Klausturhof Guesthouse Reviews

Booked 2 rooms, but has been put far away from each other. Staff refused to arrange 2 rooms close to each other. One room (room 39-43) looks ok and like the web says, but the other one (room 18-24) is not like the ads, old, has a smell, and size is small only about 10 square meters.

It’s quite busy guesthouse. A lot of rooms and people. Rooms are quite small, but the bathroom is inside which is definitely good. Room was clean. Breakfast just decent.

Breakfast is provided. Kettle is communal use but I am thankful that kettle is directy outside my room

Their location is good with convenience shops and fuel station nearby and also close to the main route round the island.  The front desk service time slots is limited but they reserve the keys in the box for collection by customers.  Regarding the room sizes, it is a bit small but is enough for travellers.

Nice waterfall and hiking trails in the neighbourhood.

Simple guesthouse with simple amenities. Service staff was polite. Breakfast was simple but homely. Safe environment.

Clean and simple room. Shared amenities. Unusual breakfast. We were given a plate with croissant, juice, apple, hard boiled egg, rasher of cold bacon and cheese and cucumber. Not what I was expecting. Seemed a bit wasteful as I really don't desire cucumber for breakfast. Croissant was fresh and lovely.

We stayed at here for one night during our road trip along Iceland’s South Coast, and it was one of the best accommodations of our trip! clean rooms with scenic views and Free parking and helpful staff Anyway No nearby stores or gas stations (plan ahead!) and little bathroom

Good and within expectations

The room was small but adequate. The bathroom too small, with a tiny sink. There was no bath soap or shampoo. The shower curtain was mildewed at the bottom. There was a teapot shared by the four units in our building, but no coffee, just sugar. The restaurant was great for dinner, but the included breakfast was poor. We were given a tray with preselected items. The croissant and coffee were excellent. I passed on the oatmeal and oat bread, which left a light continental breakfast. Poor value compared to the other guesthouses we encountered in Iceland.

The location was great and the facilities had everything we needed, making it a comfortable stay. We stayed in a building with four rooms, and each building had its own kettle.

The hotel is in a great location, and it's easy to walk to anywhere. The owner was very happy to help call a taxi, and the taxi picked us up on time on the day we left. It was very smooth.

The hotel is quite pleasantly surprised. There is a high waterfall and a mature trail. I will take a walk next time if I have time. The restaurant next to the hotel is a big highlight.

We liked the room; it was well-decorated, had a comfortable temperature, and a small seating area. The bathroom was a good size. The breakfast, although not a buffet, seemed very complete. For room groups, in our case for four people, there was a coffee maker and kettle (with capsules and a creamer in your room, as well as tea). We didn't use the restaurant for dinner, but it's a plus to have it there. Check-in and check-out were very convenient.
