Art & Garden Residence

Krakow|0.19km from Sisi - kot
The Art & Garden Residence is a beautifully restored hotel using a combination of eclectic art pieces and cleverly upcycled IKEA style furniture creating a truly unique boutique hotel. The garden at the rear of the property is well kept and a peaceful place to enjoy a morning coffee or breakfast if the internal restaurant space is full. Unfortunately, it closes to residents at 3pm. Just a 10-minute walk from the most northerly point of the old town we found this a great location away from the business of the main tourist area. We booked a double room with air conditioning via British Airways Executive Club utilising Avios points we’d collected during our recent travels and the room information was reflected on our booking voucher. Unfortunately, we discovered there is a disparity between the hotels third party booking site amenities description and what is actually provided by the hotel. We arrived early afternoon, dumped our bags in the room and left for the evening, retuning after 11pm to discover our ‘double bed’ was actually two single beds of different heights and two single duvets that had been pushed together, there was also no air conditioning unit in the room, just a ceiling height air vent in the wall with no controls As it was late, we decided to leave it until the morning to speak with reception. Before leaving for a tour of Auschwitz early the following morning, I asked the girl on reception if all their double beds were constructed of two singles pushed together, she advised they weren’t, so I explained our experience and asked if we could be moved into a room with double bed at which point the male night porter rudely sighed heavily in an inconvenienced manner and said ‘you’ve got a double bed, what’s the problem?’ Truly taken aback by his unprofessional response, I explained that we didn’t have a double bed we had two uncomfortable singles which considering we hadn’t booked a twin room we’d appreciate being moved into a double for the remaining two nights of our stay. The night porter rudely continued with his huffing and puffing until I advised him that we would be leaving for a tour and will return early afternoon and would hope to return to a resolution as well as a fan, as despite having the windows open all night the room was a sweat box. We returned later to an apology from the young female receptionist and the key to a new room with a double bed and a portable fan. Breakfast is excellent, well presented, with good quality food and a great selection, my only negative would be the lack of coffee choice with only pre-made filter coffee from a large canteen style urn. The rooms are well presented, the bathrooms are immaculately clean, the shower hot and powerful and the toiletries sufficient. The downside is the walls of the rooms are very thin, and you can hear everything coming from your neighbours. There was no refresh of the bedroom services (tea/coffee sachets etc) apparently this is only available on request due

It was our first time in Krakow and we stayed here for 3 nights. The hostel was clean and located in a very good location. It is very near to all the historic places of the city. The staff were very friendly. The only thing I don't like about this hostel was the breakfast, too expensive for low-quality ham, (boiled) eggs, toasted bread. I would advise ppl to just find and eat at some breakfast place (there is a lot!) nearby where you would pay the same amount but get a way better food. Oh and I hope too that the hostel organize activities for solo travelers, that would be awesome if guests has a chance to socialize to each other.

We stayed here in May for a long weekend and it’s a great base to explore Krakow. Check in was smooth, hotel spotlessly clean and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Room was pretty big and the bed was comfy. Plenty of options at breakfast. It’s a steady ten minute walk to the main square in Krakow. On our first day in krakow we did a guided tour on a golf buggy which covered old square, Jewish Quarter and ghetto. Guide was fab and told us lots of history and recommended lots of restaurants. Aushwitz is a must visit, very humbling. Wear comfy shoes as lots of walking. Wavel Castle was brilliant and great value. St Mary’s basilica was beautiful as was St Ann’s Church. Food and drink was good around the square and very reasonable. Our favourite restaurant was Sopranos Trattoria which was outstanding. All in all Krakow is a really wonderful city

Charming decoration, located 10m away from old town and railway station, friendly and 24hs reception, clean and tidy. With elevator. I stayed one night, just to take a cab the following day to go to the airport at 6am. I didn't taste the breakfast. Unfortunately my low rate comes from the bad insulation of the rooms. This is an old house that has been converted into a hotel. There should have been a bigger investment in buying insultation material for the walls. If somebody just talk in the neighbour room you will hear everything. I was first located in a room that looked at the road, and the windows also didn't insulate the sound. I requested a change, but in the second room I was still hearing the talk of the neighbours next door.

The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the old town and in front of a bus stop, and it is a convenient location. The reception is open 24/24 and it is possible to have swabs against a caution. Furthermore, the rooms are clean and spacious. The communs are also of an impeccable cleanness, they are washed every day! The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable and very comfortable.

I was a little sceptical as some of the reviews mentioned it was noisy at night time, but they provide ear plugs. It also wasn’t noisy at all. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and our room was exactly like the photos and was extremely clean. It is about a 10 minute walk into the old town but the walk itself is beautiful and you are there before you know it. Only negative would be we were on the top floor and there aren’t any lifts, but I am sure you could request a room on the bottom floor if you needed it.
