It is conveniently located for out-of-town access and the free, relatively simple parking is a definite positive.
Personally I was disappointed to find that the pool and health-suite pictured are not actually part of the hotel but are the adjacent Nuffield Health facilities, and close at 6pm at weekends. This is on the desk top website, but I had not seen anything about this on the mobile site when booking so just be aware if, like me, you're specifically booking for a pool etc. I'd have booked elsewhere had realised this - perhaps it could be made clearer?
The sleeping areas are set back from the main entrance building and all signage is pretty poor. I was not informed of a lift, despite being given a room on the first floor so had to carry my case quite some distance and up and down stairs - it turns out there is a lift on at least one part of the building but not signed at all.
The room itself was small but as expected and adequate for my needs but alas very noisy and I was kept awake and woken again but the very loud doors banging and people coming in to their rooms between 11pm and 3:30am. The hotel is not to blame for inconsiderate guests but the door closures could be adjusted so that they don't slam! At 3:30am I was woken with a start by a bang so loud I thought it was my own room door! There was also something outside banging, but as it was a windy night I assumed that they had just not secured something and not realised.
Would not book a weekend stay again.
