Great location that is close to the subway and grocery store. The rooms were small though.

Excellent hotel front desk service and a superb location. After staying at Livemax since arriving in Tokyo, I truly appreciate how good Smile Hotel is.

The place was very clean and the room was comfortable. Supermarkets and dining options nearby were very convenient. There's a bus stop right outside the door, and the tram station isn't far either.

Hardly anything to fault. The double room was a little on the small side.

This hotel is only a short walk away from Nishiki Market and Gion, which is essentially the heart of Kyoto. Other attractions that are farther afield, for example, the Fushimi Inari Shrine, are accessible from a bus stop two minutes away. Additionally, there is a sizeable 24/7 Family Mart one minute away. The amenities are nice, with combs, vanity kits, etc. available in the lobby. However, the main drawback is that for our stay, which was 4 days, they only offered to clean our room once. Of course, bin collection is daily as long as you leave your bin bag outside the door. This is not a significant drawback, but it should be noted. Overall, it is a very conveniently located hotel.

Location is good. It is an old hotel and therefore it is not expensive for room with window and view. bed sheet has smell. It can be cleaner and room for better improvement.

Good location at Kyoto downtown area, convenience to and from Osaka

Clean and big room compared to others, easy and quick check in, nice location, close to many attractions.

Very simple and a little old hotel, I wish I booked APA hotel for the similar price for a better TV, more comfy bed and overall clean and new amenities

The hotel was a bit old but still clean and tidy. The room is spacious. Nice breakfast with many choices.

Great place!

The room was spacious enough, larger than most regular hotels, and I could open a 28-inch suitcase. The bathroom had a strong water flow and the water temperature was perfect. Across from the hotel is a supermarket that's open until the early morning, and after 7:00 PM, fresh produce and bread start to be discounted. It's a great deal.

The rooms are quite small, even by Japanese standards. The breakfast was good, but by the last half hour, there was almost nothing left. The room was cleaned once per stay (5 nights). The location was good. Overall, it's better to look for a better option if possible.
