Xilu Xiaoyi Inn

The inn is in a quiet part of the ancient city, away from the main thoroughfare. It is an ideal base to explore the town's complicated irregular network of passages and paths of ancient cobblestone streets, canals and cultural landmarks. We booked two rooms for three nights. We were allocated a room on the ground floor next to the courtyard and another on the second floor. The latter was slightly bigger, with an ornate solid wood four-poster bed. The inn has all the amenities listed and they all work. However, in our opinion, it was the people who served us that set the place apart. Our heartfelt thanks to .. Joye – Speaks good English. Engaging. Served us lots of tea, pastry and fruit. Gave good recommendation of things to do. He arranged our day hike to the Tiger Leaping Gorge – to and fro, point to point. The rates were very decent compared to the exorbitant ones online. Mr Chang – Always ensuring we are fed, and fed well. He gave us packed sandwiches and tea eggs to bring along on our hike and on our last day too when we had to catch the evening train back to Kunming. He took it upon himself to accompany us to the bus stop early in the morning of our hike. He helped to trolley our luggage out to catch the taxi on our last day. Our thanks also go to Cassie for housekeeping, to the hardworking and pleasant Naxi woman who was always busy keeping the place clean and tidy and to the young man who helped Mr Chang serve us some very delicious noodles, paus and tea for breakfast. Lastly, a big hug to Hot Dog and his furry buddies. They are such a joy to ‘come home’ to, always on their best behaviour.

We stayed here for 3 days 2 nights. Friendly English-speaking owner, helpful staffs, a cute Alaskan Malamute couple... No wonder Xilu Xiaoxie Inn has a good reputation among foreigners. The location is easy to find. Our room has "home sweet home" vibes. The owner sent one of his staffs to pick us up at Nanmen (south gate of Lijiang Old Town) because it would be difficult to drag our big luggages by ourselves without a trolley/carriage. He also help us managed our airport transfer. Overall, good memories.

What a lovely stay! The hotel is very well located, inside the ancient town, near south gate. Just walking some meters you can reach to ships of all kind. The room so beautiful, the bed very big and confortable. Very well equipped, i couldn’t think of anything that missed. They served a really completed and delicious breakfast. People on the staff was very kind and always try to help me with everything i asked. Thanks very much!

my 2nd time booking at same hotel. location inside old town lijiang. enter at south gate entrance.good place to stay to feel old town vibes. wechat them before arrived and they will provide trolley to bring the luggage. there is bed heater and portable heater inside room so u wont freeze during winter. the hotel people very nice. when asking about muslim restaurant, cici give recommend place to eat. staff name anthoy really superb. he go and show us himself the way to the restaurant. he run and check if the shop still open or not while waiting us to walk there. there is 3 halal restaurant at the south gate area. During check out, another staff give us fruit to be eat since we didnt take breakfast to catch for train. will stay here if i come for the 3rd time in future.

We are traveling for 3 month and this hotel was one of our best ! The staff was really friendly, and Joye was really helpful to help us organize Jade Dragon Snow mountain. He speaks a perfect English and it was very helpful for us. Rooms are very nice and clean! PS: they have a very (big) cute dog ❤️

This hotel is very good, Owner have good service mind, friendly and away caring. The room is clean, quit, warm, good facilities and comfortable. I will select this hotel again in next time. They can speak english as well and very nice. Love!!
