifted up and placed outside the door. Looks like management here could do with a refresher from Ireland’s celebrity hospitality experts on Service 101!
