I booked again. This hotel is very good. The room is very big. This time I stayed in a double bed + single bed. It was clean and the service was good. There is a restaurant bar on the first floor which is also delicious. I like it very much. , and the transportation is also convenient. It's just at the end of the main street. No. 16 goes to the airport. It's very good.

From check-in to check-out, every need was taken care of. The staff is top-notch and so friendly. They even supplied us some washing up liquid so my partner could try and take care of a stain on their clothing from dinner. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. The common areas are lovely spaces to relax and have a drink.

Everything at this hotel was perfect! Location seems to be a bit far from center of London but, thanks to the nice traffc system, moving around in London is very easy, but please note that fares are not cheap. At each room, heater system is perfectly embedded and it works well so that we could enjoy staying at warm place. This nice hotel offers free coffee at lobby floor and it tastes super rich and good so that we did not need to visit place like Starbucks. All staff were very helpful and very kind! Hope to visit this place again whenever i travel in London. Thank you so much for everything Citadines Barbican!

Got a good deal with Trip. Communication with Trip was adequate. On arriving, the hotel had our booking, but the room was not ready, so we left the baggage and went back later. On checking in, we were allocated the wrong room, we needed 3 beds, but was allocated a double. A return to reception resolved the matter quickly. Room was 7/10 as there were maintenance issues; a loose cupboard door and broken shower tray, causing a large puddle of water in the bathroom when using. As we were only there one night, we reported it to the receptionist on check out. Would still go again as is a great location.

Worried about the distance from city center, but didn’t need to. A quick walk to bus 29 and you can be in the middle of where you want to be in 30 mins. Longer walk and you can take the tube The room was great, bed was soft, cooling worked well (I’m a hot person) , and there was a full kitchen and large fridge and freezer. I did have to buy ice to keep in the freezer but there is a shop around the corner that sells bags of ice. Will stay here again very comfortable stay.

Overall, the experience was satisfactory. However, the accommodation was not equipped with a window, which was somewhat surprising. I checked my reservation again, and it was indeed with a window. The lack of bread in the breakfast and the absence of an egg as it was an English breakfast? Rooms cups were not clean.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be a mixed experience. While the overall ambiance was pleasant, the mattress lacked comfort, missing a topper that could have enhanced the sleeping experience. The multiple pillows provided were unfortunately uncomfortable and resulted in neck pain. Soundproofing was a significant issue; I could hear footsteps from neighbors upstairs, impacting the quality of rest. The lack of temperature control in the room was inconvenient, as it stayed consistently cold, with no option to adjust the auto-set temperature. Overall, improvements in bedding comfort and sound insulation would significantly enhance the guest experience.

Hotel London City is in a really good location. It’s a short walk to Farringdon Station where you have railway links, tube stations and also Heathrow express links. The hotel itself was pretty basic and the bar closed at 11.30pm. You can however purchase drinks from a fridge but not much of a selection. The staff were helpful and the hotel was very clean. Overall stay was good. Best thing is the location of the hotel.

London Travel Guide

Getting Around London

Are you ready to explore London now? Let's talk about how to get there and get around. Whether you're flying, taking a train, or arriving by bus, getting to London is straightforward.

If you're flying, London has several major airports:

London Heathrow Airport (LHR): As London's largest airport and one of the busiest in the world, Heathrow is located about 23 kilometres west of the city centre. It handles a vast number of international flights.

London Gatwick Airport (LGW): Situated about 45 kilometres south of central London, Gatwick is the second-largest airport, serving both international and domestic flights.

London Stansted Airport (STN): Located approximately 64 kilometres northeast of London, Stansted primarily serves European and Mediterranean destinations.

London Luton Airport (LTN): About 55 kilometres north of the city centre, Luton handles European and some international flights.

London City Airport (LCY): Positioned in East London near the financial district, this airport mainly caters to business travellers and short-haul flights.

Want to start your journey with ease? Why not book a hotel nearby that offers a shuttle service? It’s a real lifesaver, especially when you’re exhausted after a long journey or a late night flight. With the stress taken out of your arrival, you'll have more time and energy to dive into all the fantastic things London has to offer.

