The Westmorland Inn

We booked this room for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 , definitely couldn’t do 2 nights in this room . We were in room 8 and it was shocking for the price with no breakfast. I feel sorry for anyone staying in the room below this one as the floor was so creaky both in the bathroom and bathroom. We stay in the Lakes quite a bit but definitely won’t stay here again . The only good thing is that it is that it is ideally located to everything

My husband and I went for an evening meal here with our 3 young children. It was our first meal out together in a very long time and we were nervous about choosing the right place to eat at, as we wanted to make sure we had a good quality meal and make the most of our time together. Well, we weren't dissapointed! In fact, we'd go as far to say it was one of the best meals out we have ever had. The food was absolutely amazing - tasty, hot, and plenty of it! The kids tucked into their meals with no problems and the staff were very attentative - they never let our drinks go empty and nothing was too much trouble (we had a young lady with long dark hair serving us along with a young gentleman ). The waitress was very knowledgeable and patient with our kids, who were quite excited on first arriving at the restaurant! Anyway, just want to say a big thank you and we will definately reccomend you to family and friends.

The room was the lake view. And was a lovely simple medium room. With ensuite and tv and coffee bits. The staff were lovely. And the pub dowstairs was top notch serving food.

Pros: Location, just up from centre Price, one of cheapest in area Reception staff behind bar, very receptive and nice on check in. Check out very easy. Managed to park for free just up road and down side road on the right (beresford Rd) Cons: Noise from other rooms, could literally hear them talking. Bathroom, tired and plastic, bit like a tired caravan bathroom. Even the walls were plastic. Plastic shelf was even loose above sink. Bedding sheets had a plastic feel about them. Door not very secure, just a yale lock, gap round edge of door. Wouldn't stay again but with great staff and location a bit of investment in rooms would change it massively. Didn't try the bar or restaurant so can't comment on that.

Comfortable bed, nice and clean room. Tea and coffee available in the room. Shower was basic but worked ok, plenty of complimentary shower gel etc availble Great location and excellent value

I booked a table in Oct for a family group of 10 for 5.30 on New Year’s Eve upon arrival was told we should have been there for 4.30 even tho i had proof of time of booking the food arrived at six twenty and at twenty to seven the waitresses kept coming and watching us we felt very uncomfortable and at ten to seven they told us we had ten mins to finish we had to leave our drinks it was an awful experience I would never go there again it spoilt our new year celebration do not go here

Great place you have everything under one roof. Ideally situated for both bowness and windermere.

Lovely meal at this friendly inn. Comfortable atmosphere and wonderful service by the staff. There was also a good choice of local beers to choose from. We will certainly be calling in next year when we are in the area.

Stayed in one on the big rooms overlooking the Main Street. A bit disappointed, especially with the price paid. The toilet made a flushing/leaking noise all night and you could hear noise from the other rooms. The bar itself was nice and we stayed for some drinks. The staff are friendly and the whole place was warm. Some of our friends stayed in a hotel only a couple of minutes away on the same road, paid a lot less and had an amazing breakfast included. There was no breakfast option here and the only glamorous part was the price paid to stay. I wouldn’t hurry to come back.