Once you're in the city, getting around is a breeze. The Tube is one of the top ways to travel—it's quick, budget-friendly, and takes you just about anywhere you need to go. Taxis and buses are also easy to find, though you might hit a bit of traffic now and then.

The Tube: London's Underground, or "The Tube," is one of the fastest ways to get around. Fares depend on the zones you travel through, with a single journey in central London (Zone 1) costing around £2.80 if you use an Oyster card or contactless payment. It's a quick and iconic way to navigate the city, but it can get crowded during rush hours.

Buses: London's iconic red buses are a great way to get around the city. A single fare is £1.75, and you can hop on and off as many buses as you like within an hour for the same price. Buses offer a more scenic route compared to the Tube, but they can be slower due to traffic.

Taxis: Black cabs are a classic London experience. The starting fare is about £3.80, and they can be hailed on the street or found at taxi ranks. Alternatively, ride-sharing apps like Uber are widely used and can be more budget-friendly.

Cycling: Santander Cycles, also known as "Boris Bikes," are available for hire across the city. It's a fun and active way to explore, especially in good weather.

River Services: Travelling by boat on the Thames offers a unique perspective of the city. It's a bit more leisurely but provides stunning views of landmarks.

Remember to check the Transport for London (TfL) website or app for real-time updates and to plan your journey efficiently.

LlewiskellyGood points Staff were very helpful and welcomed us, Amy at reception checked us in and was very polite and explained everything. Breakfast was good. Lots of choice in aviary suite, buffet full English, and the views from this floor were amazing. Beds are very comfy, toiletries provided, bathroom clean with good size shower, coffee/tea making facilities. Mini bar, everything you need. The spa area was clean, and although small, it was very nice. Bad points. For the spa, you had to change into robes provided and use your towels from room, but obviously, these get wet, so if you go back to your room for a shower, you'll have wet towels. (But to be fare, they ordered dry ones to our rooms as I moaned about this, and they came straight away). The room could have been a little cleaner, a few stains on the floor, etc, but it wasn't too bad, just marked down on. We would definitely stay again, and for price range, a lovely hotel.

NNamTraveling to the Thames for about 15 minutes, you can basically punch in the famous attractions by the Thames. It is close to Farringdon subway station and convenient to go to the outskirts of London. The hotel breakfast is very good, the choice is varied, and many Britons from other places stay. The disadvantage is that the room is relatively thin and there is no washing supplies. A cost-effective hotel.

EElizabethAbsolutely loved the Old Street area Very close to the station & nice neighbourhood like Shoreditch Hotel was clean and the bed was actually very very comfortable However, the room we booked was very small so once we had our luggages opened on the floor, literally had to tiptoe from the bed to the bathroom Would have been great if the room size was slightly bigger but overall enjoyed our stay!

The location is very convenient. It is very close to King's Cross Railway Station or subway. The room is not large and there is no small refrigerator. If you live in the lobby, you will hear loud noises at night, the wifi speed is a bit slow, and if you leave your luggage for more than 24 Hours need to go to a specific website to make an appointment.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very close to Kingscross train station and is very convenient for living nearby. There are a variety of restaurants and supermarkets. If you need to stay one more night before traveling, it is a good choice. The Indian clerk at the front desk is very friendly to customers and the check-in experience is very pleasant. The hotel has no elevator and is not very friendly to customers with large suitcases. You can consider taking out the things you need from the suitcase first and then leaving the suitcase at the front desk. Electric perfume sprayers are placed on each floor of the hotel, which may be a bit too fragrant. The house space is crowded, and you fall on the bed as soon as you enter the house. But there is a lot of space under the bed, so you can take out the things in the bag and stuff the bag under the bed.

NNunaBGCWas quite nice, tidy and clean. Super small room but quite ok for a one person traveller who wants to stay alone in an ensuite. Good location where I easily walked to the train station. I also arrived pretty late at night but with just a small upfront call my keys were sorted for me. . The breakfast was much better than expected with the omelette option for vegetarians. The staff was nice. Generally a safe family and single friendly place to stay and definitely price-conscious!! Worth my stay.
